Don’t Talk Back

Disclaimer: The author of this fic… *waves* that would be me… does not own Gundam Wing. Well Duh! Now rather than standing around stating the obvious… let’s get on with something more interesting shall we?

Part Four

“You’re really not very good at this are you?”

Heero glared at the tall bodyguard, struggling to control the urge to throttle him as he re-buttoned his shirt. Ignoring Trowa’s expression of mild disgust, he moved to step out of the elevator, only to be barred by a smirking Duo.

“What the HELL did you say? I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so ticked off.”

Duo’s breath left his lungs with a satisfying grunt, as Heero’s clenched fist sank wrist deep in his abdomen. With a groan, he sank down to his knees, allowing Heero to step past him. The livid Commander’s exit was halted, however, by the stern expression of an unimpressed Royal Advisor. Jamming his hands in his pockets, Heero waited mutinously for a dressing down from his superior.

“Exactly how many chances do you think you’re going to get Commander?”

Quatre watched him, arms folded and expression deceptively mild. Heero frowned, knowing it would be ill advised to goad the other man’s temper. He looked at the floor, still unable to fathom why the mission had failed anyway.

“One more chance. I just need one more chance Sir.”

Quatre nodded at him, his mouth twitching in mild amusement.

“Very well, Commander. Be at my office in two hours and we will… re-strategise.”

Heero nodded slightly, glancing back at Trowa, who was helping up a still gasping Duo. Turning to Quatre, he grinned slightly,

“I do have to say one thing though, Sir. She sure is sexy when she’s angry.”

******

The door slammed shut behind her, the wall reverberating with its’ force. She wanted to scream. Throw something. BREAK something. She stalked across the large office, dropping into her chair with a huff, unsure if she wanted to laugh or cry. Why were men so hopeless?

“What!” Relena snapped, as a soft tap sounded at the door. She winced in apology, as Hilde ducked her head into the room, her eyes wide in surprise at her Queen’s display of temper.

“I’m sorry, Your Highness, but Lord Winner is here to see you.”

Relena’s eyes narrowed at this announcement.

“Really. Then perhaps you should ask Lord Winner to come in.”

Leaning back in her seat, fingers clasped, she attempted to feign nonchalance, merely nodding as Quatre bowed smartly before handing her the somewhat battered file she had dropped in the elevator. She turned it in her hands, smoothing the bent folder with a disconcertingly methodical movement.

“You had something to do with this debacle, didn’t you Quatre?”

Her tone was deceptively mild, her expression expectant. Quatre tweaked tentatively at his collar, and cleared his throat. Relena’s gaze darkened, impatience winning out. Her advisor ducked, but not swiftly enough to avoid the thick sheaf of papers as it bounced off his shoulder.

“How could you?” she shouted, “You told me you would smooth things over! That you’d speak to Commander Yuy, and make up for the… embarrassment I put him through. You were supposed to offer him some form of compensation! Not… not… argh!”

Quatre held up his hands, gesturing for her to calm down, as she searched her tidy desk for something else to throw at him.

“But Your Highness, I did as you requested. I gave him the opportunity to be reassigned, and he declined. He was offered compensation, and he requested a meeting with you. He was most… convincing. You made it clear that you wanted his demands carried out, and so that’s what I did.”

Relena blinked at him, confused.

“But… but he wasn’t supposed to want to see me.” She paused for a moment, staring at her advisor through narrowed lids. “Why are you pushing this Quatre?”

Quatre sighed, sinking down into a seat opposite her.

“Why are you running from it, Relena? It’s obvious that you love him, and I have little reason to believe that he doesn’t return those feelings. What are you so afraid of?”

She bit her lip, the turmoil of emotions twisting in her gut. Yes, what was she afraid of?

“He doesn’t know me.”

“And you know him? Your Highness, just because you’ve read his file, and investigated into his private life, doesn’t mean you know him either. So you know what his favourite food is. What shampoos, deodorant and shaving creams he uses. Even what side of the bed he prefers to sleep on. It doesn’t mean you know him. These are things you are supposed to find out about each other together.”

