Prologue
The Young Alcoholic
The heavy drops of depression fell upon his cold, stricken face. His cheeks burned, as if he'd been slapped hard, but the temptation to nurse it laid in the far back of his mind. Instead, more fonder memories crept up unknowingly into his eyes of the imaginary.
Dark figures ran around the streets, trying frantically to get to their destinations. Water splashed underneath their feets when they ran to the other side of the road, while he kept on walking. He didn't even see the young woman who stood still at the corner of Demont and Crimson Ave.
Heero..
Those words. They flew to him and stung him hard in the back.
'That voice.'
Was it a dream? He really couldn't tell. Was he imagining things? Or did he really feel it?
Felt it.
Wanted it.
Heero..
This time it sounded more desperate and stabbed him twice as hard. But it didn't send pain. It sent pleasure. A long, waiting pleasure that he had been wanting for so long. He turned his head toward the angelic voice.
And there she was.
He wanted so badly to run to her. To be with her.
To hold her.
To claim her his.
But it didn't come. Everytime he thought of taking a step forward, she did instead. He just stayed in the same spot. Still wet.
One, two, three, and then another and another and by now she was standing in the middle of the road but no matter how much closer she got, the farther away he felt. The rain continued falling and it didn't seem right.
Something was wrong.
The look on her face was freighting. Tears poured down from her cold, dark eyes and onto her bruised, purplish cheeks. Scars were all over her body. Blood strained down on her clothing. And no matter how many times he blinked, he saw someone behind her. A dark black that cast over her fragile body. She seemed taken in to it. Her soul was no longer there.
He didn't even notice that everything stopped. Rain stood still in mid air and as well as the people.
A glint of light struck his eyes and caused him to wince. He hadn't seen daylight in over a week. The weather was just to melancholy. But in time he was able to see the black reveal a dagger. He watched from the other side of the street as the black demon gentle rolled the side of the knife down her left cheek. He could now see brightly colored red dripping down, but she didn't even budge.
The figure brought his head down slowly and licked the blood off her cheek with the expression of a cheshire cat. He smirked and everything started to move again. He felt rain fall on his face. People started moving. He looked up into the sky to see if it was true but when he looked back in front of him, he noticed that the black was gone and all that was left was her.
Or at least until a couple seconds later.
Bright lights lite up the right side of her face but she stood still. No color was on her nor inside of her. He turned his head and saw the bright lights of a truck. His eyes opened in horror as he turned back. He had to get to her. He had to save her. He was her savior.
He ran, or at least he tried. Over and over again he tried but failed each time.
He shouted as he watched the truck drive right on through. The driver didn't even stop. Did he not see her?
He finally felt his legs gain movement again and he ran. Faster then he had ever ran. But..she was gone.
He stopped right where she was standing but there was no body. No trace of anything. He didn't understand. People stopped to look at the man who shouted for some reason. Probably another one going crazy because of the weather, they all thought.
He spun around in confusion. It just wasn't possible. He swore he saw her right there. He saw the truck come and go and he never missed anything. But what happened? And what about that black thing? Was he being tested? He really hated the idea.
As everything goes on, the world stops. Things never make sense.
The rain stopped and within a second, the rain started falling up instead of down. He ran back to his spot on the sidewalk as people looked at him and went back to what they were doing. The truck went back into reverse and he shouted. He saw the black standing again. The saw the truck go by. He felt his back sting and he heard his name being called. He walked backwards down too blocks without out looking at anything but the ground. People passed by as he walked past the stores. Cars drove by splashing water on idiots who stood to close to the roads. He walked back up the stairs in the apartment building, completely dry. The door opened as he walked back in his apartment. He took off his jacket and dropped it on a chair. He walked back towards the couch and the remote flew into his hand. He put his hands down first and then sat himself down ontop of the seat. The television was turned back on and the news flashed across the screen.
".together life happy new a them of both the hope Let's. happened finally has magic the and now years two about for Doralin Miss seeing been had, council ESUN the of member a also is who, Airington. Airington Jacob to today engaged announced officially was, Doralin Minister Foreign Vice"
Time finally came back to its senses and the reporter dialogue was normal.
"Vice Froeign Minister Doralin, was officially announced engaged today to Jacob Airington. Airington, who is also a member of the ESUN council, had been seeing Miss Doralin for about two years now and the magic has finally happened. Let's hope the both of them a new happy life together."
Getting up from his spot, he threw the remote on the couch carelessly and grabbed his jacket from the chair.
He headed out the door to what he believed, was without a cause.
Where was she during all of this? After all this time and constant waiting, she was there. But....was she really?
Hello there, the angel from my nightmare
the shadow in the background of the morgue
the unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley
we can live like Jack and Sally if we want
where you can always find me
we'll have Halloween on Christmas
and in the night we'll wish this never ends
we'll wish this never ends
(I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
Where are you and I'm so sorry
I cannot sleep, I cannot dream tonight
I need somebody and always
this sick strange darkness
comes creeping on so haunting every time
and as I stared I counted
webs from all the spiders
catching things and eating their insides
like indecision to call you
and hear your voice of treason
will you come home and stop this pain tonight
stop this pain tonight
Don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
Don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
Don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
Comments: Well, to be honest.. I don't really know what to say about this. The way how I put the story and song was kinda weird I think. I picture it as something like....hmm..like a beginning to a movie if you get what I mean. Well I just hope that somebody liked it and please give me comments.
I don't own Gundam Wing or Blink 182's songs.
