Destiny's Pawns---~Chapter 14~

[Hitomi Lei]

"Merle I need help! "Hitomi yelled out in frustration.

"What's it this time, Hitomi?" Merle asked with a giggle.

The wedding was in the morning and she and Hitomi where

going threw the gifts.

Hitomi was stairing at the gift from Token a country beside

Zaibach. It was an ugly little animal that had been put in

the box.

"Oh, that?s a Saram. It's supposed to bring...ummm.." Merle

started to gigle again.

"Bring what Merle?!"

"...Fertility...." Hitomi looked at the rat like creature.

"Well...go let him out in the garden, will you?" Hitomi

handed over the box to Merle. This wedding couldn't end

fast enough for Hitomi. She was ready for it, the beginning

of the rest of her life.

On a raised platform newly built in the foremost square of

the Capital city of Fanila, the wedding took place. The air

was filled with excitement, almost like carnival time.

Children ran through the crowd with brightly colored

streamers and nobility from the surrounding Countries sat in

shaded boxed seats away from the noise of the crowd.

Hitomi stood in her lite violet kimono with Merle and

Millerna beside her as Royal witnesses of the occasion. Van

stood with the ancient scribe on one side of him and a wise

priest on the other.

Hitomi approached the priest with shallow breath to began

the ritual. Van came to stand so that the priest was

between them. They raised their hands so that their palms

and fingers were touching.

The priest took their other hands so that they formed a

circle. The scribe wrote everything down on a scroll opened

in front of him.

The priest spook." The circle of Life is now unbroken.

Life, Love and Family. Remember that these are the most

important. Now, Lady Hitomi, do you pledge by blood

covenant to never leave this land, to always serve your

husband and your people. To forever do your best to uphold

peace in the eyes of the Gods for as long as your life

force is in your body?" His wise old eyes looked straight

into her soul. He saw how sincere she was, how she had

truly made this world her home.

"I do swear by blood covenant to uphold these things, or

may the Gods have mercy on my soul." Hitomi's voice was

steady as she looked at Van and gave her vow. A small boy

brought the ceremonial dagger. Its hilt was encrusted with

rubies and diamonds. The blade was etched with the crest of

the Royal House of Fanel. The priest picked it up from off

it's velvet pillow. He put it to his lips in a holy kiss,

then he reached for Hitomi's hand and slit her thumb. Red

blood dripped from the wound as Hitomi turned and pressed her

thumb to the scroll. Then she turned back to rejoin her

hands with the priest and Van. Her blood dripped down the

side of Van's palm. The priest spoke to Van.

"King Fanel, do you pledge by blood covenant to protect

your Queen as long as you have breath. To always deal

honorably with her. To put her above your kingdom and before

every other thing as long as your life force flows through

your veins?" The ancient priest turned to his king,

awaiting his reply.

"I do swear by blood covenant and the Gods to hold up these

things as truth or may Escaflowne and the Gods have mercy

on my soul." The priest put the dagger to Van's thumb and

Van in turn placed it to the parchment. The priest then

tool both of their thumbs and pressed them together over

the scroll. One dark red drop fell in between the bloody

prints. Holding up thier hands high, the priest declared.

"I pronounce in the sight of these Royal witnesses and in

the sight of the people of Fanelia that these two have

entered into the blood covenant of Husband and Wife. I give

you your new Queen!!" A shout rang up from the people of

Fanelia, the likes of which had never been heard. Merle and

Millerna had tears in their eyes as Van picked up Hitomi

and spun her around. The priest and the scribe bound and

sealed the scroll to be out with all the other royal

documents. Yes, this was a happy day in Gaea, and as the

sun set and the Mystic Moon rose high above. the

celebrating crowd, everybody saw that it was shining

brighter than before.



End of Chapter.

But not end of FIC!! I still have a long way to go before this thing comes to an end!! I just don't write all fluff you know!! Now many of the readers I have on FF.net have been wanting me to write a sequel to 'Never Doubt' just so you know....This is the sequel. A small reference to the fic was made in the 1st chapter!! I hope you all are in for a long ride because this fic is just getting good!!!

Interesting ceremony, was it based on a known ritual, or something you invented? Just curious.

Anyway - yay! They're married!

Van: **rubs hands together** Now for the good part.
Hitomi: O_O You, you, hentai! Is that the only reason you married me?
Van: **taps chin** Not the ONLY reason.
Hitomi: **smacks Van** Then you can sleep outside in the doghouse where you belong. **slams door**
Van: **sulks** Great, I'm the only groom in Gaea to ever not get to sleep with his bride on his wedding night. HITOMI! **pounds on door** Let me in!!!


**snickers** Sorry.... I'll be looking for the next chapter.

Van: With a lemon scene, right?
Rose: Oh you men. Stick a sock in it.
