What the Books Never Bothered to Say
?Time is a barrier between us.?
You know too much and I know too little.
Look at your calloused hands, worn by the years that have creased itself on your face.
I gaze at mine and only see faint lines.
One of us frowns.
You?ve seen too much while I can only imagine in futile attempts.
Some things you never tell. Perhaps you never will.
Not even to me.
But you know where you?ve been or so it seems.
Seen the world.
Done it all.
Died.
Twice.
?You wouldn?t know??
You don?t care enough that I love too innocently.
Ignoring my actions and betraying my emotions.
Knowing perfectly well that it tears me up inside.
And yet, you hold my hands and caress my cheek.
?When you kiss me, I want to die.?**
You?re cold.
Like a gun.
And I am the trigger.
No, there is too much of a gap that?s set in-between us.
??and you?re just too willing to let it go.?

That was really beautiful, Calla Lily! I love stories which say so much with so few words. This was really just . . . serene and tragic, all at once. Wonderful piece.
