Duo smiled. "Heya buddy! Fate is funny sometimes, hunh?" Wufei glowered at him, and for some reason Zechs was there too.

This was so not Heero's day.

"Zechs? Why are you here?" Zechs glared at him and said:

"Too save my sister."

As Duo grinned and Wufei let an evil smile creep across his face, Heero decided it was time for a hasty retreat.

So he jumped out the window.

Onto an oncoming car.

Heero smirked at the sight of Zechs and Wufei half out of the window he had just used yelling and making obscene jestures. Duo, though also protruding out of another window, was whooping, "Biter! That stunt came off the Matrix!"

But suddenly, before he had a chance to reply, the car halted and he was jerked forward off the hood and onto the road. What caught his eye first was the licence plate. Who exactly would put "RY4EVER" on their car? Raising himself up, his eyes bugged at who he found at the driver's seat.

Relena got out of the car in a rush while Heero peeled himself off the pavement.

"Oh my gosh! Heero are you alright?" Relena asked, panting by his side. Heero slowly got up, keeping his eyes straight with his height. His first view was the black high heeled sandals on delicate feet with painted toenails. As he raised up his eyes followed the long, shapely legs, bent at the knees where the hem of her yellow sundress started. He swallowed as he ran his vision over her hips and slim waist, up... to her worried face. He finally stood straight and looked down at the girl with honeyblonde tresses blowing in the wind.

"Hn..." Ah yes, what a romantic line.

"Well since you're in good physical condition, would you mind telling me why you just flew out the window of that shuttle bus and IN FRONT OF MY MOVING VEHICLE??? You're lucky my brakes were fixed last week or I might have killed you!" Relena said, freaking out and grasping her head. "God, what a day..."

Heero stared at her. "'What a day?' Tche. What happened to you?" he asked coldly. 'hmm...didn't mean for it to come out like that,' he thought.

Relena blinked. Twice. Then her amazement at the question turned into anger. "What happened to me? WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?? I'll tell you what happened to me! Haven't you noticed that I'm panting?? Ever wonder why? I guess not since you don't seem to care about what other people feel! But if you must know, first..."
~*beep! beep!*~ Relena looked at her watch and nearly fainted. "Oh no! Now I'm late! Thanks ever so much, I was speeding just enough to where I might have been on time for SOMETHING today, but your little suicide escapade has allowed me to be tardy for a blind date that somebody arranged OFF THE RADIO FOR ME!! Now, if you'll excuse me, I must leave!" Relena shouted in a rush, stomping back to her parked car. Heero just stared dumbfounded.

Did she really not know?

In a screech of the tires, Relena was back on her way up the road. Heero looked around him and found his box and GAP bag on the grass. He walked over and picked it up when he heard sirens roaring behind him.

It was Wufei in a cop car.

"INJUSTICE! You can't escape from me by just jumping out of a bus window!" Wufei shouted.

Oh no.

Heero was about to turn and start running when he heard a POP, a SCREEECH, and a cry like a banchee, from up the road.

"AHHH! Can my day get any worse? A flat tire!? Heero! Come here and kill me!" Relena shouted, kicking her dead tire and proceeding to hit her head against the car.

This was a minor problem for normal people, but for Heero, barely noticeable. Grabbing Relena around the waist and throwing her over his shoulder, Heero walked towards the cop car.

Wufei stared at him like he had two heads (which at the moment, he sorta did). He found himself staring down the barrel of gun.

"YUY!"

Zechs was glaring daggers at him from on the bus. Wufei was about to murder him. Duo had fell to the floor laughing, and Relena, well, Relena just kinda hung there, blinking.

"Misson Accepted."

Wufei found himself unconcious in the back seat of his cop car, and Heero put the petal to the metal.

Relena stared at him.

"And where do you think we're going, Heero Yuy?"

There was a slight pause as Heero's neurons caught up with him. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a few empty links. He had Relena, yes, he had a ride, check, but where was the date? And how was he going to tell her he kidnapped her to take her on a date?

His training had failed him.

At last resort, Heero tossed her the bracelet.

Speeding past the diaster scene, Relena saw her brother trying to exit the bus with his gun and a very determined look in his eyes, and his free hand around a struggling Duo's neck.

She looked back at the bracelet that fell in her lap, and the quiet Wufei.

She shrugged.

"Ah, Hell Milliardo Let go I can't breath." Duo squealed as Milliardo dropped him.

" Tell me where they are going." He said with the fire in his eyes.

