Chapter I, Part 1

She was starting to hyperventilate; she felt like she was mere seconds away from suffocating against the duct tape sealing her lips. She tried again, although she knew it would be fruitless, to wring her hands, wanting to relieve them of the rope that confined them so mercilessly, trapping her to the old, creaky wooden chair.

She could hear owls and night crickets chirping melodiously outside the shabby cabin they were in; she could listen clearly to the racket of the trees' braches as they danced against the roof and windows, moved by the invisible wind. She looked around the dark room, trying to find something she could use as a weapon, or, hopefully, a way out. Not for the first time, her eyes lingered on the iron bars that blocked the two small windows near the roof, or the iron, security door that prevented her escape.

Their escape.

A grunt brought her focus to the other lonely chair in front of her; the slumped figure finally, after almost three hours, regaining consciousness. The lone lamplight illuminated the side of his slightly bruised face, creating cryptic hollows and shadows on his skin. He had been dumped unceremoniously onto the chair he currently sat at, after having been knocked unconscious and subsequently, abducted… along with her, of course.

He flexed powerful muscles, as if testing the resistance of his bounds, but then seemed to give up.

When his eyes settled on hers-the blue irises softening as they looked into her eyes, but then hardening as they moved lower, assessing her current state, searching for any bruises or cuts- Relena Peacecraft knew that as long as she remained in his company, her chances of surviving and escaping would be very high.

As opposed to her, he had no gag to smother his words, and his voice was gruff but warm as it carried over to her, trying to calm her down. "Breathe deeply."

Her panicky breathing was starting to suffocate her, labored and coming in a rhythm too fast to be healthy. Her tears of frustration had long since dried on her cheeks, but with his awakening, a new hope had started to breech through her previous rendition, new tears creating clear paths on her foundation-coated cheeks. Her hair had become undone from its confines, resting on her shoulders and back, and the light weight of it on her skin left her feeling smothered and hot, further worsening her current state.

"Baby, breathe, please." He tried again to unsuccessfully pull at his bindings, but after a particular long and hard pull, he grunted in protest as the thick wire cut painfully through the skin of his wrists. "How long was I out?" He asked, but seeing as she couldn't talk, he guessed. "One hour? Two hours?" She shook her head to both his enquiries. "Three hours?" He cursed softly but fluently when she nodded, her breathing pattern having had slowed down somewhat.

His bowtie had come undone, yet he still looked dashing in his black and white tuxedo. She wanted to cry again; never had her future looked so uncertain. It was absolute irony that such a thing would happen on what was supposed to be the happiest day of her entire lifetime.

He was about to say something else when voices were overheard through the thick door, seconds before the locks were turned one by one, followed by the door swinging ominously open.

"My, my, I see you're finally awake. I was starting to think my partner here had gone a little overboard with the dosing." The man moved forward into the light, and Relena felt like blacking out when his face came into view; he was their driver, the man who was supposed to drive their limousine from the church to the hotel. The man took a small dart from his pocket, twirling it absentmindedly. "Efficient little things, don't you think, Ms. Peacecraft?" He raised a hand to his mouth, a mock-gesture of surprise. "I apologize; but you've got to cut me some slack, I haven't had enough time to absorb this… Mrs. Yuy."

"What do you want?" This time it was Heero's voice that cut through the silence, dark and dangerous.

The woman, who had until now remained behind the man, stepped forward, chucking her tongue admonishingly as she moved around Heero like a predator stalking its prey. "Now, Mr. Yuy, are those ways of treating your captors? Weren't you taught in Preventer's School that you should be submissive, especially when there are other lives under your care?" She motioned her head towards Relena. The woman moved again to stand in front of him, so close she was between his knees, and to his and Relena's surprise, she sat down on his lap, running loose fingertips down his neck, to his chest. "You wouldn't want anything bad to happen to your wife, now would you, Mr. Yuy?" She purred playfully. "Because," she whispered near his ear, her breath fanning his hair, "I wouldn't hesitate in getting rid of her." And with that, she pulled his earlobe into her mouth for a lustful suck before she was up in a flash, standing once again behind their other captor.

