Nonexistant Memory

Sowwie for my part in developing such a remote place in the FMP universe, the characters are all there I am not planning to introduce anything new, except perhaps how I plan to play around with 'em

Large bubbles gently rose to the surface obstructing the view to the outside. Submerged within the watery existence she observed and learned about her world. White coated individuals painstakingly worked upon the steel machinery. Their faces masked, displayed no emotion and more that once it felt unreal. Their tasks were routinely based each day to an hour, funny how it could be timed when it felt nonexistent in her compound.
The body no longer felt as her own, huge wiring had been intricately woven into the system some as deep as her mind. No movements were present in her reality but the constant feeling of emptiness. Beeping noises and humming became the comforting lullaby that tranced her for the ?procedure?. Her mind filed itself into a storage tank of information so much of it that she hadn?t known even existed. Tons of knowledge was stripped and invaded by the laboratory into her conscience. The anger had faded itself and was evaporating constantly with each deeper dive into her mind.
She was becoming weak and exhausted with each performance, her body craved for eternal release from the nightmare, but her stubborn nature remained. Little by little she learned to resist, building inside an invisible wall so unapproachable that she existed only in it. Trapped and alone she had found a pathway to the outside where her distress call still lingered calling for help but dying with effort each day?

Despite the frosty midnight air it felt remarkably hot. Sweating with anticipation the young man watched on his hand-held radar as the little device scanned the perimeter. Flashing a bright red light to the location of his ?mission?. Blowing off steam into the cold he picked up his gun and gently dropped his body into a crouch. Taking a deep breath he motioned to the rest of the group?

-

Something was different she felt it. Opening her bright brown eyes she came face to face with a person. Cruel liquid blue eyes pulsated fear and obedience, a scar running down the length of his cheek to his eye. She would never forget for he was the first being unmasked for so long. The man?s eyes formed into slits of blue menace and his face crinkled into an evil smile. Looking at her he withdrew an object from an inside of his labcoat and pressing the buttons the world collapsed.
The watery existence obliterated its presence, draining swiftly leaving her cold and exposed as the outside finely opened up. Her mask fell to the floor and with deep coughs she watched as the rest of her sanctuary disappeared with the last sparkle from the glassy walls. Wiring snapped its hold from her body painfully ripping itself out and with the last remaining contraption she collapsed unto the floor?

Screaming into his radio the young sergeant positioned his team carefully throughout the compound. Shots rang out by their discovery. Already most of the doors had automatically sealed, the ones that were still open had become unapproachable with the heavy security swarming in it. Flashing lights caught the young man?s attention as an opened hatch released huge mecha armor. It was an old model with primitive arms and no ranged weaponry but at the moment it was all that he needed to finish this off. Grinning at his luck the sergeant planned his position and charged.
The object stood motionless as his strides took him closer and closer and just a moment he pondered whether anyone was even piloting it. Then suddenly the old mecha came to life. Its rusty movements became quick as its head turned to the young man?s direction. The armor charged straight for him.
The sergeant quickly dodged the assault of the flailing arm, rolling unto the snow. Recovering he faced the rusty monstrosity, waiting. The machine lunged once again but stopped in midstride its heavy arms clasping over its head. Something was wrong and not bothering to wait for a better opportunity he ran towards it. Jumping unto the pilot cockpit he wedged a grenade between the hatch and the head of the armor. Landing behind it he laid himself flat as the explosion reverberated through the compound.
For a couple of countless minutes he waited breathing heavily, then what seemed like an eternity he finally got up and scanned the result of his action. Metal scarps were all over the place, walking over to the ruined machinery he glanced at the driver of the armor. The nude form of the girl wasn?t what he had expected to find. Small and pale she laid huddled in the seat covered in blood. Her long blue hair spilled itself around her, hiding her face. Crouching by her the sergeant removed his suit jacket and covering the girl he gently picked her up in his arms, fishing out a small phone form his back pocket he dialed and waited.
An answer came at the other end of the line; balancing the discovered prize in his arms he placed the phone between his shoulder and ear and mouthed a single answer:
?It?s over.?
