At Preventer's Headquarters on earth some poor recruit was getting an earful from noin "How many times do I have to tell you!!!"
"I'm sorry lieutenant it won't happen again"
"You're right it won't happen again........" her rantings were suddenly interrupted.
"It won't happen again agreed" the soldier nodded "good you're dismissed" Zechs had saved the recruit from more humiliation.
"Noin you need to relax, you've been here three days straight and......"
"Relax, relax how on earth can I relax with Alex out there in the hands of god knows or even what these people are capable of, frankly I'm surprised you aren't more upset by this." Noin retorted.The room was suddenly silent "Zechs I'm sorry I didn't mean to........" before she could finish he had already started to walk away. "Oh Zechs"
Later that day Colonel Une called yet another meeting with the four gundam pilots Noin and Sally but no Zechs.
"I'm glad you all could make it, are there any developments in the kidnapping." no one answered "I see"
"Une don't you think it's time we told Relena about this it doesn't seem like we're going to be able to do this without her" Sally said but she got no response from her superior. It was then Trowa's turn to speak
"We haven't found any evidence and I can assure you staying in this office and talking about it all day isn't going to help our situeation"
"Are you implying that we're aren't doing enough Trowa? if you have a problem with the waty things are going please let me know and I'll happily dismiss you"
"That won't be necessary Une "im sure it's just the pressure that's getting to him, it's getting to all of us" Noin came to Trowa's rescue
"I understand"Une replied. "We're all under pressure"
"Tell me Une why wasn't any evidence retrieved form Relena's home and what happened to the bullet that killed the maid was it even examined?" Quatre asked
"Unfortunately the house wasn't searched the preventers that went to the scene said they were unable to find anything because of contamination reasons, they said that the man who found Emilia's body had touched a considerable amount of things. As for Emilia's body it was sent to the coroner's but because of a mix up was cremated before a proper autopsy could be done so the bullet was never retrieved or examined" Une told them. Everyone was shocked, their only hopes had been shot.Either luck wasn't on their side or this case was being seriously sabatoged.
"Une is it possible that one of our own could be doing this. let's examine the facts the people who did this must have known that Relena wasn't going to be there and from the reports their wasn't any forced entry which means Emilia probably knew or thought she knew who was at the door and the only people who had a right to be there at that time were preventers"Quatre said then Trowa almost as if mirroring his thoughts continued where he left off "And it's more than coincidence that the preventers that were assigned to the house weren't there"
"I refuse to believe that one of our own is behind this" Une practically shouted.
"We have to follow all leads no matter where they lead" Sally replied
"You're right Noin and Sally I want you two in the surveilance room monitoring the cameras, Trowa you and Duo are stationed at the Information center no one's allowed in unless special claerance is given by me, Wufei you and Quatre are to check the mission assignments make sure the right people are where they're suppose to be at the correct time, if it is one of our we'll find him meeting adjourned. Every turned to leave but no one stepped foot outside Une's office they were all frozen in their spots..........In fornt of them stood a teary eyed Relena.
"Relena" Noin whispered. Relena closed her eyes and took a deep breath
"You knew....you knew all this time she tried to stop the tears but she couldn't they were flowing freely now "How could you do this!!!!!!" she screamed
"Relena we wanted to tell you" Noin who was now crying out of both guilt and pain said.
"What was stopping you God! I'm sure he didn't tell you not to tell me"
"Relena we did what we thought was right" Une said
"Right right not telling me that my son's gone and Emilia's dead is what you consider as right" with those words Relena broke down. this was probably the worst she cried since the call she got the pain of hearing of Emilia's death and the pain of the fact that her friends knew and refused to ell her was too much. Up to now none of them had really felt the pain but seeing Relena like this, in a fit of tears brought tears to their eyes as well. Trowa couldn't bear it anymore he bent down and picked his firend up off the floor and hels her close although it did little to stop Relena pain .They stayed that way for a little while before Relena pushed away its not that she didn't appreciate his kindness she just wasn't in the mood. Before anyone could offer her any explanations Relena had ran down the hall, barely able to see through her tear filled eyes but some how she managed to find her car.She opened the door and slammed it shut behind her, then proceeded to take out her frustrations on the steering wheel. She found herself once again in tears * how can this be happening * she thought.She had come to preventers for help but not even they could help her.The thought of helpleesness filled Relena for the first time and it shattered her already broken heart. She sat behind the wheel of her car about five minutes ....then suddenly without warning Relena sped off from the parking lot down the highway. Surely she was exceeding the speed limit but she didn't care.Right now the only thing on her mind was her son and how to get him back. When she finally stopped she was infront of an apartment building, for a second she hesitated but she quickly reverted. Although she couldn't keep herself from reminising of the past and the many times she ahd been here. She headed up the stairs to the room she knew so well..... room 01. She knocked on the door , a few seconds later the door opened and she was standing face to face with him. In a voice barely above a whisper she said
"I need your help"
