A new challenge!!!!

Not a contest, a challenge. And it's open to more than GW, but I figured I'd post it here anyway....

For those of you who don't know (and probably don't care), my birthday is New Years' Day. So, I'm more than a bit partial to the holiday. I never get to do anything fun for my birthday, actually....

THIS YEAR, though, I want to do something fun. And not just for my berfaday, for the entire month of January. As kind of a present to all of us... So, I'm issuing a CHALLENGE, the prize is my thanks and, upon the threat of their lives, feedback from our visitors *shakes fist* POST! readers!!! :o <--me, looking at all of you

So, the challenge is, write a fic between 600-800 words long with your favorite *cough* must I say heterosexual? couple kissing for New Years. All GW (het) couples are permitted, Vash x Meryl and Wolfwood x Millie from Trigun, Inuyasha x Kigome, Van x Hitomi (Escaflowne), and last but not least, Sousuke x Chidori (Full Metal Panic). I'll also accept Alucard x Integra from Hellsing, and oh what the hell, how about Usagi and Darien from Sailor Moon (is that the right pairing? I'm not too familiar with SM, so forgive me/correct me if I'm wrong). If you have another pairing from a favorite anime you'd like me to consider, email me for permission. I may also consider yuri requests, but again please email me for permission as currently, the challenge is for het couples only.


So, to recap, 600-800 word fics (must have a word count at the top) of couples (outlined above) kissing for New Years. They can kiss at a party, they can kiss in the hot tub. There can be a lemon scene (if you can fit it in there). They can kiss when the clock strikes twelve, they can kiss at 9 o'clock PM (maybe they're going to bed early....) Kissing, New Years, word limit, and the subject line of your post must indicate that it's for the New Years' challenge.

Last day to submit fics is the 31st of January, so we'll take as many as you can write between now and then.

All right, but what about the other contest? Is that still up for Jan. 1st? Or do we get an extended wait on that as well?

'Nother question: Since my story is long...I suppose, what happens if I am unable in bringing it to a close on the date when the contest is officially over, will you still count whatever is there or will I be disqualified?

The contest contest is still up Jan 1. I'll be posting a clarification on that in the next few minutes.

I will still count what you have written and posted as of the cut off date.

Yes! Het Weiss is fine! We're also accepting a PatLabor fic, if Grey can manage it.

Hey hi, got one question. I originally saw your challenge on the V/M list. I'^_^

One question... my fic has become something of a beast at 4 pages. Uhhh... should I post it here when it's done, or just keep it to the V/M archive and out of the contest?

Technically, if it doesn't match the word count, I guess it should go in the V/M forum. *sniffs* But I'd love to read it when it's done!!!
