Inspiration is one thing, but if you have an idea try writing it on paper, suck at it try the computer but forget it how in the world do you get what you want into your story.

I heard of outlining it but i'm not sure how... stress ECK!

The funny thingn is, Cas, is that I've tried outlining. I always seem to end up outlining the story but never finishing it, because the thrill of writing it just goes out of the process. I like to surpise myself when I write. :)

I don't know how people can outline. I can't even do basic pre-writting! And that is on essays and crap. I always do them after I write the thing.... Which is probably why my English teachers have always given me bad grades on the pre stuff and low As on the actual paper... I like Beers earlier idea about writting what you feel. I actually did that once when i was in this really deep funk for a month. Started a story and have yet to finish it, but then again, i kinda get depressed by it.... Anyway.... yeah. Pre-writting stuff sucks and any form of it should be banned! :D Emotional inspiration all the way! With bits of life mixed in, of course. :salute:

Insanity is essential to writting.

I can outline. I have to. I'm a journalism major. If I don't outline stuff, I go crazy. And I'm working on my undergraduate thesis. But mostly I do that when I work on multi-chaptered fics...but there are times where I just follow my instincts.

Pre-writing? I do some of it, but mostly on crucial scenes, or just to get a basic feel of the story. What I do instead is that I write down a single or two sentence on what I want to happen in a scene, so I won't forget. My notes are my life.

On motivation, I find that many things motivate me. It may be reviews from my readers, or my own desire to tell a story. On inspiration, music, good books, people, events and a whole lot of things inspire me. Writing, however, is another matter. I procastinate. I'm VERY, VERY Good at this. XD

I agree with beer. Don't deny your emotions. Let it flow, baby, but don't let it go out of control. :D

can you explain how you outline? Without losing what you were trying to get from the story melrose?

How I outline? Basically, I just write down the lines I want them to say or a general description of what the scene was all about so I'll remember what to put in when I type. Then I add in little details.
