The Wife Of Hades 2
A/N- I know this took a while to come out but its here now, and hopefully there isn’t any grammar errors etc. So as per usual, my message to you is to ENJOY!!!!!!
Definitions: (Greek food that i got from the internet, i don't know if they ate these in the Ancient Greek times though)

Everything was dark again, not the same darkness that he experienced everyday in the underworld, but a colder darkness; enough to freeze your blood and send shivers down your spine. And this dream continued to haunt him, each night becoming more and more life-like than he’d like to imagine; and yet, a God though he may be, there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Heero woke up from his troublesome sleep, sweat dripping down his bare back and soaking his bed. His eyes were wide with…fright, and dark, heavy bags decorated the lower lids of his sunken eyes, his pale skin clung to his skull as though there was no flesh in between them and his cheeks hollowed as they connected with his jaw. Every night for the past month, his sleep had disturbed him, he had gone to see the Three Blind Sisters, but they themselves didn’t know, despite the many lies, solutions and ‘prophecies’ they’d thought up on the spur of the moment.
Wiping sweat off his forehead, Heero swung his leg over his, intricately carved bed and sat on its side. “Thetto,” he rasped.
As he opened his mouth to call again, a gust of wind blew past him, ruffling his already very messy hair, and an eerie sound of flapping echoed around the room. With a soft thump, the giant griffin landed right beside him ready to listen to whatever the king of the underworld had to say. “I need to be distracted. Lets go for a ride”.
Thetto lowered his gold and orange wings to Heero’s height and the king jumped right on. As they were about to take off, someone knocked on the door. Growling Heero slid off the griffon’s back, walked up to his throne on the other side of the large room and heavily slung himself onto it. “COME IN!” He didn’t feel like controlling his rising temper.
A man jauntily stalked into the room a long braid trailing behind him, straight up to where Heero sat on his throne, before extravagantly prostrating himself in a mocking manner. “Your highness,” He said as he straightened himself again, “I have come with the report of yesterday’s happenings, as you commanded.”
“Proceed.”
“One hundred men, two hundred and Fifty women and eighty children died yesterday, due to the famine in Athens. The three blind sisters say that there is no need for them to register themselves as they had decided to take it upon themselves to do the task themselves.”
Heero was shocked at this piece of news, though he was careful not to show it. The three blind sisters never recorded the deaths that took place, they were more interested in taking them. Something was definitely wrong.
“What’s wrong with them?” His voice as hollow as always.
“Sorry sir, but all they told me was that they didn’t want a crowd of dead folks bothering them all the time. Musta been the amount of them that died and the fact that they always go to the sisters for directions, though they do sometimes…”
“Continue.”
“I am s-..”
“With the report.” Heero’s eyes narrowed in frustration and he rubbed his temples, not that he really need to, just as a slight indication that Duo should hurry up.
“Oh, right. Well anyway, about that prisoner you brought home with you yesterday, quite a chick, if I do say so myself…”Duo noticed the death glare that Heero was directing at him and decided to divert the path of his conversation to more important matters. “well, we’ve put her in one of the dungeons as we thought that’s what you wanted, we haven’t fed her yet as she was still asleep when we put her there; but as soon as she wakes up we’ll send someone down with the usual bread and water…”
“Wait. Correct me if I’m wrong, did you say you’d put her in a dungeon?” Heero’s voice rose with every word.
“Yeah, well, s-she looked like a prisoner being dirty and badly treated and all, and that’s where we thought you’d want her to go,” Duo stuttered.
“Didn’t I give full instructions to place her in a comfortable room and treat her like ROYALTY?!”
“Sorry, I guess I didn’t here that part”
“Get out! And this time, do exactly what I say!”
Duo made his way back to the to the door, but then something inside him told him to do what he did next. Turning right around, Duo boldly questioned, “What do you plan on doing with her anyway, I don’t think Demeter will be pleased when she finds out.”
“It’s none of your business.” Duo continued on his way to the door, not as cheerfully as he had done on entering. “Oh and Duo.” He turned around once again. Heero stretched out his hand and fingers as far as they would go and from his fingertips, a spiral of hot flames flew towards Duo. As soon as they touched him, they burst into thousands of tiny flames which sunk into his skin and on entering his blood caused it to evaporate. His body exploded like a shell, leaving behind a soul, that was the exact replica of his once live self except transparent and red. “Don’t question me again.”
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Relena woke up to the sound of voices. One was deep and masculine and belonged to a man, however it seemed faraway. Peeking out from under her bed sheet, she instantly knew the reason for this. The man was dead. And it was clear that he had died recently because his soul glowed bright red. When you’ve died and are sent to the underworld, your soul goes through different colour stages, first it is bright red, like the man’s, then it turns orange, then yellow, green, light blue, and finally white.
The second voice belonged to a tall girl, about the same age as Relena or a bit older; she had dark cherry-red hair, violet-blue coloured eyes and she wore a plain red dress. Their speech was muffled so Relena only caught small snippets of their conversation.
“Don’t worry Duo, at least your rank hasn’t been lowered.”
“I’d prefer that to this Catherine. Well anyway, she is comfortable now isn’t she? He wants her treated like royalty. And treat that cold she’s got, don’t want him killing you too.”
Relena had barely enough time to duck beneath the covers before the girl Catherine, walked towards her. Relena mumbled to herself with a dreamy voice to make it seem as though she really were talking to herself in her sleep. “Mother, you…”