" Don't know. Can't remember, you and your grip of death stopped the oxygen to my brain. Forgot." Duo said as he dogded a blow to his head.

" Well remember quick." Milliardo said as he pointed the gun at Duo's head.

" God, Your just like Heero. give me a few minutes."

Duo thought for a moment. "Er...I think they're headed to the Carlton Hotel for supper." Then he whimpered. "Please don't kill me, I have a wife and three kids."

Zechs snorted. "Shut up Maxwell."

Relena blinked at the bracelet. Then at Heero. Then at the bracelet again.

"Uh...Heero?"

He gave her a look, then kept driving.

"Is it for me?"

He nodded, a slight blush escaping onto his cheeks.

'Oh sure...' Relena thought, 'NOW he decides to show some affection when i have a blind date with another man tonight...' She gawked at the bracelet. It was exquisite! 'I must say, the man has fine taste... how the heck did he pay for this thing anyway?' She just had to put it on. After winning the war with the clasp, she stared at how it seemed to fit her wrist perfectly. The beads shined on the silver. "Thank you, Heero. It's lovely..."

"Hn..."

Okay, perhaps no talk, but a gift was certainly a nice step. However..."Heero, what's the occasion?"

Heero opened his mouth like he was going to answer, but decided not to. 'This might be a little easier if she doesn't know just yet. Now, let's see...i have approximately 3.2 miles due east left to go, judging by my speed ETA 4.3 minutes..."

Relena realized she was being ignored, but decided the bracelet made up for the awkward situation. How was she going to tell him that she had a date? He'd probably want to know specifics about the guy, but she didn't know anything. Damn Hilde and her antics, how did Relena get pushed into this?

Relena looked up from her newly gotten accessory and glanced around where Heero was driving. "umm...I'm supposed to be meeting someone at the Carlton Hotel for the evening..."

Heero's eyes darted to the rearview mirror and met with Relena's in acknowledgement. Her breathe caught. "I know," Heero stated, looking back at the street.

"Oh, you know," Relena sighed. Wait a minute. He knows? "Wh..WHAT?? HOW? What do you know exactly?"

Heero smirked. "You have a date," he said, pulling into the valet parking of the hotel.

Relena was speechless. He was caught blushing, he'd given her a beautiful gift, and he knew she was going to be on a date tonight and didn't care. He'd even driven her to her destination without question. What the hell was going on? Why is it that he can do things resembling caring gestures and act so matter-of-factly when it came time to leave her?

He always left her, it wasn't anything new. Duh.

But why now? Why the pretty bracelet that she currently wanted to wrap around his neck in order to impede his breathing so she could get answers out of him as to how he always seemed to know everything about her.

"Heero Yuy, you jumped out of a shuttle bus and landed in front of my car, then you kidnapped me from the road. What kind of games are you playing with me?" It was then that the exasperation was killed from yet another gesture that caught Relena offguard.

Heero just smiled.

" Hey Wufei, watch the car for us while we're gone." Heero said as they left the still stunned Wufei sitting in the back seat.

' And now he's telling jokes. What happened to the Heero Yuy I know' Relena though as Heero led her into the building. ' maybe he was kidnapped by space aliens. Oh great that sounds like something Duo would say.'

She was still trying to figure out who she was supposed to be on a date with when Heero spoke up.

" Relena, we've been set up."

"What"

" I bet that Hilde and Duo set us up. I'm the one you're going on a date with. I won."

She wished he had just killed her.

All this torment and shock was way worse than death. Heero smiling? Heero telling jokes? And now, Heero being her date.

Her mouth gaped open a little, which she hoped didn't look to offending. "Oh."

Heero's heart fell, but he let nothing in his features show.

But, regaining herself, Relena beamed at him. "You know, I think they did."

Heero smiled back. He blushed a bit, and offered his arm. Gratefully, Relena took it.

As they walked towards the hotel, Relena mused, "You go shopping?"

Heero grunted a little and avoided eye contact. Laughing, Relena looked him over. "Well, it looks nice. Better than spandex."

"It was for missions, not fashion," he mumbled.

Relena giggled. "Thank you, for the bracelet. And, er-" she looked back at the cop car "the escort."

"It was the least I could do, after what happened to you today."

"May have helped that it also saved your skin." She put a finger to her lips thoughtfully. "My brother doesn't seem to like me dating much."

Unfortunately, Wufei didn't do a very good job watching the car for them.

"Speaking of the devil, Yuy," Zechs growled, gun in hand. A sheepish Duo behind him waved cheerfully. "Long time no see, eh?"
