Je suis n?e pour toi. Chapter II (PG)
I don?t own Gundam Wing, sadly.
So, here is Chapter two. Even though I had a lot of final papers to do, I couldn?t concentrate, so I decided to write some more. In this chapter everything is going to develop a little fast, so I understand if you don?t like it much. There is also a little angst, but very little. But if you like it nevertheless, please post. Well, enjoy.

Chapter II
6 months before
For the past three and a half weeks Relena and Heero had been going out, always to secret places where they were alone and safe from the public eye. At first Relena felt sad to be hiding, she wanted to scream to the world she had found the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, but after Heero cooked her dinner at his apartment, she started to really like his dating system. She understood that if the public knew, she couldn?t be with him.
During their dates they always talked for hours, watched movies or just played board games. They were both very good at Monopoly, and every once in a while they played chess or checkers. Relena won most of the times, but she always ended up with the feeling that he made her win. She constantly remembered all their conversations, the awkward kisses they had at first, and how that was getting better as time went by. Overall, she was really enjoying her relationship with Heero, and she was really raising the expectations of how far the relationship could go.
Heero, on the other hand, was starting to regret he had asked her out. He always had a good time with her, but his level of distraction was worrying him. He always thought of her, he smiled in the middle of conferences after remembering something funny she had said, and he knew that his comrades were suspecting something. He stopped going to Relena?s office because he now saw her during the nights. That silenced some office rumors, but now everybody wondered why he was always in a good mood.
While going to some security issues, he received an e-mail. He usually didn?t opened his mails, but he felt curious after not recognizing the sender so he opened it immediately. After reading it he continued staring at the screen for a few moments, rereading it and processing the information. The message was short but to the point, and there was a picture attached to it. A picture of him and Relena lying on his couch, kissing, but from the angle of the picture it made it look like she wasn?t wearing a top. He remembered that day, the day he cooked dinner for her. They had wine with the pasta he cooked and they started kissing. Relena took her coat off and had a yellow tube top underneath. Heero clutched the edge of his desk after reading again the message.
If you don?t want this to be in the newspapers tomorrow, meet me at the public park at 8:00.
Heero immediately tried to trace the message, but it was pointless. It had filters that always sent him to dead ends. He knew he could break them, but he was too exasperated to think clearly. He decided to change the itinerary for the day, called Duo to take Relena home in his place, and left a message in Relena?s machine to cancel the dinner they had planned.
When he finished, he stood up pushing his chair violently and got out. Everybody greeted and saluted him, but he rudely ignored them. He looked at his watch and it showed 6:26. He couldn?t wait to kill the bastard that spied and followed them and dared to take pictures. He was furious, mainly at himself for being so distracted that he didn?t noticed they were being followed. As soon as he finished this he will have to talk to Relena about what their relationship was causing and figure a way to solve it, he just hoped they wouldn?t have to end it.

8:00 P.M.
Heero arrived to the public park and saw it was full of people. Whoever sent the e-mail surely knew what Heero could do, so tried to play it safe by meeting him in a crowded place. Of course, the fact that Heero was a Preventer gave him the advantage of shooting him in a crowded place; he would just have to say later he threatened Relena, and everyone would believe him. And that was exactly what he intended to do.
He finally saw a man standing near a fountain in the middle of the park, apparently looking for someone. He started walking towards him. As soon as the man saw him, he tensed. It was definitively him, Heero thought.
The man was young, in his early twenties, he had blond hair and green eyes. He was taller than Heero, but he was lanky and up close he looked weak, like he could easily break him. Heero noticed trails of sweat in his forehead, and as he started talking, his voice was shaky.
?I?m glad you came?. He stopped, as if expecting Heero to say something. When all he got was a glare, he continued. ?Before you draw out your gun, I must warn you??
?You are warning me??. Heero interrupted. ?What makes you think that the gun is not already loaded and in my hand??.
The man eyed Heero?s hand, and noticed he had it hidden under his sleeve. He tensed even more when Heero started walking towards him, so he immediately backed a few steps.