“Alright, you can stop acting now.” Relena instantly sat up, a comically confused expression on her face, this only widened the cheerful smile on Catherine’s face. “Yeah, I knew you were pretending, I just decided not to say anything, for your sake.” Relena didn’t know whether to be angry with Catherine for being so annoyingly perceptive and relaxed about it all, or with herself, for being such a lousy actor.
“Where am I?”
“The underworld.” Catherine simply replied.
“I heard you’ve got a cold” Catherine said holding a hand against Relena’s forehead and frowned. “I swear that man wouldn’t know his right from his left without very detailed directions,” she muttered mostly to herself. “You’ve got a fever dear. But don’t worry, I’ll fix it up right this minute.”
Catherine scurried out of the room as fast as she could. It was obvious she had mentioned what she’d muttered to Duo because from down the corridor, Relena heard a loud, “Well how was I supposed to know!”
Before Relena could bat an eyelid, Catherine had hurtled into the room again, this time with a large bottle which contained a swirling, liquid which was constantly switching from green to yellow and back again. Cautiously pouring some of it into a large spoon she had produced at the same time, Catherine lowered it to Relena’s height, “Here, drink this up, it will make you feel better in an instant.”
“No! That looks foul! Relena cringed. Then she remembered something that made her not want to drink the ‘medicine’ even more. If you consumed any food that was made or grown in the land of the dead, you would have to stay there for the rest of your life. And considering that she was immortal, that meant that she’d have to stay here forever! “Are you trying to trick me into staying here forever?”
“Huh? Oh. Oh no, of course not, I’m just trying to make you feel better,” Catherine’s eyes widened as the meaning behind Relena’s words dawned on her. “Look, if you don’t want to drink it, we can do this another way.” And so Catherine proceeded to rub the liquid on Relena’s arms, head and neck. Strangely, this felt quite good and Relena’s tensed shoulders relaxed.
When Catherine was done, Relena got out of bed and stretched, she felt a whole lot stronger than before. “For the land of the dead, you’d think that medicine would have completely different outcomes” Catherine chuckled at the innocent remark. “So, how long have I been here?”
“Since last night, I think. Well we better hurry up, I need to get you dressed for dinner. Like Duo said, we don’t want to anger Hades, he might end up losing his temper again and killing one of us…though its quite obvious who it will be.”
Relena was absolutely oblivious to the answer, and this was shown by the barely hidden fright in her eyes. “Who?”
“Me of course!” Catherine exclaimed, beginning to get annoyed with Relena’s ignorance of the underworld. Anyway, there’s a dress for you in the wardrobe, it’s the black one with blue shapes on it. When you’re done call me so I can do your make-up, though I don’t really think you need any. After that I can show you the way to the dining hall.”
Catherine left, leaving Relena to herself.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The dining hall like many of the other rooms had a hollow feel to it, it was very unlike the one Relena was used to in her home on Mount Olympus. There the walls had been painted gold and silver, and decorated with tapestries that told many stories all with happy endings, There was a huge chandelier on the ceiling and around on the walls and the place was bustling with cheery people that laughed and talked as they went about their daily tasks. Here everything was the complete opposite, the walls were grey and random rocks and stones protruded out of it giving the place a bleak and austere look, there were only three small torches to light up the large hall, there were no tapestries to brighten up the room and the only people that were in it was Relena and Heero.
“Would you like to try some Baklava or some Tiropita? The wine is sweet, it was made from the grapes grown in my best vines.” Heero was trying to get Relena to eat something, it was obvious that she was hungry, each time he put food into his mouth or dished some more food onto her plate, she would look at it longingly, but then a look of firm resolve would flit over her face and she wouldn’t touch a thing, while ignoring his suggestions.
“Are you ill?” her attitude to the banquet was beginning to rile him, but he was determined to control his usually wild temper. So he tried again, “Shall I call Ca-“
“I’m perfectly fine thank you.” Relena’s interrupted, “I understand why you brought me here, clearly to help me get better while I had the fever, but I was wondering, when will you take me back home?”
Heero choked on a piece of chicken he had been half way through swallowing. Drinking some wine from his golden goblet to dislodge the food he said, “Home? But you are home.”
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Demeter had arrived at the Gods and Goddesses meeting about an hour ago. She would have liked Relena to be present at the meeting, it may have decreased the amount of boredom she’d felt earlier. Well, by the time the next meeting came up, Relena would be of age to attend. It was funny really, both Relena and Heero as he called himself these days, were the only supreme beings that didn’t attend; Relena’s case was understandable, but for Had- Heero, it was just curious.
Knowing how bored Relena could get at times she called to Hermes the messenger god to deliver a message from her to her daughter. It was just a friendly message to check on up on her. Demeter wrote a message on a piece of paper and when Hermes flew up to her, gave it to him saying, “She’ll probably be talking to the servants in the servants quarters.”
With that done, she settled back down to listen to the meeting that had only just started.

Another great chapter, Torn! You're imagination is so amazing; some of the details you thought of were so interesting. This is really a nice piece of work, Torn, and the spelling and grammer errors were significantly reduced since chapter 1 (but there still were one or two of them).

Ah this is so much fun. Props to you for mentioning the Fates (I assume that's what you meant anyway). They are my favorite goddesses.... though I think if Persephone had been half as interesting as Relena I would have liked her much better.
Hades changing his name out of the blue? Funny stuff. Mid-death crisis? Boo Angel, boo....

Glad for the update.

So this is the story that your mom was looking for? I'm flattered that she said that about my one story. Are you sure that it was my story and not someone elses??
Well, this was a really good chapter! Please post the next chapter as soon as possible!
Peace out!
