I'd be Lost Without You
AN: This is just an idea I?ve been playing with for a while. However, I wanted to see if there was any interest in it before proceeding. Don?t expect a new chapter any time too soon though, it?s still in the planning stages. And don?t worry Beehive fans, I promise not to start anything else until I get the last chapter of The Beehive out.
I?d be Lost Without You
(the title might change)
Pilot Chapter
There was no actual pain; it was just some distant part of her, which knew she was hurt. None of it made any sense, she wasn?t even sure exactly where she was, let alone how she got there or why. She wasn?t even sure of the details of her existence as she thought about it.
There were voices, distant, almost inaudible but voices nonetheless. None of them seemed familiar though.
?Is this her room??, asked a female voice.
?Yes?, answered a somewhat husky male voice.
?Well, can I enter?? the first voice sounded again, sounding slightly annoyed.
?Yes?, the second voice responded plainly.
The steps seemed to come closer to her, and a womanly hand grasped her own. She desperately wished she had the strength to keep her eyes open but found that even the little bit of light that was let in by what she could manage overwhelmed her.
?Relena, dear??, the womanly voice whispered as a second soft and tender hand brushed against.
?Don?t touch her head?, there was a third voice, this one was deep and masculine, ?you might cause further injury.? Despite the sharp urgency of the message she had heard this voice several times before this new woman arrived.
The hand withdrew with a sense of anger. ?Don?t lecture me Mr. Yuy! She wouldn?t have even been here at all if you Preventers would have done your job!? This very emotional voice, she was hearing seemed familiar. She hadn?t heard it before now but she recalled it from somewhere.
She had no idea how long she had been in her semi-conscious state but she felt it was time to try and speak. However, upon her attempt to force sound out of her mouth she was reminded of why she hadn?t said anything yet, the tube down her throat. Still, determined to be notices, she tried to force some type of sound while squeezing the woman?s hand as tightly as she could.
Her actions seemed to incite the woman into a panic, ?Oh dear? Doctor! Doctor! Something is wrong!?
She opened her eyes, just a sliver; enough to catch a glimpse of the two people in the room. The woman was about middle aged, advanced in her years but certainly not old. Her hair was pinned up and of a light brownish blond color but since she was turned away towards the door she couldn?t see her eyes. She wore a violet blouse and probably a matching skirt; judging by her pearl necklace, the earrings and her diamond ring, she was a woman of high standing. The man, who had just bent over to look at her face, was clearly Asiatic but had blue eyes. His hair was dark brown and he wore a black jacket with brown shoulder and crested with an insignia she vaguely remembered.
?I think she?s waking up?, the Asian man calmly stated as she fluttered her eyes again.
A man in a white jacket, brandishing a clipboard, rushed into the room, ?What?s the matter.?
?She started making the most awful noises?, the woman lamented, ?can?t you take that horrible contraption out of her??
The white coat?s face grew calm and then stern. He pushed his glasses in tighter against his nose ?Are you Mrs. Darlian?? he asked.
?Yes?, the woman replied immediately.
?Mrs. Darlian?, began the doctor, ?we need to keep her on the machine to make sure she doesn?t stop breathing.?
?I think she?s waking up?, the Asian man, who she could now see had a very well built body, repeated himself. This time he seemed a bit more harsh and usual.
?Let me see?, the doctor came to the other man?s side of her bed while pulling a small pen shaped light out of his shirt pocket. She was then treated to the uncomfortable sensation of her eyelids being lifted open by cold hands while a light a light shown into them. He then held that despicable silvery stick up like pointer, ?Ms. Darlian, if you can hear me, try to follow this light pen with your eyes.?
Not wanting to have air forced into her lungs by a machine anymore, she complied, hoping it was the path to freedom.
?I think you might be right?, the man seemed reluctant, ?I think I?ll get the other?s opinion though, before we do anything.?
More time elapsed, it might have been minutes, hours, a day possibly; it was all the same to her. Eventually, a person dressed in blue, accompanied by the doctor, entered the room. After some soft spoken chatter between them and the woman that had been holding her hand they had gone through the grueling process, at least on her part, of removing the tube from her wind pipe. The doctor stuck around for a while longer observing her breath. Satisfied that she was alright he turned to the woman he had referred to earlier as Mrs. Darlian, and instructed, ?if there are any problems call for help.?
?Relena??, the blue eyed Asian sighed.
?Relena, dear??, the woman cooed. She gently stroked her hand and continued, ?You gave me such a scare dear. Are you feeling alright now.?
Dumbfounded and hoarse, she said nothing.
?Relena??, the man inquired.
Relena looked to the woman and to the man again. Not sure she could say much of anything with her throat as sore as it was, she simply asked the first question she could think of. ?Who are you??

I like! Many possibilities go through my head...interesting ones esp. how she will treat all the people she was closest to (*wink* Heero!). Ha! She can't remember Heero! Will that mean he will be the one chasing after her this time? What about the other people? Will there be further complications? As they say "tune in next time to..." chapter 2?

Definitely continue with this story! I agree with Katisha- it should be funny to see Heero's reaction and see if he's heartbroken and has to be the one to chase after her, for a change. Ha!
Uh, I mean, not funny . . . sad. It would be sad to see Heero heartbroken. (devilish grin) Please do continue!