“That isn’t what I meant, Quatre. He only knows me as his sovereign, the Queen he has sworn to protect. I want to be with someone who wants to be with me… not someone who is there because obligation requires him to be. How am I supposed to know if he really loves me? They’re quite easy words to say, but I want someone who actually says them with his whole heart. Not with his head. Do you understand?”

Quatre nodded slowly.

“Yes, Your Highness. I understand. I also hope you will forgive my impertinence, by pointing out that you are making a terrible mistake.”

Relena shook her head, sighing deeply.

“And you, Lord Winner, are merely blinded by romantic notions. So which of us is the bigger fool?”

******

He stepped with a determined stride, pushing all self doubt to the back of his mind as he went over his plan of attack again. And again. He could not afford to screw this up again.

Rounding the last corner, Heero stopped in his tracks, as he spotted the guard leaning against the doorframe of her room. Glancing across at him, the man’s voice was mild and unassuming, yet still managed to sound mocking.

“You’re a glutton for punishment, Yuy.”

Heero scowled at Trowa, refusing to be baited by his fellow agent. He smirked in return, the gesture lacking mirth.

“Are you sure you’re not just jealous, Barton?”

Trowa arched an eyebrow at him as he straightened up and moved away from the door, allowing Heero access.

“That’s no way to speak to someone who just put in a double shift to help you out.”

Heero grunted in reply, brushing past the taller man as he turned the ornate brass doorknob. He grimaced at Trowa’s parting words,

“Good luck, Yuy. You’re going to need it.”

The darkened room was still, as he silently pressed the heavy oak door shut and crept toward the large, canopied bed. Beams of moonlight cast their light into the room, guiding his way with an ethereal lustre. He stopped at the edge, gazing through the transparent film of lace drapes at the sleeping figure.

He froze, his heart in his throat, as she turned in her sleep and murmured soft, incoherent words. Her brow was creased in a frown, and she had curled her knees to her chest. Her hands, clenched in tight fists, rested on her pillow, close to her chin. Heero swallowed deeply, his resolve deserting him. What was he doing? He had no right to be here; especially when she had made it so clear that she did not want him near. Turning quickly, he moved back to the door, his hand already firm on the doorknob when her soft, startled voice stopped him.

“Who’s there? Trowa? Is that you?”

******

She tumbled forward, the room around her disintegrating in a deafening roar. She fell, further and further, her hands stretched in front of her, thinking to break her fall. But the hard ground never rose to meet her, nor was she aided by the familiar embrace of his arms. Instead her decent seemed to slow, and she found herself floating in an empty void.

“What are you running from, Relena?”

She blinked, confused, as Quatre suddenly appeared before her. He waved a large golden key, the swinging motion of the trinket mesmerising her.

“Is this what you’re looking for, Your Highness?”

There was a flash of light, and suddenly a gilded cage appeared behind her Advisor, hovering in mid air. Heero stared out at her, his wrists bound and his expression defiant. Quatre grinned at her, holding the key out to her.

“Remember, Your Highness… If you love something, you should set it free.”

She reached for the trinket, wanting to cry out in frustration as her fingers passed straight through it. She glanced at Heero, her eyes beseeching, only to receive a gaze of indifference.

“You know, it’s not always merciful to release a caged animal to the wild. Sometimes, they prefer captivity. Did you think of that, Your Highness? Maybe this animal desires his gilded cage.”

His words echoed, over and over, and she clutched her hands to her ears, wishing to drown them out.

“Stop it,” she cried, “ Please just stop it…”

******

Relena blinked against the darkness, her pounding heart calming as the familiarity of her room settled over her. She moved slightly, hoping to drift back to sleep, when she froze… sure she had heard the soft swish of someone moving. Her breath lodged in her throat, and she clutched her covers to her.

“Who’s there? Trowa? Is that you?”