?You should know that if-f-f anything happens to me, like d-d-death or a sudden disappearance, my lawyers have strict instructions to deliver a package to the local newspaper. The package contains the photos you saw?.
Heero stopped suddenly, not seeing that coming. ?So what is it that you want?Money??, he spouted, his nerves starting to cloud his judgement.
?Actually, no. I have no problems in that department. B-b-but I want you to break up with her and leave?.
?What? Wait, did Milliardo sent you??, Heero couldn?t believe his demands.
?What? Who? No, he didn?t sent me?, he responded as he backed a little more from Heero.
He shut his eyes after seeing Heero?s hand come up. Soon after he had his back against a tree. Heero could not lift him since he was taller than him, but to compensate he added extra pressure to his neck. After not receiving a punch, what he was expecting, he opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw scared him to death. He could see fire in Heero?s eyes. He looked around and noticed they were surrounded by trees, which blocked the view of the people in the park. He hadn?t realized Heero had been walking towards him, and he had been stepping back, until they were hidden.
?How about, no?,? Heero spat.
?Then the pictures will be out tomorrow. I know you don?t care about your reputation, but what about hers?.? He stopped babbling, which could only mean for Heero that he was confident enough to assure his success. He seemed to switch to an arrogant attitude, and Heero didn?t like it at all.
?You don?t scare me.? Heero released him and started to walk away.
?And what will she say Heero? After knowing you knew about the pictures and did nothing to stop me from making them public??.
Heero turned abruptly and aimed his gun straight at him. His eyes widened as he saw he was holding a gun too, but he was aiming it at himself. Heero opened his mouth but nothing came out.
?I am not kidding about the instructions. If I die, the package will be sent and her life will be destroyed. Please don?t do that to her.?
Heero lowered his gun and walked towards him in disbelief.
?Who the hell are you??, he couldn?t read this guy, he acted nuts.
?Taylor Yande, nice to meet you.? He held the gun in place and put his finger in the trigger. In one quick move, Heero yerked his hand, took the gun from him, and pushed him to the ground.
?Shut up, idiot! At least put bullets in the gun next time?. Heero was really annoyed but knew this man wasn?t the one who sent him the mail. He sat next to him, took out his pocketknife, and opened it slowly. The other guy?s eyes widened and gulped, getting nervous again. Heero reached Taylor?s shirt and ripped it open. After seeing he had no wires or possible audio devices, he let go of him. He eyed him for a moment, and proceded.
?Taylor, whatever the person is paying to you to do this will not compensate for the things I could do to you??, Heero saw that Taylor was about to say something, so he pointed the knife at him. Taylor immediately shut up.
Heero continued. ?I know you didn?t send me the mail, so let?s make a deal. You said the instructions were that if you died or disappeared the photos will go public, but you never mentioned any kind of torture signs. Now, you are going to tell me everything I ask you, and if you don?t, I?ll start cutting things off, and they will be things you will miss.?
Taylor didn?t made a move. He seemed to be considering his possibilities. He was quick to make a decision. ?I?ll tell you everything. P-p-please don?t hurt me?, was all he said. Heero smirked.
?Who sent you and why??, was the first obvious question.
?Neil Hunter. He is a very respected politician. I think he wants miss Relena. We have only seen each other twice, but from the conversations we had, he seemed desperate to be with her. He acted crazy.? To Heero?s surprise, Taylor stopped babbling again.
?Did he say why he wanted her or what for??.
?No, but he always carries a picture of her with him. He often looks at it and sighs, so I don?t think he has intentions of harming her.?
Heero looked at Taylor and was amazed at how well he noticed details. ?Taylor, you will go to him and tell him I agreed. I am going to leave, and you are going to keep me posted on his every move?.
?But, what if he dismisses me after this??, he asked worried.
