[Perfect Soldier]

I'd just like to say this poem was brought about by inspiration from my older brother. There are things about him I just can't understand but i'm realizing more and more now. Thanks Jeff, this one is for you...

Another day, another lie
Pull the mask down over your face
Your emotions they cannot trace

The perfect disguise
What do you try to hide?

Put on a smile
They?d never suspect
You don?t feel any happiness

Like a puppet on a string
A slave to your emotions
Writhing in disparity,
Looking for what makes you human

The slightest touch of her hand, your heart swells
Released from the shackles of lies
All you need is her
And it comes out?
That, for which you fear,
Your true self

Defenses crumble
Tears leak out
A soul scarred with so many faults
She fills you up, takes away the doubt

Like an angel
She erases the pain
Gives you hope
Never to let her go
She lives within your soul

Confiding in her every minute, everyday
If only she were able to stay
Nothing good can ever last

Waken again to an empty bed
True to your emotions you said,
?Don?t leave me. Need me.?

The way he needs her
And the way she needs him
Masquerading in shadows till night falls again
Only humans could be this way
Hiding emotions they can?t convey

You could just say?
We?re all fake
