Ok, I seem to be churning these chapters out at the speed of light lol Call it the reverse of writer's block :D

Anyway, i think there'll be about 2 more chapters after this. Three tops.

anyhoo, enjoy - this one's a little tense lol

There were so many thoughts in Relena?s head that she didn?t know which one to begin with.

?Relena?RELENA?it is vital that you answer the phone immediately?pick up.?

Relena stood up shakily, and slowly walked out of her bedroom, towards the phone. When she reached it, her hand paused as it stretched out toward the receiver.

?Relena, pick up the goddamn phone! I know you?re there!?

She still hadn?t picked it up. What would she say to him? More importantly, what did he have to say to her that was so important? An impatient grunt came from the speaker.

?Relena, I know you don?t want to talk to me right now but please, this has nothing do to with me? Pick up the phone, quickly?now, I don?t know who might be lis-?

?Hello Heero.? Relena?s weak voice interrupted him. She heard a relieved sigh at the other end of the line.

?Meet me downstairs, by your car in 3 minutes.?

?Wh-..Heero what is it?...Heero?? It was no use. He had hung up. What was this all about? He sounded even more serious than usual, it frightened her. She placed the phone back in the cradle carefully and stayed perfectly still. This all seemed so surreal.
Right she finally thought. She had to get ready, and fast. She ran to her room and threw off the clothes she was wearing; searching for something that was?well she didn?t really know what she should wear?would they be traveling somewhere? From what Heero said, it seemed like she needed to get out of there - quickly. She pulled on a pair of jeans and an old sweater, ran out of her room and grabbed her car keys as she went out the door.

It was cold outside; a light rain was falling, making everything around her seem misty. The fact that it was approaching 11 o?clock meant that it was also pitch black. She could barely make out her car. When she did eventually spot it, she also noticed a tall figure standing beside it.

Heero.

His head snapped up when he saw her approaching. She was so nervous she could barely breathe. What should she say to him? Surprisingly, Heero spoke before she could say anything.

?Get in the car. Now? His voice was low, quiet. He was looking around, as if watching out for something. She walked over to stand in front of him and crossed her arms.
?Only if you tell me what this is all about Heero, I?m not going anywhere if you-?
?Get.in.the.car.? Heero spoke through gritted teeth, gaze fixed on something that Relena couldn?t see.
?Heero, tell me what is-?
?Just get in the Goddamn car!? He shouted, turning to face her. The anger in his eyes told her to shut her mouth and ask no more questions. She swiftly and obediently unlocked the car on the passenger side, opened the door and sat inside. She handed the key to Heero who was already beside her. He jammed it in the ignition and put his foot down on the accelerator. They sped out of the parking lot.
?Heero!? She almost screamed as the force of the car going so fast pinned her to the back of her seat. ?Where are we going?! Tell me what this is all about!?
?You?re in danger.? He said flatly. ?And yes?? He glanced in her direction quickly, ?I know I?m fired, but I couldn?t let anything happen to you? Relena looked over to him, her face reddening slightly. ??not if I knew about it first anyway. It would just annoy me if I didn?t do anything about it.?
The blush in her cheeks quickly disappeared. Well that?s real nice?she thought, looking away. Oh well, it wasn?t as if she thought he really cared about her anyway. She had established that much.
They turned onto a road Relena didn?t recognise. She was staring blankly ahead, her mind silently racing. Neither of them said anything.
Relena broke the silence.
?So how am I in danger then? And where are you taking me?? She sat up and looked out the window, a puzzled look on her face.
?I?m taking you somewhere where you?ll be safe. That?s all you need to know.? His voice was completely flat, as always, not giving anything away.
?Well, actually, I disagree.? Relena turned to face him, anger rising within her. ?I don?t think that is really all I need to know. I?d quite like to know who?s trying to kill me if that?s ok with you?? There was a very large amount of sarcasm in her voice. She wondered if Heero picked up on it.
He didn?t say anything. Relena waited for a minute, but he still didn?t say a word. How could he just sit there and not tell her who was trying to kill her? Surely that was an important thing to know in these kinds of situations?
?Heero!? She shouted at last. He didn?t seem to notice she?d said anything. This was stupid. She made an indignant noise and looked out the clouded window.
?We?re pulling over.? Came the quiet voice from beside her. She spun round to face him.
?What?!?
?I said ?we?re pulling ov-?
?I know what you said! Why the hell are we pulling over if someone is trying to kill me!? Surely we should be racing to an underground base or somethi-?
?They?ll be here in less than 2 minutes. Get out of the car. Now.? He had stopped at the side of the road.
?not unless you tell me who the hell is-?
?NOW!?
Heero was livid. He leant over, opened the door and pushed her out of the car.
?What the-?
?Go and hide, behind those trees over there. Don?t let anyone see you, and whatever you do, DON?T come out. Ok? Don?t come out, no matter what you think you see. Promise me, Relena, you won?t show yourself until everyone is gone??
Relena stood up and leaned through the open door.
?Who?s gone? Heero what is this-?
?Promise me Relena! Just tell me you?ll keep out of sight.?
Relena took a deep breath and slowly nodded.
?I promise, Heero.?

?Good.? He breathed. ?Now go.?
?Heero, I?
?GO!?
Relena gave up and simply nodded, slamming the car door shut as she ran into the nearby cover of the trees. She was in a part of the city she didn?t recognise. On the other side of the road was a block of offices she?d never seen before. She really had no idea what was going on. She hadn?t a clue of what Heero had been going on about before either. What had he meant? What was she supposedly going to see happen? What people had he been talking about? She shook her head in an attempt to clear it.
Heero hadn?t driven off yet. He was just sitting there, waiting, looking at the rear view mirror. Was he waiting for another car?
Heero suddenly jolted and put his hands around the steering wheel. Relena could make out some sort of vehicle at the end of the long street. Who was driving it, she didn?t know, but it must be the person - or people - who were after her.
Heero turned quickly towards where she was standing.

?I?ll see you soon, Relena Peacecraft.?

He went. She didn?t even realise her car could go that fast. It sped further down the street and turned the corner at the end of it. The other car passed her in a flash, she barely saw it. It headed towards the same road Heero had turned down.
She slumped against a tree and put her head in her hands.

Please God?she thought, let Heero know what he?s doing?
She was suddenly brought out of her ?prayer? by a noise. A loud noise. A very loud, ominous noise. She recognised it?she?d heard a thousand of them in her lifetime?

An explosion.

Her head snapped up, looking towards the road where Heero had turned. The other car hadn?t reached it yet. It hadn?t reached it? Then?then what was the explosion from? Surely it wasn?t?it couldn?t be?
The other car stopped before it turned onto the road completely. Two men got out. They went out of sight, around the corner.
Relena cupped her hands over her mouth. She felt sick, she felt ill. She burst into hysterical tears. He couldn?t have?why would he?it wasn?t him. It wasn?t. It had to be something else. Something, anything else but what she feared most.
The two men reappeared. She tried to make out what they were saying but failed. Though the one thing she could make out scared her. It scared her beyond anything she'd ever known.

They were smiling.

I think you'll set a record for story containing the most cliffhangers.
Anyway, Heero is really rough isn't he. I hope he's okay,
But if he can survive selfdestruction inside a gundam he can survive this, right.