?After this, he will keep you close. If he is the arrogant prick I guess he is, he will trust you after your victory, but you are going to have to feed his ego. Stay as close to him as you can, and inform me of every move he makes.? Heero stood up, and Taylor followed, relieved that he didn?t loose anything valuable. When he saw Heero walking away, he raised his arms like if he was about to ask something. Heero beat him to it.
?You don?t need my number, I?ll contact you.? He turned around and gave him one of his famous death glares. ?If you do everything right, I might recommend you for Preventers department of Intelligence?, with that, he left.

Relena was concerned after Duo entered her office and told her he was taking her home. She asked if everything was alright with Heero, and Duo said he just had business to attend. He gave her a smile and told her not to worry. Relena knew that Duo was probably the only person that figured out she was dating Heero, he knew them both so well, and she knew they could trust him.
Once in her home she went straight to her room to change for the dinner with Heero, but after seeing the red button of her answering machine on, she knew it was him canceling the dinner. She checked it anyway, and indeed, she was right, it was Heero. So, she entered her bathroom and decided to take a bubble bath instead.
10:50 P.M.
Relena gazed at her alarm clock and wondered why Heero hadn?t show up yet. Usually after he cancelled a date, he would come late to apologize, but she was almost finished reading some things from work and was getting tired. As soon as she put the papers aside, she heard steps on her balcony. After a few seconds, Heero opened the French doors, and to her surprise, he wasn?t holding a rose like he usually did after cancelling on her, but he had a bag, and he was clearly disturbed. His eyes showed a mix of anger, sadness and determination that she couldn?t read. She stood from the bed and walked towards him. She was about to hug him when he walked away.
?What is the matter Heero??, she said, feeling rejected and not liking it a bit.
?I have to leave?, he simply said.
Relena considered carefully all the possible things she could say. ?When are you coming back??. There was a clear sadness on her voice, so he turned his back to her so she couldn?t see how hard this was for him.
?I don?t know?, he said coldly.
?Well, I?m sorry to hear that, but I will wait for you. Do you think you are going to be able to contact me??, she tried to sound as calm as she could, but she couldn?t stop the tears from falling. Not only because he was leaving, but because of his coldness.
Heero turned around and looked at her eyes. She was fighting the tears, but she was loosing. He revealed none of his sadness for making her cry, and he rudely said: ?I don?t want you to wait for me. This ?thing? between us cannot continue.?
She let her tears fall freely after hearing how coldly he remarked the word ?thing?. She walked to him, but he pushed her away.
?Why are you acting like this??. She barely finished the question before she sobbed, not caring if he saw her cry.
?It is not working Relena. I cannot concentrate on my duty of protecting you and I go all the time to these missions, and there is no guarantee that I?ll be back. Don?t tell me you haven?t thought about that!?. His words were sincere but his tone didn?t show it. To her ears it just sounded as cold, like he wanted to hurt her.
?I don?t believe you! Don?t tell me it is not working, if you had all these concerns you would have told me about them weeks ago. You are just making excuses. I don?t believe you want to end this ?thing?, as you call it, it is more than that, and you know it! You are hiding something from me, Heero. I know it!? She was talking louder than she really intended, and she tried to calm herself down, but she just couldn?t believe the way he was acting.
?Believe whatever you want. I?m gone.? He turned around to open the french doors, but Relena reached his arm and with a strength he didn?t know she had, he turned him around. She looked up at him and then kissed him. He didn?t stop her, but he didn?t kiss her back either. After a few moments, Relena looked at him in the eye, not wanting to hide her sadness.
?Look me in the eye and convince me you don?t love me. You have never said it, but you never had to, I know that you love me?. She stepped back from him but didn?t let go of his arm. He dropped the bag on the floor and his eyes softened a little. He leaned forward and reached with one hand her cheek. He looked at her in the eye and?
?I don?t love you. I never did.?
And with that, he left never looking back. After shutting the doors, he did hear a thump, probably Relena dropping to her knees to cry.
I?m already working on the next chapter, but if you don?t want me to continue the story, I?ll understand.
Please post , whether you liked it or not. I accept constructive criticism, just don?t be too mean.
