Reason

One heart to fulfill
Yet two paths to take.
A bond binding for all times,
Writing a never-ending story.

A love for one moment in eternity:
Glorious and heart-wrenching;
An understanding lasting
for one thousand moments in time:
transcending mere human affection.

A tiny pebble of romance
Transformed to a grandeur of love,
Marking history.
No longer a selfish passion
Shared by two star-crossed souls, but
a deep devotion for all under heaven.










Note: This is my understanding of Heero and Relena?s love. I have been, like many others, quite dissatisfied with the ending of GW. (That?s why I wrote fanfics.) I?ve always wanted to see Heero and Relena together living happily ever after or something like that, but I?ve realized that the ending is actually very realistic to their characters. Between Heero and Relena, it?s no longer about love for each other, but love for the people, for the universe. Maybe that?s why Quatre said that Heero is the heart of outer space. I think both of them possess a great heart. I still believe that they care and love each other, but they see the bigger picture and are willing to put their love toward something greater than just romance. They do not need to be together to be happy; they're happy with the knowledge that they're loved and that their love will always be there for each other. I think that's why they are ok with being apart.

I really like this poem as interpretation of Relena and Heero's relationship. It really does hit the main points. Especially this part--

Very deep and yet simple. I love it. :razz:
