Signature Images

I'm not sure if I'm an idiot and just can't find/understand how to put an image into my signature...so if anyone could offer some insight...that would be great!

You can use the img tag, but I advise you not to post any images larger than the acceptable size for an avatar - due to the fact that not everyone has a fast connection. People on dial up do not like big signature images, and if I notice a signature image that's too large, I will reduce it for the person myself.

Also, please do not link images on sites that do things like pop up alerts everytime the image is called from their webserver. Or geocities images that won't allow remote loading.

miz_lou, it needs to be uploaded to somewhere on the internet that allows you to display images that way.

I can't think of any right now, but if I do I will give you the link.

Hey people, hope I found the right thread... Anyway, I'm having some signature problems, the rather slim image I try to put in it doesn't show up, and there's no error message. See that blank line in my current sig? A 314 x 89, 10.1 KB image is supposed to be there. When I'm in the edit-sig area and press "preview", it shows up like it should, but after "submit" or in public profile view, its not there. Any ideas, anyone, maybe an error on my part? Thanks. Ciao!

[edit] I just pressed "preview" for this post, and the image shows up. Confusion... (lets see if it shows up if I press "submit", eh?)

[edit 2] Okay, conclusion: the submit button does not like my sig image. What the hey? *disgruntled* Its not that big either, see the -=-=-=- line, its the same length as that... :?

Sometimes when you hit "preview" then it adds extra apostrophe's or slashes or quotation marks to the image you're trying to use. When that happens then the image won't show up because there's too many extras that shouldn't be there.

Just remember, Rose does not want large signature images. Around here, it really isn't about the images in your sig that make who are, but either the phrases used (look at Adaon's "Don't get stuck on stupid" which is brilliant) or just your reputation over time.
