Sylvia silently cursed God and fate for bringing her brat of a sister home to visit. Her mother and sister were arguing in the kitchen while Sylvia had to entertain their guests. Too bad the kitchen didn't provide much insulation. She cringed as every word spoken inside was heard out in the living room. Why didn't Relena ever stay at her own apartment? Of all the times to visit. Relena's big mouth would ruin everything!
"Relena, please for my sake be nice tonight. Sylvia really likes this young man." a voice urge from the kitchen.
"Let me guest. He's either really rich or really handsome. Or both, right?"
"Relena-"
"Come on, he's got to be loaded. He doesn't have an lazy eye like that last one, does he?"
"Relena! Stop making your sister out as a shallow person. You make her sound like a gold digger!"
"Duh, mom. She is! I bet this guy could have the I.Q. of an artichoke and she'd still date him because he's got money."
"Lower your voice! They are right outside." mom pleaded.
"Um, mom...you're the one who's talking loud. Loud enough for them to probably hear this conversation." Relena replied.
Mom or Maureen Peacecraft as she was known, groaned in despair. Her oldest daughter, Sylvia had been gushing for week about a man she found that met all of her requirements in a mate. He was rich, handsome, smart...rich. It killed her to admit it, but her first born was quite swallow. Her second daughter was an artist, was known for her outspokenness and her disdain for her sister's materialistic ways. In short, one child was money hungry while the other was a modern day hippie. What was a mother to do?
"Just be nice, for the love of pete. And change out of those clothes. You look like you've been rolling around in the mud." Maureen sighed, shaking her head.
"Well, you know us working class folk like to be all dirty." Relena cheerfully sneered. She was still dressed in her waitress get up that looked across between a historical romance novel heroine and a Hooters girl.
That was another bone of contention in the Peacecraft household. A well to do middle class family, there really wasn't a need to work, but Relena was always the odd ball. She not only made her living off of her sculptures, but also had a waitressing job.
"Get up those steps, missy and come down looking like a lady. And that means no jeans, t-shirts or sweat pants!" Maureen snapped, pointing to the kitchens back entrance.
"But it would real rude of me not to introduce myself to our guests." Relena smirked, strolling to the kitchen's doorway.
"Don't you dare. Relena-" Maureen shouted behind her.
When Relena opened the door she was floored. The man sitting beside Sylvia was gorgeous. He appeared tall even from his sitting position on the couch. Chestnut brown hair and..his eyes were amazing. What a shade of blue! He looked back at her coldly as she ran her eyes over his fit frame. He would make a perfect model. The gray suit he wore didn't do him justice.
Finally finding her voice, Relena smirked. "Well, he's definitely not ugly."
"Relena!" Maureen shouted, blushing.
Hearing her mother's embarrassed voice, Relena knew it was time to stop tormenting her family. Putting on her proper we-have-company face, she smiled politely even though she felt rather ridiculous in her bar wench costume.
Sylvia jumped up quickly to take charge. Face flaming in anger, she wanted to strangle her sister, but she kept her temper in check. Worried over Heero's reaction, Sylvia possessively put her arm around his waist. His only reaction was to lift his brow. Their other dinner companions shared looks between themselves.
"Relena, meet Heero Yuy." Sylvia said, wearily. Then stepping back she motioned to the two men sitting together across from the couch.
So busy staring at her sister's new boy toy, Relena hadn't noticed the other two men with them. One was a short blonde with baby blue eyes and the kindest face she had ever seen, this side of a newborn. His blue silk shirt and white pants were nice quality that just screamed RICH! His taller companion was an absolute babe, although not as cute as Sylvia's honey. He was wearing a casual green pullover and grey pants...and his hair was very unusual. The brown unibang he had shielded one eye, but he made the most of it with the emerald green one shown.
"This is Quatre R. Winner and Trowa Barton. They own the New Meadows country club." Sylvia said, first gesturing to the blond then the brunette.
Relena gave a nod and shook their hands. *Wait a minute? New Meadows?*
"Oh, you mean that crappy, hoity-toity club that keeps out minorities and pays low wages to their employees, country club?" she said.
Quatre had the grace to blush, while Trowa tried valiantly to hide a grin.
"Actually, I just bought the club. Those policies will no longer be tolerated, I assure you. And I've given everyone raises." he reassured her.
