AN: Yes I'm here, posting another fic and not finishing what I've started (Reenactment). I'll get back to that one, I just needed to post this one.

AC 205-The beginning of April

I don?t know how it all came be; I sit here and watch, I observe a crowd of people and see what?s going to happen, see what has happened, I feel their emotions, I hear their thoughts, I also make the business men and women get up from their tables to chase a rolling pen that happened to?ve rolled off the lunch/dinner table.

I sat at a table inside one of the well known restaurants in town where men and woman go to do and talk business?everything ranging from new developments on a colony to changes in the Preventer?s Main headquarters; what effect it will have on small HQ?s on earth and outer space. I sat and did as he told me to so I could sharpen my skills. I come and sit at different restaurants everyday, not sitting in the same one three times in one week. Practice, practice, practice makes perfect. I?ve been practicing for two weeks now, and have gotten better each time.

He told me of a development that Lady Une and Zechs Merquise were working on which involved building a colony that would be involved in manufacturing weapons. It was surprising to me at first because Miss Relena is the Vice Foreign Minister of both the earth and colonies. But he then told me that it was for the small forces on the earth and outer space; you?re regular law enforcers. Legislation decided to shut down all manufacturing companies on earth and in the surrounding colonies and move it to one location.

That?s all the information he had for me. Getting into the Preventer?s Mainframe was hard?very hard. Only a highly skilled hacker could get through. And if he did, he would end up spending a good 15-35 years in a boxed up living space.

The Preventer?s didn?t like games or child?s play. And that?s one thing he would take advantage of?their dislikes.

Today was the best I must say. I sat in the Cherry Oak Caf? by the reading section with a cup of ice tea and a book. I sat in at a table facing the main part of the caf?, where the meetings, lunches, and dinners were held. It was the middle of the day, so it would be lunch until six o?clock. As I read and glanced up from the reading, and read some more, a small group of people walked in that peeked my interest. Three of them wore Preventer?s Uniforms, one wore a business suit, and the other was in plain clothes. Peering over my reading glasses, I took a good look at their faces and recognized each of them with each skipped heart beat: Chang Wufei, Trowa Barton, and Duo Maxwell were in uniform. Zechs Merquise was in the suit, and the one and only Heero Yuy wore plain clothes. He looked dressy/casual, but he didn?t look like he fit in with the group. No one else seemed to pay them any mind, but myself. It was my duty.

Come to pass a thought by it, I didn?t understand why it was my duty. But every time I tried to think about it, my head began to hurt.
Pretending to read and sip tea, I listened to their conversation from afar.

?By far the situation is going well. The project should be done within the next year.? Trowa sat back and placed an ankle on the opposite knee. Crossing his arms he added, ?There should no longer be a problem as to why one manufacturer has more then the other here on earth.?

?Then that will raise question as to why it?s in outer space and not on earth,? Heero put in.

?You do have a point Heero,? Trowa responded.

?Since this has been agreed on, doesn?t legislation have to explain it to the people before it causes an uprising?? Wufei posed the question, but was looking elsewhere. If I hadn?t noticed I would say that he was looking directly at me, but only in the sense of looking at whom was there in the caf? and if anyone was paying attention. Me being what I am, I continued to read and listen at the same time.

I turned the page and felt Zechs rest his chin on the back of his hands. ?I brought that up to Relena and she said that it was in their agenda for the next meeting which is to be held next week,? He glanced at Wufei only to notice that Wufei was still looking in my direction. He followed his gaze, eyes set on me.

Damn, did I really emit some strong magnetic energy or was it my perfume?

?Although I feel as if the Legislation is taking advantage.? He returned his gaze back to the other men at the table. Wufei narrowed his stare.

?Find something interesting Wufei,? Duo questioned.

?I don?t know but, something?s strange about that woman.? As I became the center of attention, a waitress walked up to me and asked if I needed anything else. I looked up from my reading and looked directly at her, avoiding the urge to look in the former pilots? direction. I realized she had my check in her hand, although it was only tea I ordered.

?No, no thank you. I guess I?ll take that now and leave to be out of your way-?

?Oh no,? she started, ?You don?t have to leave the caf?. You could just pay the bill and sit in the lounge area which is on the opposite side of us.? I smiled and nodded, taking the small piece of paper from her. I took my glasses off and rubbed between my eyes gently. I hadn?t realized I?ve been reading for sometime.

Despite me, they continued their meeting.

?What seems to be the problem,? Heero asked Wufei. Wufei turned away from me and looked back at his comrades, ?Nothing.?

Heero began, ?There have been reports of unauthorized gathering of gundanium alloy in the L4 region en rout to the moon.?

?Are you saying there?s the possibility of mobile suit production,? Trowa asked.

?I can?t say. The transports have been reported to leave L4 and disappear behind the moon.?

