Wow, I just can?t stop posting. I wanted this chapter to be longer, so here you have it, although I kind of like it to stop a chapter in a cliff hanger. It frustrates the reader a bit. It?s fun!

CHAPTER 4


?-? 2 months later ?-?

?You have got to get away from that computer ?, said a very frustrated Duo Maxwell.

No response.

?Heero. Please get away from the computer. I?m worried about you.?

? You really think I care?.?

?You don?t even know what you are doing. You don?t know where to look. It?s time, Heero.?

?Time for what??

?Time to stop looking.?

Heero turned to look at Duo. He was very serious, had his hands in his pockets and his eyes reflected a mixture of sadness and weariness. Heero stood up and walked towards him until he was at arm lenght.

?I won?t give up on her. I know she?s alive.?

?Lady Une wants to close the investigation. All this research is leading us to a dead end. It was never their intention to give her back.?

?Just because they don?t want to give her back doesn?t mean she?s dead. Sooner or later they will slip and I will find them.?

?Fine, Heero. Do your research, but at least get some sleep. You look like... terrible.?

? I can?t sleep. I keep dreaming with her.?

? I figured . That?s why I put something on your coffee.?

Seconds later, Heero fell on the floor. Duo picked him up and put him on the couch. That would keep him there for a few hours.

?Chocolate or extra chocolate, miss??, asked the clerk from the bakery .

?Mmm, I?m not sure. It?s such a hard choice to make, don?t you think? If I take chocolate, I will end up eating the whole cake and I will think I?m such a pig. But if I take extra chocolate, I will get sick of all the chocolate and will only eat half, then I won?t have any room left in my fridge. However, if I take chocolate it won?t taste as good as extra chocolate... Why are you looking at me like that??

?I just never met anyone who came up with such a dilemma over a cake. I like it.?

?Oh, well...good. I think I?ll take the extra chocolate. I figure out the fridge issue later.?

?Or maybe I could go to your place and help you finish it. I love extra chocolate, too.?

Relena had to smile, it was the sweetest line anyone had used to ask her to a date. She had had a lot of changes lately. She decided to finish highschool, so she had been busy studying for the exam to accredit it. Maybe dating could be a nice change, too. He seemed very sweet.

?Well, I can?t just invite you to my apartment, we just met.?

?Well, maybe I could take you out to dinner, and if you get to know me enough, we can have cake for dessert. Does it sound good to you??

?Yeah, why not? Here is my adress, pick me up at 9.?

?Fine, see you at nine.?

Relena opened the door to exit the bakery, but before she was completely out, he said something.

? Oh, my name is Nick, by the way. I?m American.?

?Oh, right. I?m... Lena. I?m European.?

? Well, Lena from Europe, I?ll see you tonight.?

?Bye.?

?What? That?s perfect. We were just planning on kidnapping Embassador Witham to get the 500 grand we need, but with her we can get at least a million. Are you going to follow her??

Heero woke up four hours after Duo drugged him. He actually felt great. He really needed some rest. He hated Dou for being right. Talking of Duo, where was that baka and how did he dared to drugged him?

Of course, he had to be in the kitchen. He stood up and entered the kitchen. As he suspected, Duo was there eating his cereal.

? Don?t tell me you finished the cereal, Duo.?

?Okay, I won?t tell you.?

?Duo!?

?I?ll buy you some later, dude.?

?Don?t call me that.?

?As you wish... dude.?

Heero glared him so Duo had to turn serious, but as soon as Heero turned his back on him he started giggling. He loved to bother him.

?You changed my coffee.?

?Yeah, it?s decaf.?

? I want my old coffee, now.?

?Gee, you?re such a Gilmore Girl. You take too much coffee, you need to sleep tonight.?

?Duo!?

?Under the sink?

After switching the coffee, Heero sat down in front of Duo. They stayed there for a while, until Duo, who hates uncomfortable silences, finally spoke.

? What progress do you have on your investigation??

? Relena?s account was cancelled, but there are no signs of a transference.?

? How much money are we talkig about??

? 2 millions?

? Whoah! Way to go, princess. But don?t you find it odd that they have 2 miilion and they still don?t give her back??

?Precisely. Something it?s not right. I?ve been wanting to ask you something.?

? Oh, really? What is it??

? Why is Lady Une closing the investigation??

? Well, as I told you, we haven?t had any progress. Dorothy made a lot of research, but she finally convinced Lady Une that it was useless. Milliardo said he would continue with the research on his own, and that was it.?

? Dorothy. Don?t you find it odd that Dorothy is acting so normal? Relena is her idol, and she didn?t seemed surprised whe she got the news of her disappearance.?

? Oh, come on Heero. She said she already knew. Besides , what does that have to do with anything. Next thing you know, you?re gonna start blaming me for her kidnap, because I laugh too much.?

Long uncomfortable silence. Duo spoke again.

? I?ll go and buy you your cereal before I forget. I?ll be back in a while. Stay away from the computer.?

? His name is Nick , he?s American and he works at the bakery store. That?s all I know.?

? Wow! I?m shocked, Relena. Having a date with a total stranger. That?s nothing like you. I?m so proud.?

? I knew you would say that. Anyway, he will get here soon. I?ll finish getting ready. I?ll call you tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. before you go to work.?

? Okay. Maybe you?ll give me another surprise and tell me he spent the night there.?

He offered her his arm and she gladly took it. They talked about the weather and how they enjoyed France. When they were close to the restaurant, he stopped.

? so, from what part of Europe are you??

She found it odd they had stopped, but she complied. She hadn?t thought how many information she would share with him, but she thought he wouldn?t recognize her.

? I?m from the Sank Kingdom. Have you been there??

? No, but I?ve heard it?s beautiful.?

? It is. You should go sometime.?

? I will, Relena.?

She looked at him with wide eyes. He grinned evily and all of the sudden a car parked next to them. Nick covered Relena?s mouth and pushed her inside the car. As soon as they were both inside, the car quickly disappeared from sight.

So, another chapter finished. It?s way longer than the others, but it still has a cliff hanger. Sorry . just kidding, I love that. Thanks again to everyone that has posted their comments. I?ll post probably sooner than you think.