Her only answer was silence, but she could not shake the feeling that she was not alone. Sitting up, she pushed the lace curtains aside and switched on the bedside lamp. She gasped, taken aback, to find the object of her dreams… and fantasies, standing motionless at her door.

“Heero… Commander Yuy.” She whispered, “What are you doing here?”

She stared at him for a moment, as the shock receded. He turned, until he was facing her completely, his face seemingly blank save the diminutive flash of guilt at being caught. He bowed to her, with a nonchalance that seemed to almost disregard the fact that he was standing in her room, for no apparent reason, in the middle of the night.

Crawling to sit on the edge of the large bed, she glared at him with every ounce of dignity she could muster.

“I am seriously considering the need to reassess my security personnel,” Relena snapped, vexed when Heero merely continued gazing at her. “It would be most advantageous on your part, Commander, if you were to just leave now and we forgot that this ever happened.”

She pointed towards the door, her indication clear as to which direction he should be moving. And yet he did not move. She fought back the urge to pelt him with pillows. She privately lamented the loss of her normally cool temperament. The man was infuriating.

“Milk and Honey.”

Relena blinked at him.

“Excuse me?”

“Milk and Honey. Your body lotion. You don’t like heavy perfumes, they’re harsh on your skin and make you break out in a rash. But it doesn’t matter, because you like the mild fragrance of the lotion that’s made especially for you.”

He watched her, his face still masked with apparent indifference. But she could see through it now, could see that he was holding back, waiting for her.

“You don’t eat a lot at breakfast. Yoghurt, and maybe some fruit. You’re usually too distracted with what the day ahead holds for you. Around lunchtime, you like to exercise in your personal gym, if time permits. You’d prefer to run outside, but it is deemed unseemly for the Queen of the Universe to be seen running around and sweating.”

Heero paused for a moment, waiting for her to interrupt, to say something. She saw the flash of desperation then, the need to finish what he had started, and so she held her tongue and waited
He continued, his deep voice even and composed, as he revealed to her a side of him she doubted many had seen.

“When you were nine, you fell off your pony while trying to jump a log that was bigger than you had attempted before. You still have a scar on your left arm, from where the doctors had to pin your broken elbow.”

“Why are you telling me this?” she asked, unable to contain her curiosity any longer. She stood slowly, stepping towards him as she unconsciously brushed her fingers across the very scar he had spoken of, her thoughts spinning with confusion. He looked at the floor, his hands shoved into his pockets, his thick hair casting shadows across his smooth forehead.

“Because I know there are so many other things about you that I don’t know. And I want to know everything, only from you, not someone else. You’re right, Relena, I don’t know you. But then you don’t know me either. And I really want to know you.”

He looked up, his dark cobalt eyes locking with her crystal blue. She couldn’t breath, so enraptured was she by him, and she wished to reach across and touch him. But she contained herself, for fear of breaking the spell that was being woven.

“Give me the chance to show you who I am, so that you can show me the same. It won’t be easy, and I’m willing to make any sacrifice to be near you. You said that I thought Love was a cage, but it’s not. The cage only exists if I can’t give you my Love. By accepting it… that’s when you set me free.”

She didn’t know what to say. She wanted to smile, laugh out loud, throw her arms around him and hold him close. But she didn’t. Instead she leant up, kissing his cheek and then his lips, softly. She brushed her fingers across his forehead, smoothing back his unruly bangs.

“Well then, I guess we should do this properly then. You know, if you were to ask me out to dinner, I’m sure I would accept.”

This time Heero grinned, soft but sincere.

“Then, it would be a pleasure, if you’d join me for dinner tomorrow night, Relena.”

She laughed gently.

“That sounds perfect. It’s a date Commander.”

Heero shifted awkwardly, glancing quickly towards the door. He seemed in two minds, torn between the need to stay with her, and the necessity to respect decorum. She watched him silently, curious of his imminent choice. He ducked his head, the gesture almost comical, so out of character was it.

