Making sure that the angel was already asleep, he switched to his invisible form and leapt outside their window, dashing from building to building till he reached the town's clock tower.

The Goshinbu Clock Tower stood in the middle of the city, making itself indeed a landmark of Goshinbu. It was scraped clean every five years and furnished again with new paint and new ornamental plants. The clock's face with its hands and numbers were very well kept, always working and always a shiny bronze. When one is to enter the city, the Clock Tower would always be somewhere in view. Its exterior was very eye-catching, tourists and residents always appreciate the beauty of the place.

The hanyou shot in the wind from building to building till he made his way to the tower, his presence unseen, stealth active for humans and demons as well. If ever he was seen entering the Clock Tower, people would probably wonder why and were most likely to report him trespassing or accuse him a juvenile delinquent finding a private place to get high or make out with a girl. But to the demons that lurked about, they knew that he would be meeting with the Head Demon that resided there.

As he entered secretly, he felt the familiar heat that vibrated from the cold walls. But he knew that a demon's lair is never a hospitable place. It was warm only because of the stirs of sins and deceit that each demon contained. Many demons dwelled there, too. They spent their time there when their preys were sleeping or going to church. But the real current was from the topmost of the tower where the Head Demon was.

Making it quickly to the top, he stood proud before two demons who stood at least eight feet tall with scales all over their heads to their tails. They were the Head Demon's personal guards, Ah and Un. They were very infamous for several murders and frights in another nation. Rumors had it that they were fire-breathing dragons who existed during the medieval times. How Sesshoumaru made them such pliant creatures was a mystery. With murderous eyes and the flair of acid and blood from their nostrils sent demons away with a look and yet they did not manage to prick Inuyasha's fears. "Step out of the way. I'm here to see Sesshoumaru."

One of the two growled at him, peering down at him with his dark beady eyes.

"I didn?t ask for you to growl at me, piece of shit," Inuyasha mocked, crossing his arms on his chest, lifting a cynical brow. "Step out of the way, or else."

The other demon glowered at him, giving a loud roar, making Inuyasha's white hair float behind him.

Before Inuyasha sliced the demon with his claws, the dark doors opened, and the Head Demon's little green right hand stepped out holding his golden staff. "I am here to speak with Sesshoumaru, bring me to him."

The doors closed behind the green demon. Ah and Un stepped to cover the doors and Jakken pounded his staff against the ground.

"You, hanyou, are a disgrace!" the little demon squeaked, glaring at him with vicious eyes. "How dare you set foot on this place, amongst us demons? You foul ungrateful demon! If I had the power, I'd have called the Great Demon to get rid of you and your slut of an angel-"

"She," Inuyasha said undertone, his hand grasping the demon's little neck. "Is not a slut, you slime." He threw the small demon across the room behind him. "If you don?t tell these two goons to unblock the door, I swear Sesshoumaru won't be too glad to find out that someone exterminated them."

"Omei," Jakken hissed, standing up from the floor, smoothing his small robes. He walked back right in front of the hanyou and rubbed on his sore neck. "Sesshoumaru-sama is not here."

Inuyasha growled. His sense of smell wasn?t very dependable now. All he could smell is the thick odor coming out from the two repulsive demons guarding the door. The scent was thicker than blood, opaque as the years that they have been committing hideous crimes. "I will wait for him then."

"You will not!" Jakken exclaimed, giving his staff a loud thud on the floor. "If you do, I will make sure that the demons on your area rape the angel bitch!" He hollered as he was lifted from the floor from the neck by the hanyou.

"You two stay back!" he roared at the two demons by the door. He eyed the green demon and snickered. "You pose a threat like that and I swear when Sesshoumaru comes back, he will find himself one dead green demon and two useless lifeless oafs! And I will make sure you see your Sesshoumaru very soon in Hell, you scum."

"We have been given an order to not let you anywhere near the area, hanyou!" Jakken shouted with all his breath and whacking his staff against Inuyasha's forehead, making the hanyou release his neck. He fell on the ground grasping for air. He glared up at Inuyasha. "You're despicable. I wonder why Sesshoumaru-sama even granted you mortality!"

"How dare that demon forbid me to come here?" Inuyasha asked.

"I am small but I am not stupid like you!" Jakken said, turning his back to Inuyasha. "Sesshoumaru-sama was not responsible for the command."

"Don?t tell me you're making things up, demon!"

Jakken shook his head and laughed evilly. "Beware, hanyou. I pity you because not only have you fallen for the angel, but you will also need to help her. Sesshoumaru-sama was not responsible for the order, I tell you. Be forewarned. The one who gave the order is Demon Lord Naraku. I do hope that your daft brain knows who he is." Clutching his hand tightly on his staff, he stood firmly on the door before Ah and Un. "Now, leave and go do some thinking, omei."

