The Pain Within part 3

She stood gazing trough the bars of her cell door, though she was not able to see anything. She was getting used to the dark.
Her eyes and ears had adjusted to the now known inviorment. Her eyes picked up every tiny trace of light, and her ears could hear a pin drop.

Actually the only thing she heard now was Relena's peacefull snoring.

Gaia couldn't help but smile, Relena whas so innocent. It made Gaia hate the doctor even more. How could he hurt such an innocent and peacefull creature? She could imagine why he did it to her, she wasn't exactly Miss Nice.
Gaia had been trained for special assignments since she was 15, then when Relena took control, and war was no longer an issue, she had been trown away. Pushed aside by her trainers and the hole world.
At one point Gaia started to hate peace and Relena, and a few minutes later, she lost it. She had killed so many, just because her selfcontrol lost it's composure. She wasn't used to that, she had never lost it before.
Gaia pressed a hand against her forehead.
She had thanked god then when Doctor Lotus picked her up and calmed her spirit. But now, she regretted her blessings. She had been locked up in her cell for over 2 years, and had undergone treatment for the last 7 months. It whas pure hell, but it whas not the pain, just the sight of the doctors face. He loved to torture, that whas clearly readeble on his face. And that was what discusted her.
Her ears picked up the faint sound of Relena turning. And Gaia's eyes softened, the girl had a special power to bring a smile to people's faces. Even hers.
Footsteps approached them, and Gai took a step back. But the military boots passed them and a cell door, not far from them.
"No please no not again!" A young voice, male. 'He will die tonight.'

Gaia turned towards her "bed" and laid down. She haden't slept in a few days, it couldn't be bad to try it again, and hope that the nightmares did not return.
She closed her eyes, and almost istantly she fell asleep, she had never noticed that she was so tired.

******************

Her eyes gazed along the shoreline as she watched the sunset.
The suns rais gave her their final warmth before the night embraced her.
She inhaled the fresh evening air and felt perfectly at ease.
The water was a deap ocean blue, and it reminded her of her own eyes, that she once saw in the mirror.
Her golden blond hair danced with the wind as she stretched her arms, giving herself the fealing of flight.
A smile crossed her face as she closed her eyes to fully enjoy the moment.

A few seconds she stood there when suddenly 2 arms circled her waist.
"It has been a long time since I dreamt of you, where have you been?" A young mans voice asked her.
"I haven't gone to sleep in days, I had to keep watch over my new neighboor." She replied leaning her head against the mans chest. Her hands now hold his hands in a sign of affection.
"I always meet you in dreams, but how do I know your real?" He asked her in a whisper. "I could ask you the same thing."
A chuckle left his mouth as she enjoyed the low rumble in his chest.
She turned to look into the mans eyes. His mouth didn't tell much but his eyes spoke a thousand words. And that was all she wanted and needed.
For minutes they just held each other, enjoying the others presence when Gaia opened her eyes, a terrible feeling shot trough her system.
Something whas not right. She looked up to her lovers face when she noticed he was looking at the sky to the right, a growl on his face.
She dared to look at what he was looking at, and it shocked her.

The sky at the horizon whas even darker then the night sky. Her mouth fell open as realistation hit her, the nightmare was about to start.
The dark clouds moved forward with unkown speed. There was no need to run, it would only cost precious energy.
The sea's waves were getting higher every second. Nearly hitting the lovers each time. Then the dark cloud hit.
The wind whas increadible, and so whas the sound. It overloaded her ears. She couldn't hear anything, it just hurt so bad. It felt like her ears where about to pop out of her skul.
She dug her face in that of her protector, but suddenly she realised he wasn't there.
She was all alone, in a terrible storm.

Rain hit her face, poking her like needles. She ran, she didn't know where to, she just ran as fast as her legs could take her.
She saw houses, trees, nothing giving her a sign of recognation. Then suddenly she came across a large gate, and she stopped.
Her eyes traveled to the house at the end of the lane and traveled up.
The mansion whas enormous, and extremely beautifull.
There was something about it that made her think, flashes of her past whent trough her brain. But they were to fast to grab hold off.
But there was no doubt in her mind that she knew this house. Then her eyes caught on a smale sign next to the gate.
The wind whas extremely cold, and the rain didn't make anything better. But she didn't notice any of this because the sign gave her goosebombs. It read "Peacecraft mansion, Sanc Kingdom."