Maureen moved forward and put her arm around Relena's waist. Her tight grip told Relena she had picked at the angry bear long enough and it was time to retreat.
"Well, I have to go change. See you all in a bit." Relena said, beating a hasty retreat.
*********
Heero nodded every once in a while as he half listened to Sylvia. Why had he come to her home? Oh, yes, he remembered now. His idiot friends were trying to set him up. Thought he needed a woman to take care of him. Pretty though she was, shoulder length straight blond hair and blue eyes, Sylvia was a cold fish. Too much like himself. And he wasn't stupid. He knew it wasn't his personality that drew her attention. A self starter, his computer company was now a billion dollar industry. And Sylvia liked money.
Now her sister was definitely different. The way she had looked him over had been disconcerting and yet he was attracted. The siblings looked nothing alike. Relena was shorter, nicely shaped in all the right places and very direct. He liked that...a lot. Her honey blond hair-
"Heero, I asked you if would you like a drink?" Sylvia said, shaking Heero out of his thoughts.
"No." he bluntly replied.
Sylvia smiled wanly at him before trying to start a conversation with the two other men. Heero was so good looking, yet so cold. She liked her men fiery, but he was rich so she could ignore his personality quirks. *Great, I'm stuck talking to the fairies.*
When Relena finally came back down, she was dressed in a pale pink silk top and a black knee length skirt. Unnoticed by the others in the room, Heero and Relena's eyes met and held.
Maureen kindly ordered everyone into the dining room for dinner. A beautifully set table with a bouquet of violets as a centerpiece. The families best china was on display and Maureen's pot roast and potatoes were laid out.
"Wow, mom, this looks wonderful." Sylvia smiled, sitting down in her chair. Inwardly she was embarrassed to serve such a low class meal to three of the riches men in the world, but they had not had enough time to call a caterer.
"Yes, thank you Mrs. Peacecraft. I haven't enjoyed a home cooked meal in ages." Quatre smiled.
"Well, you haven't tasted it yet. But thank you anyway, dear." Maureen said, happy with the compliments. "So you all are in business together?"
Quatre nodded. "Yes, we all started out as partners in Heero's computer business and it went from there. Trowa and I also have started opening resorts and country clubs all over the country."
"It's so wonderful to see three friends so successful. You must be very proud." Maureen said.
She lifted each person's plate and gave out generous portions. Looking like an older version of Relena with the same coloring, she had a warm way about herself.
"We are. Actually, two other friends are in the business with us. Quatre and I thinking about building a home together on one of our resorts. Make it easier for the commute." Trowa replied. When she set his plate before him, he smiled.
"Yes, it'll be a nice place to settle down." Quatre grinned at Trowa, who sat beside him. As he reached out and patted the taller man's hand, Maureen's eyes widened.
"Oh...oh! You two are..?" Maureen questioned, blushing at the two men.
Relena rolled her eyes. "They're gay, mom. You can say the word."
"I know what gay means, young lady. I do have cable you know." Maureen replied to Relena, before handing her back her plate.
While Sylvia groaned in embarrassment, Relena and everyone else chuckled. It was a interesting evening.
************
"I want to sculpt you."
Heero turned around as he and his friends walked to their cars. Rude though it was, he had barely paid Sylvia any attention the whole evening. He had been too busy staring at her bold sister and wasn't surprised when the girl stared back. If anyone noticed, nothing was said. After dinner, they all had chatted and made small talk. But his continuous reaction the younger sister had made Heero eager to leave. Not caring too much about seeming rude, he had claimed tiredness and they all had got up to return home. When Sylvia had tried to kiss him good-bye, he knew he hurt her
feelings by pulling away. But she didn't interest him. Not that particular Peacecraft anyway.
"What did you say?" he asked, shocked.
"I want to sculpt you. You have an unbelievable body for modeling. I want you to model for me." Relena cheekily grinned. She knew her sister was silently seething behind her, but she didn't care.
"No."
"Aw, why not?" Relena pouted.
"I'm a busy man-I-I don't have time for things like that." Heero replied coldly. He was even more shocked she didn't act the least bit upset or afraid of him.
"Don't be a big old prude. I promise you can keep your clothes on...maybe."
"You do nude sculptures?" he questioned in disbelief. Quatre and Trowa's snickering at the car angered Heero to no end. He'd beat the crap out of them later.
