The real-life Relena!
My name is Erin, and I write Gundam Wing fanfics (gee, I feel like I'm at a meeting for Gundamaholics!). I am what I like to call the real-life Relena Peacecraft... except for the fact that I am not a European princess/politician. But I do look like Relena (long, honey-colored hair and sky blue eyes), I am a minister's daughter, and I've spent my entire life feeling like I live in a fishbowl. My first name means peace, which is what Relena lives for (and, hello, it's in her name, too!). I even have a Heero Yuy for a boyfriend... Okay, so he's not a trained pilot or perfect soldier, but he is pretty athletic and has dark brown hair and deep blue eyes. When we met as teenagers, his first impression of me was "loud and annoying," and I kind of stalked him... all in good fun, of course. At first, I thought he was hyper and nicknamed him "Prozac"; then I learned that he was not being himself that day. He was actually withdrawn, depressed, and practically emotionless. Somehow he fell for me, and I convinced him that I would soon break him out of his stoic shell. "Yeah, right," he'd countered at the time. "You'll never see me being all mushy." Hah! Within months he became the most hopeless romantic I'd ever known (before that, his idea of romance was giving me his old hard drive, but he soon progressed to roses and sparkly jewelery!).
I suspect that Relena's love could do the same to Heero, and my stories reflect that. I like to write about Heero and Relena when they're older than they are when the Gundam Wing series ends; I don't always like when people write about them getting together as teenagers. Frankly, I think it would take these two slow movers a lot longer to assess their deeper feelings for one another. I think it's plausible that they might even explore other relationships first (I love a good 2xR or 3xR story!). But I do think that the princess and the soldier are meant to be, and will always end up together in the end.

We met already, but I'll say it anyway: Hi, welcome to Blissful Ignorance! ^_^
Wow, that really is amazing!
Cool.
Compared to you, I'm really nothing special.
My father is a bank accountant (or whatever the word is) turned musician, and every year, when the annual carnaval cd came out, I used to shun spotlights like the plague because I didn't want people to know my father was the nutcase on the local television station. Always did have a rather big mouth though... aw, well.
I look more like Catherine nowadays than Relena. too...
But... aha!
One of my male friends, whom I value as a bit more than just a friend, does look remarkably like Heero. Chocolate brown hair (I adore his hair...), falling into his slanted blue eyes. He's part Chinese, you see... I'm telling you, it's a mix to die for. But you don't want to hear me ramble on about him...
Don't let my rambling scare you away! Please, I'd die without a good rambling every so often! I hope I'll see you around on BI for a long time!

Never fear, Omnicat- I love your rambling.
I like to ramble, too... where would we be without it?
Mmm, I agree, completely... sounds yummy! My boyfriend is a European mutt (much like myself), but for some reason his blue eyes are slanted, and people believe him when he tells them (pretending to be dead serious) that he's half-Asian.
I think it's adorable.
I get told I look quite a bit like Relena, but of course I could never be identical... she's a freaking cell animation, after all. Same with Heero. But my Z is good-looking enough to more than qualify as a real-life Heero for me. ^_^
You know how we talked about starting a real-life Relena club?
Hehe... Well, I've thought about actually making a website... geeky, huh? Anyway, I noticed some celebrities who vaguely remind me of Relena, including Mischa Barton of "The OC" and Kate Bosworth in "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton" (there's a scene where she's wearing a blue dress and has her hair in Relena's half-up style). What do you think?

Ah, sounds like my cousin in Germany! She is blond and has blue-green eyes that are slanted in almost exactly the same way true Asian eyes are slanted. But she's a German/Dutch breed, no Asian influence to be found anywhere! We're guessing it's from the Eastern-European blood somewhere way back in her father's family tree.Aeris_Eithne wrote:Mmm, I agree, completely... sounds yummy! Hm, I always thought Jodie Foster would make a decent Relena... It definitely sounds interesting. What exactly are you suggesting?Aeris_Eithne wrote:You know how we talked about starting a real-life Relena club?Hehe... Well, I've thought about actually making a website... geeky, huh? (Nothing wrong with geeky, by the way. The website in my avatar contains a link to a geek-test; I scored the highest out of all my forum friends!

Heh, I took that "Which character are you quiz" and answered truthfully... came out as Quatre. I like that test, Omnicat, it's really hard to determine the character the questions relate to (for the most part) so there's no bias involved in selecting.
Anyway... yeah, Aeris, welcome. It's been a pleasure seeing you on these forums!

Jodie Foster, eh? I can kind of see it, though she's a tad too old... maybe she can play a future Relena or something. How about Keira Knightley? As far as a website goes, I don't know... I might just set something up for fun one of these days. ^_^Hm, I always thought Jodie Foster would make a decent Relena... It definitely sounds interesting. What exactly are you suggesting?
o_O Omnicat, you're so glamorous... My cousins live in Florida.Ah, sounds like my cousin in Germany! She is blond and has blue-green eyes that are slanted in almost exactly the same way true Asian eyes are slanted.
