are you guys a fan of the Fushigi Yuugi Anime series???well...i was wondering if you have read its sequel (or maybe it's more appropriate to call it prequel since the story happened years before Miaka and Yui's timeline)????

i must say, that i liked Takiko (Genbu no Miko) more than Miaka...

I haven't seen it, but I can bet most anyone would like Takiko over Miaka!!.....Yuu Watase likes to make the heroines of her stories total ditses, and Miaka's first class there. So....it's a FY "outer story" with a plot line and motifs like FY, but without Miaka??? I'm game!

I've watched all of Fushigi Yugi and just recently finished reading the second volume to Genbu Kaiden. And I seem to like Takiko more than Miaka. Though I'll always like the whiney Miaka, I like how well Takiko stands up for herself and fights back. Plus she has a weapon, and training in using it. A heroine that can fight back is all good in my book.

I also like a lot alot alot of Mr. Limdo. The leading guy who Takiko seems interested in a man who can transform into a woman, very different and interesting.

i totally agree with you guys...Takiko's much more of a heroine than Miaka...Miaka is just soooooo......dumb................ :-? :-? :-?

And Rimudo/Uruki is like Tamahome, Hotohori and Nuriko combined...... He looks like Tamahome, he's the prince of Hokkan (like Hotohori, who's also a royal blood), and well....Nuriko....heheheh.... he can transform into a girl who's much beautiful than the lead girl

Hehe, I wouldn't necessarily say he looks better than Takiko but it'd be a tough competition against one another.

And did you notice Tomite is interested in Takiko, it just seems like another version of Watase's work, Ayashi No Ceres. Or even possibly another Hotohori or Tasuki liking Miaka.

Though I'll always liked Yuu Watase's work though. You can pick out similarities with her work and relationships in it.

And I don't think Miaka was dumb...more like kluty...very very klutzy.

hehehe....yeah, there are similarities in yuu watase's works..... but i really like the storyline though....quite unique...... and the characters looked really cool.......

Watase's work matured over the years, you could tell by the way she drew back then to now. She even said so in Genbu Kaiden Vol. 2.


You could tell it though, the characters profile seems more rounded then rugged as before in the Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play.

Well with how she shapes the character's profile. Characters in Genbu Kaiden are more smooth. Just compare Tamahome to Limdo. You can see the difference in her drawlings.