?Disappear,? Duo questioned.

?There?s a resource station orbiting the moon. These transports have only been seen to?ve disappeared once the station is behind the moon.?

?It being behind the moon from whose point of view,? Zechs asked.

?Behind the moon from earth?s view; when the moon is between the earth and L4,? Heero replied.

Their conversation went from who Lady Une assigned to the investigation, to the hopes of not seeing another war, to the hopes of continued peace, to training, to recruitment, and then their personal lives.

Recruitment

This caught my attention. I closed my book and decided I take a trip to the agency and grab an application. Being on the inside would benefit him the most. So, with that in mind I walked to the counter and paid for my tea. I looked at the girl behind the counter and saw that soon her boyfriend, Jason, would propose to her, and yet she?s been very unfaithful. I smiled when she gave me my change.

?Have a nice day,? she said with a smile.

?Let Jason go, or leave David alone,? I replied.

She gave me this look of confusion. I looked to the nearby coffee machine and narrowed my eyes just a little bit. Before she could say anything, it went out of control. She dared say something to me, but the coffee machine screamed louder. I turned with a smirk on my face, also to see that it caught the guy?s attention.

Their eyes didn?t stay on the machine too long because I was headed in their direction. I caught Duo?s eye and smiled brightly. He and Hilde haven?t been getting along too well. They?re both in love, yet he?s hiding it and hurting her at the same time. What a pity.

I looked to Wufei and found that he and Sally are getting along more than just fine. In the near future, she?ll surprise him with her pregnancy, leaving him over protective of her. Doesn?t look like she?ll be in the field for long.

Zechs and Lucrezia; what an interesting sight to see. He may seem quiet and deteached in the open, but behind closed doors, he constantly sweeps her off of her feet. But when things get started, I see myself being a threat to him and his beloved. I nearly laughed at that. I have no interest in Zechs what-so-ever. Mr. Milliardo has issues.

As I continued to walk past them, Heero gave me a look of interrogation. I glanced at him and saw Relena dying in his arms from a wound I somehow managed to inflict upon her. That picture made me stop. I knew that I?d be a spy, but didn?t know that I?d be the enemy. But seeing this made it all interesting because I can change that, or they can change it. As I looked to Trowa, I heard Zechs question me, but didn?t get the words he was saying. What I saw in Trowa?s eyes, ahead in time, was a strong intimacy between us. I couldn?t help but just stare and take in what was to come because he?s so?what?s the word?

Sexy

?Is there something we could help you with, miss?? I blinked my eyes a couple of times to see all eyes on me. I looked at Zechs with a blank expression.

?Excuse me,? was my reply.

?He asked if there was anything we could help you with.? He spoke with such softness it sent funny chills up my spine and made butterflies appear in my stomach. But I knew that if I didn?t answer fast enough, they?d suspect me of something once they saw me applying for a position at HQ. So I asked,

?How long is the application process for your recruitment??

Wufei jumped the gun, ?So you over heard?? His eyes accused me of eavesdropping, but I gave him a warm smile and shook me head slightly, denying all charges.

?No sir,? I began. Without looking towards my left, I pointed to a stack of flyers at on of the tea tables. ?It?s advertised over there. It said on it for inquiries; call in, but since seeing you here, I thought I just ask.?

I say, being a cognitive/empath/telekinetic does have it?s advantages.

?I always thought it rude to eavesdrop,? I added.

?It depends on the circumstance,? Trowa replied. I smiled at him ready to say something else, when Zechs interrupted the chemistry,

?What?s your question??

I smiled and answered, ?I already asked.?

?It takes about two weeks at most, deepening on your background,? Trowa answered. Ooooh, I could see us now. I smiled.

?Thank you.?

?You?re welcome.?

I nodded to the rest and left the caf?, ready to get started on mission number one: CHAOS.

?Looks like Trowa has an admirer,? Duo said.

?I was simply being nice.?

?Looks to me it was more than just that,? Zechs stated.

?I hope she?s useful to us. We don?t need any child?s play,? Wufei said, crossing his arms.

?Leave it to Wufei to spoil the mood,? Duo replied.

?There was no mood, and I think she?d be a valuable asset to the Preventer?s,? Trowa countered.

?How can you tell,? Heero questioned.

?When you?ve been around but so many people on and off the battlefield, you?re just able to read people more easily,? Zechs replied. ?But there?s also something she?s not showing which could either be an asset to us, or a weapon used against us.?

?If she?s accepted,? Wufei added.

?Trust me Wufei, with how things are going; we are going to need every individual we can get.? Zechs looked towards the counter where the girl once stood, right before the coffee machine went out of control.

?There?s just something different about her, but I can?t seem to place my finger on it.? ?People have an uncanny way of telling you that they?re hiding something.? The others couldn?t help but agree to what Zechs was saying.
