The Pain Within part 10
This man somehow brought out the worst in her .He had only glared at her, but still she lost her temper.
She had caught him off guard. She knew this would not happen again if this turned into a fight.
A quick look at the green-eyed man confirmed her suspicion that he was raising an eyebrow to her.
The man had raised himself back on his feet.
The glare, if this was even possible, had intensified.
?Were is Relena?? He asked his voice monotone yet icy.
Gaia raised her shoulders.
?I know you know where she is.? He said treat now evident in his voice.
Gaia suddenly found her fingernails very interesting.
She sighed.
?Even if I did know, which I don?t, I wouldn?t tell you.? She replied.
The death glare he gave her was enough to kill any innocent creature.
Once again the two had a glare contest, only this time her enemy was cautious not to be hit.
?Yo yo! Look euhm I think we got off in a bad start here.? The braided man said stepping between the 2 of them.
?Look I?m Duo, and that is Quatra and Wufei.? Duo pointed at the guys. Quatra raised his hand and gave her a brilliant smile, weven though it was forced. And Wufei gave her a nod. . ?And the one you?ve been glaring at is Heero.?
Something clicked inside her head, Relena had talked a lot with her, and those names rang a bell. No, more like a siren.
?Ow, and the guy with the weird hair is.?
?Trowa, I know.? She interrupted him.
Trowa?s visible eye widened for a split second, just enough for her to notice.
She nodded her head towards the green eyed man before continuing her glare, only this time on the braided man now know as Duo.
The man gulped and decided to stand behind Heero.
?Do you know Dr. Lotus?? Hero asked, holding back his anger.
?Yes, I do. I?m one of his patients.? The word ?patients? was forced from a clenched jaw.
Quatra suddenly gave her a look of sympathy, which she dismissed immediately.
Gaia could feel herself slipping even though nothing was causing her to be mad.
Maybe it was her heart that beated in her chest like it would burst out of there any minute. This was mostly because of Trowa, his gaze made her feel dizzy but stabile at the same time. Her knees were weak even though she was still standing. She had never felt this before, this tightness in her chest. It didn?t feel right, yet so unbelievably good.
It unnerved her, she couldn?t place this feeling. It irritated her, so much that she could barely keep from beating somebody.
And then she just let go. Her sight was out of focus, and she didn?t know what she was doing, but she didn?t care anymore.

Relena didn?t know what to do, she wanted to find Gaia but how would she know where to go?
The woods around the Victoria Falls was gigantic, it was like finding a needle in 600 haystacks.
Relena took a deep breath and she lowered her eyes to the floor in defeat.
She raised an eyebrow at the footprint in the mud. That was not hers. She followed the footprints to the base of a tree. ?I guess Gaia likes climbing.?
She jumped and grabbed the lowest branch and started climbing.
When she reached one of the highest branches she found mud on it. But the brach above her head did not. Relena looked around and saw a tree close to her. She decided to act on her instinct on jump.
She landed safely on a branch and found jet more mud on a branch beside her.
Relena jumped from tree to tree, until the mud trail stopped. She knew she had to be out of luck sometime. And this was it, no more signs of were she might be. Nervously Relena looked around, trying to find at least one clue.
A broken stick on a tree left got her attention. Maybe her luck hadn?t run out just yet.
She jumped to the next tree, and then she had the same dilemma as before. No more clues this time no mud no broken sticks, nothing.
Relena sighed. ?What to do now?? She asked herself out loud.
She settled on jumping down and search on foot in the direction Gaia had been going so far.
She walked around looking at trees for any kind of clue that might help her.
After 10 trees, she had given up hope. She had lost Gaia?s trail.
She seated herself against a tree and closed her eyes to think. A weird feeling crept up to her. She didn?t know what to make of it, only that it was telling her that she needed to go right.
?Well, I don?t have anything to do now, so I quess I could go that way.? She thought to herself.
It didn?t take her long to hear somebody groan.
Relena climbed up a tree, it made her feel save and unnoticed so she could approach the person.
What she saw did not make her happy.
Gaia stood right in front of the tree she had climbed into. When she looked further she saw 6 other persons. She recognized them but had a hard time bringing back their names.
?Where?s Relena?? The chocolate hared man asked.
That voice, how he spoke her name, it was all to familiar. She tried to grasp the picture in her head, but the more she tried, the more she didn?t see it.
?Where?s Relena, I won?t ask again.? When he spoke again she suddenly remembered.
Wufei, Trowa, Miliardo, Quatra, Duo and of course Heero, she remembered all of them.
She saw Heero glare at Gaia, and she was probably glaring back cause Heero kept intensifying his glare.
She saw something change in Gaia?s posture, the way she kept her back and her shoulders. There was just a slight change, when suddenly Gaia reached back to hit Heero.
Relena?s eyes grew wide. Her reflexes were faster that she could regain her composure because she suddenly received Gaia?s blow.
Relena touched her lip and found blood on her fingers. ?Hello Gaia.? She managed to get out.
