As I travel down these jagged stone steps,
The dark mist surrounds me. The schizophrenic moon,
In all her glory, radiates her beauty upon us unworthy
Humans, unaffected by our trifles and corruptions.
She leads the way, my Selene,
Illuminates my footsteps, clarifies my path.

Cold slices through my body like shattered ice,
My breath visible to the eye in the midnight air,
The sound of my feet marking impending doom.
The journey is long, lonely, and wintry,
The end of which will surely lead to my death,
But with the chaste Artemis at my side,
The voyage provides an introspective catharsis.
Diana?s soothing balm grants me the peace I have searched for so long,
With such a zealous impetus that nearly consumed my soul.

Although my death is early, it is inevitable,
And I welcome Death with open arms,
For my time here is up, my work done.
Guide me, Hecate, show me the way.
I am ready.

I always enjoy poems like this. It has a really almost cryptic feel, mystic in a way. There's something about its aura that sends chills running down my spine. Very nice work. I look forward to more.