The man chuckled, clearly amused. "She's terrible, this one." He pointed at the woman with his thumb. "Yet, I advise you better take her warnings seriously… We're Mr. and Mrs. B. You will refer to us as that; got it? I also suggest you don't plan anything stupid, Mr. Yuy. We're going to be watching you. As for your current location, just think you're on a private island; nothing on your perimeter for miles on end. Miles of miles, far from phones, cars and anything remotely close to civilization."

Mrs. B moved behind Relena, undoing her binds, first the ones keeping her hands tied at her back, and then moving to undo the ones around her ankles. "You will find clothes in that closet over there; your food will be brought shortly."

When both captors moved to the door, Mr. B turned around, "you're free to unbind your husband, Ms. Peacecraft-I mean, Mrs. Yuy." He chuckled quietly to himself, shaking his head derisively. "Remember… we'll be watching." He said in a sing-song voice that got muted as the heavy door clanked shut.

It took Relena almost a minute to react, barely wincing as she yanked the duct tape covering her lips before she ran to Heero, fusing her lips to his in a desperate show of passion and fear. They kissed for long seconds, her tears drying on his skin, her hands threaded through his hair before she moved back, breathing heavily; their eyes locked, showcasing all their feelings to the other.

She worked at untying him, cursing softly as the tightly knotted wire refused to give way. It wasn't long before she had undone the bounds around his wrists, and he leaned forward to work on the ones around his ankles, undoing them in seconds before he was up to his feet, grabbing her by the arms and crushing her to his chest, as if trying to shield her from any and all harm. Her body seemed to melt into his, her arms locking tightly around his waist, her lips pressed to the side of his neck; one of his hands played with the wisps of golden hair at her nape, the other, secured around her waist.

"I love you," he whispered fiercely into her ear. "We're going to get out of here, I promise you." He could feel her nodding against his shoulder, her breathing pattern shaky and inconsistent against his neck, as if she was trying to hold in more tears.

"I love you, too," she whispered back.

He stepped back and looked around the room they were locked in, taking into account the double door bureau, the king-sized bed, the two chairs they had been previously occupying, the state of the art television and home theatre set, but more specifically, the long set of mirrors that took up all four walls. Mirrors-Heero suspected-that had to house a surveillance room somewhere behind them.

…And then the vision of his wife still dressed in her beautiful wedding gown, looking radiant and glorious despite the tears staining her cheeks, was all he could see. He traced his thumb over the angry red marks the tape had left around her lips, lowering his head to follow the trails his thumb had just marked with the tip of tongue, soothing and passionate.

It was unbelievable they had gotten married mere hours ago, intending to go to their reception party when they had been abducted. He had just gotten into the limousine when someone had struck him, delivering a powerful hit to his neck that had rendered him unconscious in no time. Now he knew it had been the same driver they had hired, seeing as most of his Preventer comrades were assisting to their wedding as guests.

A swift bang on the metal door snapped him back to attention as a low hatch was opened and a large tray with food was nudged inside. It was all too similar to a high-security prison.

"I'm not hungry." Relena said softly as she moved to sit on the edge of the bed, the mattress giving way under her weight. "For all we know, the food could be poisoned."

"That's not likely." He replied, going to the door to retrieve their meal from the floor. He set the tray on the nightstand with the light on, surveying its contents.

Relena looked stricken for a moment, shaking her head in utter disbelief, angry tears cursing down her cheeks. "That's food from our party. I-Lu and I picked out the menu."

Heero nodded slowly, bringing the tray to come sit beside her on the bed, placing the platter on the bed beside them. She let her head drop onto his shoulder as she halfheartedly picked at the classy canap?s, thinking they really should be at their luxurious hotel room, indulging in champagne and petit fours, enjoying their first night as man and wife. Instead, she thought, her temper rising, they were stuck in this stupid cabin, kidnapped, no less, eating their own wedding hors d'oeuvres.

