Far from the Heart: Fearing the Worst

Hitomi sat up and screamed. She looked around her familiar room, then flopped down back on her pillow. 'It was just a dream. But it was, just too realistic.' She shook her head slightly, standing up out of bed. She fell to her knees, grabbing her stomach. 'Just a little to real for my liking' She lifted her shirt, to see a red spot on her stomach, but no bleeding. She sighed and walked to the bathroom.

"I wonder...if it was a vision, trying to tell me to go back..." She shook her head, looking at herself in the mirror. In four years, she had let her hair grow just past her shoulders. She had become a young woman, taking on more curves making her look beautiful. She walked back to her room, changing into a black skirt with gold trim that nearly reached her knees, and white shirt. Picking up a coat that matched the skirt, she walked out of the house. It was no more then five AM, but she didn't mind, the sun had already begun to stain the navy blue sky.

"If it was a vision, how in the world am I going to get back there?" Hitomi mumbled to herself, putting the coat on.

"If your still having visions, then maybe you should tell me where you went four years ago..." Hitomi spun around, smiling slightly to see that Yukari had been following her.

"How long have you been behind me?" Hitomi tilted her head a bit, waiting for Yukari to catch up to speed.

"Only since you left your house. Hitomi, I know you know, that I am worried about you. You never go out unless it's still dark out. In school, your so much more focused." Yukari sighed, watching her friend shift her weight in nervousness.

"Come on Yukari, I told you. I can't remember what happened." Hitomi was barely able to spit out the words, remembering what she promised Van.

~ Hitomi held onto Van tightly, not wanting to let go. She felt herself being lifted up by a familiar blue light.

"I promise I won't forget you." Hitomi continued to float up, watching Van slowly fade from her vision.

"Hitomi..."~

Hitomi sighed, looking up at the sky, knowing she couldn't see the planet, but she knew it was there.

"Hitomi, your a horrible liar sometimes. Come on, we'll go to the track and talk, you know I won't take no for an answer" Yukari had already grabbed her arm, starting to drag her towards the track. Hitomi sighed and let herself be pulled.

"Lord Van!" Merle ran onto the balcony. Van stood starring at the sky. He seemed on the thinner side, looking weak. Merle grabbed his arm and dragged him back to his bed.

"Lord Van, your ill. You shouldn't be wandering around." Merle sighed, watching Van hold his chest and cringe. Millerna told her that nothing was wrong with him, she was totally stumped on why he was so ill.

"Merle?" Van looked at her, his eyes tired.

"Lord Van, you know your sick and I won't let you wander!" Merle laid her hand on his forehead, as Van closed his eyes.

"Lord Van..."

Yukari starred at Hitomi. Hitomi sighed and looked back at the sky. Three hours of explaining what had happened. The sun was finally up. Hitomi glanced at Yukari.

"You think I'm insane don't you?" Yukari shook her head fiercely.

"Hitomi, if I told you that I had fallen in love with an angel...would you believe me?" Hitomi nodded.

"So when I say I believe you, I mean it. Besides, everything you told me was in grand detail. You don't make up stories off the top of your head like that. It would make sense on why no one could find you." Yukari smiled at Hitomi, who gave a half smile back.

"Now I'm having, at least I think I'm having, visions again." Hitomi looked at the ground. Yukari hugged her friend.

"What are they about?" She was intrigued by her story. She felt at first the Hitomi was pulling her leg, about a planet in the sky that we couldn't see. A planet where knights, and kings still existed, with giant robot like machines. After a while, she saw how it truly pained Hitomi to talk about this place, and this boy with wings.

"I'm in Fanelia . It's covered in blood and bodies. I see Fanelia's castle in ruins, so I run toward it. I end up surrounded by blackness. I see Allen, but he disappears after only saying that 'He won me'. I then start crying uncontrollably. Van comes from behind me, and holds me. I look at him, and his chest is covered in gashes, bruises, and blood. He tells me he's sorry, then disappears just like Allen does. Then the last part is where Dilandau stabs in the stomach and I wake up." Hitomi pulled her knees close to her closing her eyes tightly, thinking about Van's bleeding chest.

"I'm sorry Hitomi..." Yukari hugged her friend again. She sighed. 'There is no way Hitomi is faking this...she's telling me the truth.' Yukari glanced at Hitomi, who pulled out a pure white feather. It was too big to belong to a bird.

"This is...one of his feather's. Yukari, I have to back to him. I want to stay there." Yukari only nodded.

"I understand. Do you think your mother will believe you about this?" Hitomi nodded.

"She cornered me like you did, only awhile back. She knew the stories of Gaea from my Grandmother, so she didn't doubt that I was telling the truth. I want to go back, only if you and my mother help me." Yukari nodded and stood up.

"Let's go! We need to get you ready." Yukari smiled proudly. She knew she'd miss Hitomi, but Hitomi was slowly killing herself for leaving Van.

"There's only one problem...I don't know how to get back." Yukari thought a moment. She shrugged slightly.

"No biggy, we still need to get you ready, then we can worry about how we're going to get you there."

Okies, depending on how many posts I get on this chapter in the next. oh ... three days, will determine if I combine the next two chapters or keep them seperate. Or you can vote in your posts on whether you want me to combine them or not. ^^

Hey the story is great so far and I cant wait to read the rest..........I hope that you hurry up and finish soon. and I think that you should combine the next two chapters or do what you want..........either way it will be awsome!!

U posted this in june and i never saw it??? Whoa...bad kaili, bad! I can't believe it, i've been dying for some new escaflowne fic to come here, and i had a semi-old one that is new cuz i never read it, right here under my nose! Please let there be more chappies....
