He had years of happiness with her. Years of peace since the moment he stopped running from her, offering his soul and finally, his heart. Years of coming home to welcoming arms of the woman who loved him far more than her life.

He thought he had more years to show her his appreciation for the warmth she offered in the middle of the night. He thought he had years to give her the flowers he had known she sought. But the last rose he presented her lay on the cold ground. Wilted and unnoticed by the stone angel that stood guard over the body of his wife.

Seems that the "last" theme has conjured many sad thoughts. But it is terribly poignant, as well.

Angst...I just love angst! I don't know what intrigues me so about it! Oh well, that was a very good use of words, although I personally think that angst is a lot easier to read and write when you can drag it out...or that just be my own sick little demented opinion. Good job otherwise!
