Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam Wing. It belongs to Sunrise Agency and all those nice people. *sniff* I wish it were mine, though.
Current mood: Happy because we are going to see a play tomorrow...so be glad I haven't been bitten by the angst vampire - yet. Oh, and thanks to all the people who posted for Hole In My Heart. Appreciate your support and boosting my self-confidence a bit, while I wrote that ficlet with my confidence at zero level. Thanks! Oh, and this is also kind of fun, not angst.

There's No Such Word As Won't
Prologue
Relena frowned at her reflection and sighed. She was beginning to think that ever meeting Heero Yuy was a mistake. 'Yeah,' she thought sarcastically. 'If it was a mistake, then it was a mistake I don't really regret at all...until now."
She yanked her hair out of the braids and left them loose and wavy. She was going to give up on Heero Yuy once and for all, she thought determinedly. He had done nothing but prod about in her security system, insisting she stayed safe, for the past three days, and she was getting annoyed. Especially when she woke up in the middle of the night to get hot cocoa and he was prowling about in her room. She was most especially embarrassed because she was wearing horrible but comfortable camel brown pajamas, but he hadn't seemed to mind, just scowled at her and got the hot cocoa. She thought the blush on her cheeks would have never faded for a few days.
The guy never respects my privacy, she thought sourly. All he does is go around and muttering 'Omae o korosu' in people's faces. And he never kills them anyway. She was going to give up on him....
"Relena?" Heero's voice drifted behind her closed bedroom door. "We need to talk."
...now. An evil grin sprang up her face. What an appropriate time to come in, Heero Yuy. Just in time for practice.
*
Heero hid his puzzled expression as he looked Relena over. She was wearing a slight grin on her face, as though she had had a much wider grin a few minutes ago and hadn't finished wiping it off completely. He wondered if it was something she didn't want him to see her grinning about. Her hair was loose and swung about her elegant face, and her blue eyes were soft as they looked him over. She was beautiful.
Then she looked away into her mirror and reached for a brush. "What is it, Yuy?"
He blinked. Yuy? Was she taking lessons from Wufei Chang about etiquette? Knowing Wufei, his idea of etiquette was probably insulting everyone. Suspicions sprang up in his mind like a river, but he pushed them away. He didn't want to bother Relena with those suspicions. Not now, not yet.
"We need to talk," he rumbled, and he sat on her bed.
She swiveled toward him, her blue eyes staring into his cold Prussian blue ones. "You already said that," she said coolly, even though a red flush was creeping up from her neck. It made her look kind of... He gulped inwardly and ordered his thoughts to stop moving exactly where he didn't want them to go. Those orders, and his thoughts did exactly as they pleased. Which was to practically gallop in THAT direction.
"Fine," he said just as coolly. "I want to talk to you about your free time."
"Free time?" she blinked at him. "I don't know what to do in my free time."
"According to my information," he stated, "you don't have free time."
"I'll arrange that," Relena said dryly, turning back to her dresser. "Can you please get out now?"
"We're not done yet."
"Oh, aren't we?" She leaned towards him, and he willed his eyes to stop drifting to her chest. "As far as I'm concerned, Heero Yuy, we're over. Gone. Kaput. Finis. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Relationship-wise." She turned away. "Good-bye."
*
"I'm home," Duo Maxwell called out.
"Hey." Hilde leaned against the door, enjoying a sandwich. "Anything you want to eat?"
"Nah. Anything phone calls?" He flopped down on the comfortable couch and stretched luxuriously.
"Yeah. From Heero."
"Heero? Heero Yuy? As in the Perfect Soldier?" Duo bolted up straight from slouching position in a cute way that made the pixie, dark-haired girl smile.
"Yes, as in the Perfect Soldier." She took a bite of the sandwich and chewed. "The message is on the answering machine. I've got to go. See you later tonight. I'm going shopping with Relena." She grabbed her coat and was halfway out the door when Duo called out, "You go with her everyday. Why not with me?"
"Because," she replied, swatting his head, "I spend the night with you."
"Looking forward to it," he winked.
As soon as she was gone, Duo played back the message and got one of the most ironic messages of his life, played along in Heero Yuy's dull monotone. He had not seen his friend in a long time and longed to even hear from the silent pilot...even Trowa had sent a little note. But as soon as he heard the message, he thought that he might not want to hear from Heero Yuy at all.
"Duo, come to the park at four sharp, if convenient. If unconvenient, come all the same. Or else."
Duo found himself thinking that he might just ask Hilde if he could come along and shop with her...