Heero shoved a mascarpone stuffed mushroom into his mouth, munching thoughtfully as he glanced at the mirrors surrounding them. They were probably made of bendable, security glass; sound proof and most likely, one-way see through. What was most intriguing, though, was the setting. Why would they provide them with all these luxuries? Why hadn't they made their demands? It appeared as though Mr. and Mrs. B intended to keep them there for a remarkable long period of time.

Relena's sudden movement snapped him back to the present, as she moved to the dresser, surveying its contents.

"Heero!"

He was up in a flash, standing beside her as they both peered at what was inside: their clothes. Not just any clothes, but their clothes. Relena also found two rather large plastic make-up bags with their toiletries, including shaving cream, razors, make-up, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, her facial creams and lotions, and other assorted products.

Heero turned and headed for the TV set, turning it on and tuning it to the news channel, to see if they had already been reported missing. The sports segment was on, the anchorman relating the NBA playoff's game results effusively.

Heero turned to his suddenly quiet wife, and his eyes widened when she started to undo the long set of buttons at the side of her gown. He was behind her instantly, turning her around and pushing her back against the closed door of the dresser. Her yelp of surprise was smothered by his lips on hers, while his right hand pulled the bodice closed.

His lips trailed a path of fire down the side of her mouth to her neck, sucking lightly on her skin. "Don't," he whispered hoarsely, his teeth and tongue distracting her from his words. "They are watching us."

"…in other news, it has just been notified that the newlyweds, Heero Yuy and Relena Peacecraft-Yuy, have just boarded their private charter to an unknown destination where they will be staying for two weeks to celebrate their honeymoon.

We were able to get some comments from family members and close friends of the groom and bride. This is what they had to say…"

Heero and Relena could only stare at the screen blankly, at a complete loss of words as the short, bubbly woman interviewed Duo and Hilde, Milliardo, and a smiling Sally Po.

"'Have just boarded a plane'?" Relena asked in a low, dark whisper, her eyes wide with disbelief. "How is that fucking possible!?" She screamed, looking at the mirrors, as if she could see the people behind them.

Chapter I, Part 2

From his perch on the end of the bed, Heero looked over at his sleeping wife. Traces of tears still dusted her cheeks, and he reached over to caress them away. She looked like an angel: her golden hair haloing her head, the wedding gown lightly tracing her curves. He would do anything to know that she would get out of here.

Resolve filled him once more and he refocused his attention on the laptop screen. There would be no easy way of finding an escape plan. More than likely, his actions were being closely monitored. It frustrated him that all he had access to were a few lower caliber news sites and a simple word processor. With his limited resources, he had to outwit their captors. There had to be something overlooked, some way of bypassing the system.

Sunlight peeked shyly through the barred windows, gradually tiptoeing closer to where Heero was working. It played in his bangs, daring to dance into his eyes. He swatted at it first, unaware of the time. As realization set in, he watched as the warm rays moved towards Relena. A part of him wanted to see her bathed in the golden light; another willed her to sleep through as much of the ordeal as she could.

The hollow echo of the first lock turning caused Relena to stir. The second had her sitting bolt upright. Heero shut the laptop and moved over to her, placing his hand in the small of her back. Their eyes didn’t move from the large door, dreading the entrance of their captors.

Through the door came their captors- formally dressed and looking everything like a lustful couple. They stood just inside the way, Mr. B surveying the room and Mrs. B flirting profusely with Heero. “Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Yuy.” Mr. B threw a wink at Relena.

He snapped his fingers and a tray with covered platters rolled into the room. Mr. B moved from his partner’s arm and lifted one of the lids and revealed a tall stack of pancakes. “Breakfast is served.” Mr. B laughed as he uncovered the rest of the dishes. He quickly bowed while Mrs. B curtseyed.

Before leaving, he tossed a newspaper at the foot of the bed. “In case you get...bored.”

Silence descended upon the room after their departure. Heero was still trying to piece everything together. Something was missing. He couldn’t decipher their motive at all. Relena’s arm upon his brought him back to attention. “Heero.”

He pulled her into his arms and kissed the top of her head, reassuring her it would all work out. “Let’s eat. We need strength for when we can escape.” She nodded slowly, still mistrusting the whole ordeal.