“I should go.”

Relena smiled softly, and she reached up again to brush aside a wayward lock of hair from his forehead.

“Is that your decision, Heero? Or are you merely asking me a question?”

He blinked at her, and her heart skipped a beat at the glimmer of longing that flashed in his eyes. She moved closer, her fingers dropping to delicately brush the nape of his neck. She gazed into his deep blue eyes, mesmerised by the desire in his normally guarded features. She paused for a moment, as she struggled to find her voice.

“I would like it… very much,” she whispered, the tremble in her words betraying her own need, “if you would stay.”

The corner of his mouth twitched up in a grin, and he reached for her, only to have her evade his grasp with a playful gesture. Heero watched her, his eyebrows raised, as she proceeded to pat him over in a fashion not unlike a meticulous security guard.

“What are you doing?”

Inspection complete, Relena glanced back up at him, before pressing against him again. She smiled at him, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

“Just making sure you are suitably… disarmed. I’m not letting you trick me again, Commander.”

He smirked at her, an arm anchoring her to him, as he dropped his lips to her shoulder.

“Perhaps I was mistaken, Your Highness, but I had the impression that you enjoyed being deceived last time.”

She sighed softly, shivering as he slid the thin straps of her nightgown off her shoulders.

“I’m not disputing that… Commander,” she gasped as his warm breath caressed her ear, “I just think that next time, it will be your turn to… submit.”

Simply smiling down at her in reply, Heero pressed his lips to hers, kissing her breathless as he released the fastenings of her slip, allowing the smooth silk to pool at her feet. She gasped, as the rough material of his cotton shirt pressed against her breasts and, without interrupting their embrace; she hastened to remove the crisp barrier to his warm skin.

Her heart raced, her body desperate for his touch. She found herself soothed, however, as he continued to move slowly, deliberately. His fingers traced her skin, stroking her gently, as if testing for her most sensitive areas. Relena imitated his movements, her hands running across the smooth planes of his chest, dropping lower to unbuckle his belt just as his own hands moved to cup her backside and lift her against his arousal.

He sighed against her, as she dropped her fingers to brush against him, caressing him through the coarse fabric of his pants. She felt her own body flush in response to his own anticipation, her skin dimpling with goose flesh at the exhilaration of his embrace. She could feel the erratic hammering of his heart, revealing his own body’s need to take her quickly, despite his pretence of self-control. She knew that he was progressing slowly for her sake. That he wanted to prolong their pleasure. But she railed against it. She didn’t want slow. Not tonight. They had the rest of their lives for slow and loving. Right now she wanted passion.

Breaking their kiss, Relena stepped back a little, staring up at him, her tongue flicking across her lower lip. She moved backwards, towards the beckoning double bed, drawing him with her. As she reached the edge, she indicated for him to sit, pressing his knees apart so she could lower herself between his thighs. Leaning up, she kissed beneath his chin, and then traced a path down his throat to his chest with her tongue. Heero drew an uneven breath as she circled a nipple, feeling it harden beneath her attentions.

As her lips burned his skin, her fingers continued to stroke his stomach and thighs, enjoying the texture of hard muscle. Her hands teased him, hovering so close to his groin, yet not making the desired contact. He growled, sweat already evident in beads on his brow, as she ‘accidentally’ brushed a knuckle against the straining fabric in his lap. Biting her lip, as the urge to gloat at the power she held over such a perfect man almost overcame her, she chose to torment him further by simply leaning down to remove his shoes.

He groaned softly as she withdrew her contact, only to return to silence as she began to tug at his pants. He lifted his hips slightly, allowing her to remove both his trousers and underwear in one motion, leaving him unclothed. She moved back to kneel before him, her eyes sparkling seductively. She smiled to herself, hearing the catch in his breath, as she grazed her thumb along the underside of his rigid length.