?Hello Relena, long time no see.? She said, a sarcastic smile on her face.
Relena tilted her head in a mocking kind of way. And kicked Gaia right in the gut.
Gaia reached for her stomach, but regained herself within a few seconds. Gaia raised her hand to hit Relena once more, but she blocked the attack with her left arm.
?What happened to you Gaia?? Relena asked before blocking yet another attack.
?Nothing, happened to me, I was freed myself from that prison, and am now able to act as myself.?
Relena shook her head. ?No, I know the real you. You are kind and have a large heart.?
Gaia grimaced but received a blow to the face from Relena. She returned the favor before replying. ?I am who I am, and this is it!?
Relena grabbed her jaw as it ached from the blow she had just received. ?Do you remember Gaia? The day you told me that you felt yourself slipping away and becoming somebody else?? Relena asked in her calmest voice.
Gaia just looked at her, not moving a muscle nore saying anything.
?Don?t you remember what I told you that day? To hold on to your memories and all the good things in life?? Still Gaia did not reply. ?I have Gaia, and I still feel like myself, even though I do notice that I have become tougher than I used to be. But you told me you did not no anything good in your life.?
Gaia lowered her head and studied the floor. ?Didn?t I tell you to think of me everytime you felt like that?? Gaia nodded, slowly, she remembered, she remembered everything.
?Then why didn?t you??
?Because I am not as weak as you are.? She replied between her teeth and hit Relena from below against her jaw. Relena fell back and looked right into the stunned eyes of none other than Heero.
He raced forward and raised his arm. ?Don?t you dare hurt her!? He said and hit as hard as he could.
To his suprise he hit nothing but blank air, and Gaia?s elbow had made contact with his stomach. She had hit his weak spot, she bullet wound that had not healed just yet.
Heero coughed up blood and feel to the floor.
?No Heero!? Relena screamed and jumped forward. She hit Gaia with as much force as she had left. And then lowered herself to tackle Gaia.
Gaia was completely suprised by the attack and fell to the floor, before she had time to think about what happened Relena had seated herself on top of her.
Her face had hardened with pure rage, but Gaia saw something in her eyes. She saw hurt, but not for herself but for the man she had just defeated.
Gaia?s eyes softened, Relena was really something special.
The angry expression on Relena?s face slowly softened as she looked into Gaia?s eyes.
?Gaia please.? She said tears evident in her eyes. ?Remember.?
Gaia thought as hard as she could, she had to remember.
A sudden headache came together with a faint picture, it was heavily out of focus.
?Please Gaia concentrate.? Gaia took a deep breath then she opened her eyes and sky blue met icy blue and that was all she needed.
Relena stepped of Gaia and offered her hand. Gaia gratefully took it. They stared at each other for a few seconds, Gaia?s icy bleu pierced Relena. Then they softened and Gaia hugged Relena fiercely.
?Thank you.? She said. And Relena hugged her back. Something wet trailed on her cheek. When she touched it she noticed that she was crying. When she looked at Gaia, she saw that she was crying too.
When Gaia saw the same thing the suddenly both started to giggle.
?Euhm, I don?t want to disturb this little reunion and all.? Duo started. ?BUT SHOULDN?T WE BE TAKING HEERO TO A DOCTOR??
Gaia and Relena both jumped at his sudden volume increase and nodded their heads. ?But what about Lotus?? Gaia asked seriously.
Suddenly the platinum blonde man stepped forward. ?Preventers will take care of them.?
Gaia nodded, she didn?t want to go back there anyway.
Gaia turned to look at Relena, but she had already run to Heero?s aid.
She smiled, they would make a great couple someday.
Gaia?s head started to ache and she reached back to give her hair the much deserved freedom. Miliardo?s eyes stared at her, when she finally noticed she asked ?What??
?You...You look just like Relena, and my mother.? Gaia raised an eyebrow mockingly. ?Are you saying I might be related to you??
Miliardo tilted his head. ?No I?m just saying you look like Relena and my mother that?s all.?
The older man turned around and made his way back from where they had once appeared.
Gaia stept next to Relena and touched her shoulder.
?Are you alright??
?Yeah, I?m fine. Heero just needs to go to a hospital tough.?
?I?m so Sorry Relena. I truly am.?
Relena looked into Gaia?s eyes finding a silent question in her eyes. She couldn?t help but grin.
?You are forgiven.?
Gaia?s face relaxed and she let out a large breath she didn?t know she was holding.
?Let?s go home.? Relena said.
Gaia raised her eyebrow and panic nearly took over her as she didn?t have a home. She had lived with Dr. lotus for way to long.
Relena tapped her finger against Gaia?s nose, which returned Gaia?s attention to her. ?You have the choice of 20 bedrooms, so no worry.?
Gaia smiled. ?Do you mean that?? She asked.
Relena nodded her consent and grabbed her arm as Trowa carried Heero off to the nearby transportation to bring him to the hospital.