Numbness filled his brain, his white ears dropping to his head with unknown feeling. He gave a low growl before he left with defeat. Turning invisible again he left the clock tower but let himself be visible as he walked through the city, back towards their apartment.

Not once did he think that he was scared but the idea that news of his relationship with Kagome reached a Demon Lord such as Naraku, his insides began to twist. "No way?" he whispered as he took each step. But he decided, he shouldn?t doubt. As long as Kagome and he were okay, they would be strong and battle against whoever there was to fight them.

As he made his way through the dark city, he carelessly bumped into somebody, making the stranger fall down on the sidewalk. Inuyasha decided that the victim was okay and just continued walking when the stranger called out to him.

"Hey. Aren't you going to help me up?" the voice asked from behind.

Inuyasha frowned, feeling a little angry. How dare this human demand his help? He turned around and saw a very enticing woman, sprawled on the floor. Against his will something sparked within his gut, a sort of wanting ?lust. Daring eyes stared up at him and he almost hesitated to return back to his senses to help her stand up.

If he was someone else, perhaps the old Miroku Satoshi, he could have helped her on her feet, gave her the look and brought her home to put a bandage on something that wasn?t really hurt. Words of apology would then turn into silly insinuations to want and they would end up in bed. In fact, any man could take advantage of the situation she put him in.

On the pavement she sat, legs apart, giving him a very disturbing view of black panties. Her pleated skirt was on her waist, and the way her arms balanced on her sides made her plump chest stick out, giving him another inviting look of cleavage and soft skin. Her long dark hair was behind her back, the ends of long tresses resting on the ground. Her eyes fluttered as she stared at him, and she teasingly bit on her lower lip. He cleared his throat as he held out a hand, trying to rid of the images of this woman being nude. He didn?t say a word of apology, just continued his way.

"Ignorant asshole."

He was an impatient demon. The woman was getting on his nerves. He was sure he heard the words right and his temper wasn?t very much at a low level. He spun around and glared at her. "Who're you calling an asshole, bitch?"

The lady barely said anything, just gave him an icy stare.

Inuyasha glared at her and turned around. Typical women. Then he felt a firm dig of nails on his shoulder, making him turn back. His eyes widened when he was spun around, the woman was giving him a kiss! He took hold of her shoulders and pushed her away. "Fuck? why'd you do that? I'm not looking for whores, thank you very much!"

The woman suddenly laughed.

Inuyasha falsely laughed along with her and then stopped to look at her with seriousness in his eyes. "Haha. You're a weird one. Go home, bitch, I don?t have time to mess up with you."

"Oh, honey? messing up with me is a pleasurable task, don?t worry, you won't notice how time will fly," she said, but as he turned to leave, she called out, "Come on, Inuyasha? Don?t you remember me?"

It took a while for her laugh to register in his brain. "Damn?"

Inuyasha knew he wasn?t mistaken when he analyzed her looks for a better glimpse. She spun around and modeled herself for him as they drank on a bar.

"So? what do you say, Inuyasha? How about you and me go upstairs and have some fun?" she whispered as she leaned close to his ear, brushing the tip of her tongue on his skin. "Hmm?"

Inuyasha shoved her away with his shoulder and shook his head. He lifted a mug of beer and took a little sip. He didn?t want to smell like beer. Kagome wouldn?t like the way he smelled, he was sure. "Look, Kikyou. Its different now. I?m hanyou and-"

"I know and, boy, do I like the way you look," she cut him, and she leaned close again, capturing the lobe of his ear in her mouth. She purred lightly when he gasped out of surprise. "Aren't you glad you're human now? I mean, half-human? We could finally do something together!"

Kikyou was a succubus who he was acquainted with when he was a demon. They did not have sex, he couldn?t have, being a demon. Body parts weren't very apparent then. His gender was only his suggestion since there were demons such as Kikyou that was obviously quite female. But what he remembers very clearly with Kikyou was that she impressed him. She was given a very strange capability to mate with human men. What they did do when both of them had free time was that she would actually show him female body parts and let his demon hand touch her or sometimes, she would touch herself in front of him. Unfortunately, demon to demon contact was not enough to bring arousal. They did talk most of the time that they were together but nothing pretty much made sense now.

"How did you become a half?" Inuyasha asked as he pushed her off again, wondering if she also made a deal with Sesshoumaru.

"Secret," Kikyou said, placing her forefinger on her lips. She fluttered her eyes and smiled. "Let's just say I did my job pretty well."

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. "What else reason could there be?"

"Oh, there's more to my job, Inuyasha," she whispered, taking a big gulp of beer. She opened the buttons of her blouse and took a deep breath. "Come on, Inuyasha. You know I live for sex. It isn't everyday that we get to see each other as humans! Just one night? please?"

Inuyasha grunted and shook his head. Feeling his bladder calling for help, he stood up. "Wait a sec."

Kikyou just nodded and watched him leave for the restroom.

