Lack of Inspiration due to Foul Moods

Post by Lady Casper »

I always find when i become in a good mood someone recks it by saying something that i really don't want to hear. Anyway it also recks my ability to write and think of ideas. Is there a way to still make good ideas while in a mood or is there a way to get rid of the things that make you wanna scream from lack of inspiration? :(

You can always just screm and see if that helps...try screaming intoa pillow when no one's around...I haven't actually tried it [people are around now. . .Turkey Day break and all -____-;;] but if/ when you do, tell me how it goes =P. Then again, I'm rarely in a good mood and much of the time I find I'd like to scream (but I don't for some reason). *sigh* maybe this is why I'm stressed. I wonder what happens if I try and abstain from the computer for the weekdays. . .jus to see wht would happen. [no wait. . .I know what would happen...I'll grow weak and forget my promise. . .]

And getting rid of the things that'll make you scream? I find that impossible for they'll always make their way back to you. I tend to forget thm with a cup of green tea and my favorite movie to relax me and put me in a mellow mood. 8)

Hope this helps somewhat =].

Removing the source of frustration is always a good idea, or even better, putting it to good use such as exercise [boxing, tennis, jogging, etc] are just some physically active examples of relieving stress and bad moods. Basically, try anything that gets your mind preoccupied, work on crafts, play an instrument, draw, or dare to write down your frustrations.

After that's done, give yourself some time to calm down and relax. Sooner or later, it'll clear up and then you can get back to working on stories.

I agree with Calla on this one. Hobbies and sports often get me out of a bad mood. Not only does focusing on another thing preoccupy my mind, but sports also help me vent in a nice positive way. ( gotta admit that wacking a tennis ball a couple of times and poking someone with a foil puts me in a fine mood.)

Another way to be productive in a bad mood would probably be to ignore the negative comments put to you. What does my health teacher say....oh it's called selective awareness.

hmm yes that could be good to get rid of the problem itself...but that's really out of my hands. I don't really think it would work for me to try and fix the problem only cuz i did...lets just say...i would add more problems on my shoulders. :-?

Um...why are you trying to deny your emotions. Now I might be quite a sucky writer (and maybe this is why) but i feel that emotions are what makes good writing. Feed off your feelings, even if they are moody, experience them and then write them.

Also don't just say you're moody...there are many types of moody. Is is like a black fog that hangs around you, or that constant feeling that you have your own private rain cloud pouring on you etc. Feel and write. :D

I believe in love stories but despise romances.

I want to write fics that slap all the standard fanfiction conventions around the face with