Stroking it slowly, Relena brushed her lips across the tip, teasing him with a flick of her tongue. He groaned again, encouraging her, and she began to caress him from base to tip. Slowly at first, then quicker, encouraged by his small gasps of pleasure. His hands fisted the bedcovers at his sides; his eyes squeezed shut, as he surrendered completely to her attention.

He bucked against her, and a hand lifted to clutch her hair as she continued to indulge him, her own body burning with passion at the control she held over him. His breathing quickened, and she was taken by surprise as she suddenly found herself hauled up against his chest. His mouth crushed against hers, his tongue sweeping between her lips in a ravenous kiss. Leaning back, he turned until he had her pressed against the bed, staring down at her with a predatory glower.

She shifted against him, lifting her hips so he could feel her heat through her silk pants. The head of his hard shaft butted against her centre, and she moaned her need, not wanting to wait any longer. She gasped as Heero drug his lips from hers, moving instead to worry her swollen nipples as he reached down to tug away her underwear.

The room was filled with their gasps and moans of pleasure, any suggestion of control long departed as their bodies took charge. Turning again, so that Relena sat straddling his hips, Heero guided his length into her warm sheath. She let out a long sigh, leaning back so her breasts jutted out, enticing him to caress them as he began to thrust beneath her.

Slow, yet intense at first, the pace rapidly increased as Heero began to move faster and harder. She leant forward kissing him passionately, her body overloading with sensation. Her skin hummed, and she cried out with the exhilaration of her completion, the trembling of her being dragging him over the precipice with her.

She sagged against him, her breathing ragged, as she enjoyed the feeling of his slick skin against hers. He swallowed deeply, the hammering of his heart a rhythmic tempo against her breast. His hand stroked her hair, and an arm came to hold her to him, restricting any thoughts of moving away from him.

“God, I love you Relena.”

She smiled at his soft but certain declaration, leaning up to place a chaste kiss on his jaw.

“I love you too Heero,” she whispered, and then smiled again, as she realised that her lover was already asleep.

******

Relena shivered, the early morning air cold despite the presence of his warm body. She shifted carefully, gently moving the arm that held her possessively. Glancing around, she saw that the crumpled sheets and blankets were trapped beneath him, and there was no way of retrieving them without interrupting his dreams. Sitting up, she swung her legs to the edge of the bed, planning to find another blanket in the nearby closet. She started, however, as firm fingers grasped her wrist, preventing her progress.

He stared up at her through the predawn light, his eyes betraying an emotion that left her breathless. Her heart swelled with love at the expression of vulnerability, as she realised that he thought she was leaving him again. She smiled at him, about to tell she was going nowhere, when his words pushed every last breath of air from her lungs.

“Stay with me, Relena.”

The words were whispered, husky with sleep. But familiar. So very, very familiar. A trembling hand covered her mouth, as hot tears pricked at her eyelashes, threatening to break bounds and course down her flushed cheeks. Suddenly it made so much sense to her. Why his touch felt so right, why she had been having the dreams again.

“It was you.”

He frowned at her, blinking slowly as he attempted to understand her words.

“My angel. It was you.”

Comprehension struck, and he sat up quickly, uncertainty obvious in his manner. He didn’t reply, but she knew he didn’t have to. It hadn’t been a dream after all. And he had been there all along. Right under her nose. She leaned towards him, and he shrank back slightly, obviously expecting reprimand or hysterics. He received neither.

Pressing her mouths to his, she drank from him, her lips brushing softly against his. Looking up at him, she sighed softly.

“I’m never letting you go again, Heero. Even if I have to handcuff you to this bed. You’re mine, just as much as I am yours.”

He smiled at her, pulling her closer to him as he smoothed his hands across her skin.

“I have always been yours Relena. The handcuffs just made for a very entertaining prop.”

Yeah... But now I have ANOTHER question...

WAS HEERO A VIRGIN BEFORE RELENA TURNED HIM AS HER SLAVE?..

And if you haven't read my other question, it was:

Was Relena a virgin before her night with Heero?..