Finally alone, Inuyasha unzipped his pants. He probably should just leave the succubus alone. She was a threat to everything in his world right now. Maybe she wasn?t but his instincts were flashing him warning signs. He zipped his pants back up and washed his hands.

"Inuyasha?"

His eyes quickly went for the mirror and from behind he saw Kikyou, her white blouse unbuttoned, her fingers tracing over the rims of her open blouse. She licked her lips and smiled. "Did you hear me lock the door? No one can come in here?" She took a step closer and pushed her body against his. Her hands went for his chest and she lifted her lips to meet with his.

Inuyasha let her kiss him but when her hand reached out to dive inside his pants, he took hold of her. "Look, Kikyou. Its different now. I'm in love with somebody so we can't do this."

There was shock all over her face and her mouth hung open. "In love??" she repeated the words. Then she convulsed into laughter. "No way, Inuyasha! Seriously?"

"Yes."

"Hell am I sorry for you!" Kikyou exclaimed, laughing. "Well, have you had sex with her yet -oh I'm sorry! I mean, did you make love with her already?" she laughed at him again.

If there was someone who was to laugh at him, it was not the succubus Kikyou. He grunted and turned for the door. "Go home, Kikyou."

"I? don?t have a home."

"That's too bad, because I do." He left her in the men's bathroom still exposed, not looking back.

Kagome embraced her pillow harder when she heard the door close. She was trying hard not to open her eyes and ask him where he had been. He apparently left while she slept and now, it was probably about three in the morning. Her heart beat faster when she felt the bed dip from his weight. Relax, she told herself, try to look asleep. It wasn?t after a little while when she felt his arm over her waist. She was then dragged like a stuffed toy closer to his body for an embrace. He was so effortless when he pulled her close like that. She wished dearly that her heart didn?t beat too loudly enough for it to vibrate from her body.

Sleep was hard to get during these hours, she knew. But Inuyasha, like always, slept like a log when lay down in bed. She could feel his warm breath behind her neck, tickling her. Her eyes parted, seeing nothing but darkness. She tried to settle on his embrace but then, a faint smell impelled her nose. She shut her eyes close again, trying to figure out what exact smell it was. She took a deep breath.

Out of habit, when something hurtful or unexpected was to happen, she bit her lower lip. She was positive.

It was the smell of four distinct things.

Cigarette smoke, beer, lipstick, and perfume. Women's perfume.

No, she told herself. He couldn?t possibly have made her fears come true, could he? But why would he come so late at night? Yes he was improper sometimes, maybe a little demanding, but he wasn't aggressive when it came to? No, it wouldn?t be Inuyasha if ever he did sleep with a whore or a slut.

Warm tears stung her eyes and nose, daring to fall abundantly if she thought more of the possibility. The bite on her lower lip hardened enough to bruise. Confusion was starting to drown her, doubt dragging her down. She couldn?t possibly handle Inuyasha sleeping with other women. Before, it was a fear and an expected thing but lately, she has been admitting to herself that she was in love with him? how could she get through it? For quite some time now, she has been trying not to get affected by demons, fallen angels but having the one thing she's fighting for make love to someone else was starting to break her heart. Kagome felt crumbling to pieces.

But she wasn?t even sure yet.

Inuyasha was a very attractive person. It wasn?t impossible that women threw themselves at him. All he had to do actually was say no. The question is, did he?

Trust him, Kagome, she told herself, holding onto the arm that weighed on her waist. With a sigh, she whispered, "I trust you."

"Good."

A.N. I have an indescribable hate for rivals, I am sorry. I don?t like Kikyou, just the way I don?t like Sakura for Naruto. Ahahhaa..

That was awsome! I wasn't expecting that you would introduce so many new charactors in this chapter. I really liked the scene in the bar where Inuyasha just leaves Kikyou just standing there. The end was great, Kagome's confusion of where Inuyasha had been was trumped by her trust for him. Post again soon!

I finally had a chance to catch up to this ficcy of yours, and I must say, I am just as intrigued with it now that things have seemed to get a bit more complicated as I was in the beginning. The entire storyline is so incredibly interesting that I'm so glad to see when you've had a chance to post more.

The Sesshomaru/Naraku thing, I think I need to go back and re-read to refresh my memory, but the (Brief?) Introduction of Kikyo certianly proved to be the best part of this chapter. I've become a firm believer in the fact that while many Inuyasha fans may not particulary like Kikyo, she is an essential part of who Inuyasha is, and why he does many of the things that he does. And I find it interesting how diffrent authors choose to use her to affect Inuyasha and Kagome in diffrent ways.

I enjoy the fact that while she is now the underlying reasson why Kagome is having doubts about Inuyasha's loyalty, she is choosing to trust him rather then pull back from him. But will her blind trust last? I'm excited to see what you have in store for the next chapter.

Keep up the great work, there are so many possibilities to explore with this ficcy of yours ^^