*******************

Gaia shot up in her cell, and gasoed for air.
She had been wrong hoping for no dreams. But again she dreamt, somehow she was glad to see her loved one once more. A silent smirk landed on her face, but at the memory of the sign she frowned deaply.
How did she know the Peacecraft mansion? How come she knew she had been there before?
She drew a hand trough her hair and put it in a pony tail. She sighed heavely, as she laid down ones more and tried to concentrate on her loved one.
But somehow this whas to no avail, her mind kept wondering to the mansion.
She got up and once more took her position at her cell door.
Relena was no longer peacefully breathing but was heavely breathing just like Gaia did a few seconds ago. She heard Relena whisper softly. "Stupid dream."
Gaia smirked, so she as well had a not so pleasant dream.
"You had a dream?" she asked.
"Yeah, more like a nightmare."
Somehow Gaia got a strange feeling about the dream, this whas more then that. She didn't know how she knew she just knew.
"Tell me." She said simply, but no more words where needed, she learned that from her dream lover. Who she deaply wanted to be real. Her heart beated faster in her chest everytime she thaught of him.

"Well, it's about these 2 guys I know they are prefenters and are trying to rescue me. But somehow they end up in France at a mansion near Paris. And the two guys approach the front door and break in. Then a bomb goes of and all I see is one of the men lying in a pool of blood. But i..it can't be true. Why would they be in France?!" Relena gave a sigh, and Gaia once more smirked, she definately wanted to get that off her chest.

Then something clicked in Gaia's head, so this dream WHAS real. 'She doesn't understand the difirence between real and fiction dreams, I'll help her.'
"You know, our doctor does have a mansion near Paris in France."
Gaia paused for a second before continueing.
"As I said yesterday Relena, the treatment has other sideaffects. This could be one of them. What you saw might be what really happened."
Gaia heard Relena nearly choke. And then a few soft sobs where heard form her, and Gaia frowned.
"Don't cry Relena, you didn't see them die now did you?"
"No, but *snif* the explosion *snif* whas so *snif* hugh! *snif snif*."
Gaia sighed, this girl had little hope.
"But that doesn't mean anything now does it. A man can survive a lot."
Relena kept sobbing. And Gaia's frown deepened.
"Relena, stop crying." A little irritation escaped in her voice.
"I...I Can't!" Relena said between sobs.
That whas the drop, Gaia felt angre bubble from the pit of her stomach.
"Yes you can!" Gaia bit back. "Listen to me Relena! You're dream was you looking at something that happened at that very moment with somebody you really love. Now if you concentrate hard enough and stop crying you WILL be able to make that connection again. Just trust yourself!"
Gaia heard Relena stop sobbing, she was shocked. And so whas Gaia, Relena whas able to bring emotions out of her like only her lover could. 'This girl is special.' She thaught to herself with a half smile.
Relena didn't continue her sobbing, but asked after a short moment.
"Euhm, where do I have to concentrate on."
Once again Gaia felt the angre once more.
"On the person you want to see of course!"
A few minutes of silence followed. And Gaia waited till Relena had a connection.
"You see I can't!" She suddenly snapped, dissapoinment evident in her voice.
"Yes you can Relena, just relax and concentrate. Don't make it to hard on yourself. You can do it, believe it!"
Relena went silent once more and Gaia felt the precence of a faint connection. "What do you see Relena?" She thought calmly not wanting to break the connection with actual sound.
"I see a white room." She replied.
"And what else?"
Then Gaia felt the connection took up strength, Relena whas a natural.
"Heero!" Relena suddenly shouted.
"What do you see Relena?" Gaia thaught once more.
"He's in the hospital. All kinds of tubes are attached to him." Relena started sobbing again. But the connection didn't weaken. "A nurse is walking in, she's checking him. She's saying something."
"What is she saying?"
"I don't know, I can't hear her." Relena said between sobs.
"Concentrate Relena, you can hear her if you want to."
Gaia felt the connection strengthen even more. It whas quite powerfull, asspecially for a beginner.
After a minute or 2, Relena's sobs stopped and a small laughter whas heard.
"That Duo." She said silently.
"You convinced?" Gaia said with a hint of humor in her voice.
"Yes, thanks a lot Gaia. That really helped."
Gaia once again smiled, nobody ever thanked her for anything.
"Your welcome, glad I could help."
She heard Relena once again laid down on her bed, and gave a heavy sign.
Her breathing came in natural paterns, she was once more asleep.
Gaia then started to wonder why her voice whas so nice to Relena, normally it always sounded cold and monotone.
'Maybe this girl brings out the best of me.' She thaught before reasumeing her postion at the cell door, and listen to the sounds around her. Protecting the person next to her. Who had somehow captured her friendship.

So, does Gaia have some mysterious link to the Pececrafts? This story is really great. Keep up the good work!
