[Kagome's Inuyasha]

Inuyasha grabbed the small fox by the tail and held him upward to examine him. ?Hey! Put me down, you mongrel!? came the cry of the defenseless Shippou as he batted his scrawny arms and legs at the dog boy. ?I ain?t done nothin? wrong!? he continued as he curled up and sank his teeth into Inuyasha?s hand.

Inuyasha let out an earsplitting yelp, recoiling in sudden pain as he jerked from the small child, dropping him onto the leathery seat. Taking in deep breaths through his flaring nostrils, he remained silent as he kept the gaze on the small boy. Never removing his glare, he began to lightly suck the blood from the back of his hand from the three small rips the fox?s teeth had caused.

Kagome, still shocked from the entire ordeal, squatted next to the fox boy and asked his name. He replied his full name in a scarce tone.

She smiles at Shippou. ?Don?t worry, he?s basically harmless under all the hot skin? Kagome stated with an audible giggle. ?Well, Shippou,? she continued, ?How did you get here??

?I fell through the well you and your mate jumped through when I checked to see if you were gone.?

Kagome smiled in a sweet, yet blushing manner. ?He?s not my mate! Only a friend? she then added ?besides, that?s weird, I though only Inuyasha and I could fall through the well to my time??

Inuyasha ceased his personal cleansing, still glaring at Shippou. He spoke finally in a deep tone ?what?re you here for, to steal her from me?? he asked in a rather gullible tone ?well you can have ?er! She?s too?uncute.?

Kagome exchanged emotions of surprise quickly before she veered up at the boy. ?What did you say?!?? she started, a mixed emotion of hatred and hurt rang throughout her face. ?YOU?RE SO MEAN!? She yelled, tears now in her eyes.

Inuyasha merely replied with an audible ?Feh.?

Shippou jumped onto Kagome?s shoulders and began to swear at Inuyasha. ?You meanie! Why do you have to treat her like that!? You know she?s cute, you?you meanie!?

Inuyasha half smirked as he narrowed his eyes in boredom at the fox. ?Work on your insults, you flea bitten sack of puss,? were his only words as he began to trot back to the well house.

Shippou spoke through a deep sigh ?What an idiot he is?? he said as he leaned down into Kagome?s red, tear driven face ??why the crying? He didn?t mean it??

Kagome looked up at Shippou, she snorted a bit and dried her eyes with her shirtsleeve. Silence befell them for several moments as she caught the after-crying hiccups. ?I know??she hiccupped twice quickly??he doesn?t mean it, he?s just a bit mean sometimes. I know??another hiccup??he loves me; he just doesn?t know how to say it. But why does he have to??alas, hiccups once again??call me names like that..??

Shippou glared at his new friend in confusion ?how does he love you if he treats you that way?? he asked as he climbed off her shoulders and into her lap.

?He?s not had the best life, really. It?s the only way he knows how to act.?

?Why was he treated that way??

?Half, he?s half demon and half human. He thinks he has no place, especially after his previous love??Kagome snarled her face into a disgusted look of sickness??and my previous incarnation, died fifty years ago in his time.?

?yes, but I just wish I could show him that he has a place?in my heart.? Kagome cleared her throat and sniffled before continuing, her face now returning to it?s natural fair tone ?why can?t he see that I love him??

Kagome half looked back toward the sacred tree Inuyasha was previously pinned to ?I know. He doesn?t want to leave me. Dunno if it?s because of the Kikyou in me?. Or the jewel shards??

Shippou stared up at Kagome with hope in his eyes. ?go talk to him? tell him how you feel!? he said as he pushed on her slender stomach.

Shock filled Kagome?s eyes. ?I can?t just do that!?

?then at least go talk to him!?

?NO!?

?Do it! You know you want to? I?ll go with you.?

?What do you think he?ll say??

?Probably something mean? but if you really think he cares, then just talk to him!?

?Fine? if you?ll stop buggin? me about it.?

Kagome removed herself from the car seat and started to slowly pace over toward the tall dog boy staring into the wind in the direction the leaves of his tree were swaying. ?Take me away?? he moaned audibly as he closed his eyes.
