The BMW Custom slammed into the water and shot foward. He glanced back at Relena who was close to having a heart attack.
"My name's Ben," he said spinning the wheel around and directing the car through the sea, "I was hired by a woman named Sophie to bring you to her ship The Miracle."
"This is a kidnapping," Relena spat out, still breathing hard.
"Would you prefer the Addict got you first?" he asked not looking for her response. The car began to climb and surfaced. Relena stared in shock and wonder.
She had been expecting a sleek silver ship, something with more gadgets than she knew what to do with--like most of the ships she had been on. what greeted her was a wooden schooner.
The boat had two masts reaching up with thick creme colored canvas sails billowing down from them. THe dark wood was emblazed with the words:
El Milagro
The Miracle
Relena knew she was in trouble.
"Radar thinks this is a mistake, nothing this big or 'slow' exists anymore. She's shallow enough to avoid all your mines and submarines always seem to miss her," Ben said pulling beside the ship. Relena was numb, even as he pushed her onto the deck.

Dias stared.
The man in front of him was no doubt an Addict. His pale skin, bloodshot eyes and sharp teeth identified him easily. However, he was much calmer than any other Addict Dias had ever encountered---including himself.
"Avery," he said nodding to Dias. Dias assumed this was his name but didn't offer his own. Avery clearly knew it already, "walk with me."
Dias shrugged and walked next to Avery. For a moment both were silent, then Avery laughed and shook his head.
"We would have never met if this hadn't happened," he said, "if we both hadn't become Addicts to that drug. I was a fighter in the war, you fought in your own personal war--we both almost died for what we believed in at the time."
Dias stared at him, completely enthralled.
"But we know better now," Avery said facing Dias, "you know who is responsible for this don't you? Our fighting, our Addiction? Darlian. First her father, then her. She deserves to pay for the blood she spilled with her silly ideals of peace. She deserves to die and suffer until she is dead. I want her world ripped apart."
"What do I have to do with this?" Dias asked suspiciously.
"One of my men was supposed to kidnapp her and bring her back to me earlier today. He was stopped by someone who took her on an amphibian craft to a ship, 'El Milagro'--"
"The Miracle," Dias muttered.
"Exactly. Well she's on the ship now. I want you to persue her."
"How much will you pay me?" Dias asked curiously.
"I will pay you something incredible valuable," Avery said carresing Dias's face. Dias tensed up, then felt his arm dislocate with a jerk. Biting back a cry, he looked over. The pale hand of Avery wrteched his arm back into place. Dias gasped as he felt something hard between his bones, "wedged between your wrist is a metal plate wired with explosives and tracking devices. You try to tamper with it and I will kill you. When I have the Darlian's head on my desk, I'll remove it."
