Disclaimer: Applicable as always.

AN: Two 100 word drabbles written for Adaon in response to a meme on my Live Journal. He got two because after I did the first one I got hit with the second and couldn't choose between the two. The first one can be taken as either Naruto or Sasuke. His request was for Naruto & masks. I originally mistook that to mean the series not the character Naruto and therefore wrote about Sasuke (he's a favorite) only to find out later that I was correct in thinking it was the series not the actual character. The second...I think is a bit more clear cut and has me jonsing for evil!Naruto fic (still).

You walk along the dusty streets, ignoring the looks thrown your way; single minded in reaching your destination with as little trouble as possible.

But they won?t allow that. The severe mutterings behind your back let you know what they think. You don?t care.

You?ve lived your life surrounded by lies. But you?ve not lied to one person, honest to a fault but no one pays that any mind.

It doesn?t matter.

You?ve never once lied to anyone even if they had lied to you.

Let them all mutter. You refuse to wear the mask they?re so fond of wearing.

You were the fool; the lovable dolt with a heart of gold.

They cower at your approach and you revel in the little flinches that even the most elite are unable to disguise.

Even I didn?t know that it was just fool?s gold

Now she?s your captor. Your doll. A little play thing.

And I?m your accomplice. Fitting for me I suppose.

No one knew that stupid grin was just a mask for something far more terrifying inside.

No one knows that the traitor at your side is just a mask I wear to save her and the other fools.

By the way, I just saw a new evil!naruto fic on fnn yesterday.

Yes the fic that I got all confused over because I was always right and somehow the ol' gray noodle just couldn't fully comprehend.

And of course I still adore and love ya too! Yay for them being enjoyed the second go around!

You did link me to one evil!Naruto fic but it wasn't the one you just found. I'm really wanting to find the very first evil!Naruto fic I ever read but it's been at least 3 years (2003 but toward the end). I thought I had it in my FFN favorites, but if I did the author has since deleted it. Makes me ever so sad.

I suppose I could bite the bullet and do a search on FFN but I'm not sure if I want to be that masochistic.

One of the evil!Naruto fics you linked me to, not the Kyuubi questions Naruto one but a different one, I didn't care for. If only because they referred to Sakura as an "uber-ditz". That'll get me hating the author supah fast.

But the rest of it wasn't too bad.

And I DO thank you Gene! From the deepest parts of my heart I thank you! Without you, I might never find any evil!Naruto fic.