*Not really, but the chance to see you naked, I'll lie through my teeth! Man, he is super fine. Lucky, evil Sylvia.* Relena inwardly smirked.
"Yes, do you have a problem with that? Do you have some gross body imperfection I have to worry about? Pot belly? Hairy back. Pimples? A tail?" Relena questioned.
"No!" Flustered and strangely more attracted to her, Heero ran a hand through his bangs.
"Good. Come see me next week at my studio. Here's my card. Bye!" Relena didn't wait for another no. She handed him her business card and winked as she walked back inside the house.
And for the first time in his short life, Heero Yuy was completely blown away by a woman.
************
Once their guest drove out of the drive way, the gloves were off between sisters. Maureen could only worry and watch.
"He's mine, Relena." Sylvia growled angrily. Her face twisted up in a snarl. Which wasn't a pretty picture by any means.
"Yeah, about that. Doesn't seem your type, aside from the rich thing." Relena said, heading to the living room couch. Flopping down, she gazed disinterested in her sister's anger.
"Well, we have a lot in common." Sylvia smugly replied.
*Yeah, you're both made of stone. What was his story? I have to know.* Relena rolled her eyes at Sylvia and continued ignoring her.
Sylvia's face turned red. "I mean it! This guy is not only handsome, he's a gold mine. If you-"
"So is that Treize guy you've been seeing and every other thing with legs. Spare me. You find his bank account charming, not him."
"Maybe I do." Sylvia shrugged.
"Sylvia, what an awful thing to say!" Maureen shook her head in dismay.
Relena shook her head also, but not from shock. She knew what Sylvia was really like. "I'm sculpting him, not baring his love child. Yet."
"Relena!" both Maureen and Sylvia shouted in unison. Relena giggled in reply.
*********
A week later Heero tried to talk himself out of what he was about to do. After the dinner at the Peacecraft's Heero had wanted to put as much distance between him and any female with that last name. After bluntly telling Sylvia he wasn't interested in a relationship, he thought that would be the end of it. But she was persistent that she wanted him. Only after the threat of a pre-nup agreement if he ever married, quickly cooled her ardor. Unlike Sylvia, he didn't think the sister was anything like her. In fact, their open hostility showed just how different their personalities were.
*Why am I even here?* But he knew the answer to that and it had nothing to do with sculpture. Relena Peacecraft was very attractive, bold and out spoken. Her statement to Quatre over the country club proved that. He admired that.
Knocking outside the studio door, Heero wondered if he was making the right decision. When she answered dressed in a old, blue flannel shirt and shorts that did nothing to hide her figure, he knew he had made the right choice.
*********
Relena finished up her sketches, putting down the sketch pad and chalk. Surprised and pleased, he had indeed showed up, she had to work hard to concentrate. She had met plenty of good looking men, but this guy took the cake. Seeming ice cold, his eyes were so expressive. So blue...no prussian blue. She had never seen a more beautiful color.
Unfortunately, he kept his clothes on.
"Thank you, I think this pose is my favorite. This is the one I'll sculpt." Relena said.
She slid off of her stool and walked over to where Heero sat in a chair in the middle of the studio. His beige short sleeved shirt and jeans showed off a powerful body. He was the perfect model in more ways than one.
Showing him her drawing, she nervously awaited his reaction. He concentrated on the sketches, turning each page, looking intently.
"You're very talented." Heero said sincerely. He was impressed by her drawings and skill. Although he knew she said she wanted to sculpt him, he could see she actually had the talent to do it.
"Thank you. You were an excellent model." she smiled at him.
"Disappointed you didn't get me to model for you naked?" Heero smiled in return.
"Very. Next time." she said, winking. She took the pad back from him and walked back to her drawing table to set it down.
"Have dinner with me tonight?" Heero impulsively asked.
"Pick me up at eight." Relena replied. She wasn't crazy. She knew a catch when she saw one.
************
A great sculpture in Relena's opinion took time to perfect. Months even. Months of dating before it was finished to her standards. And she would present it tonight to Heero over dinner. She wanted to really impress him. He often complimented her art work, but this was her first sculpture of someone really special to her. Gazing down at the bronze statue, she knew she had in her hands her best work yet.
************
"Is she still bothering you?" Duo asked, plopping his feet up against Heero's desk. One reason was because he was tired from staying up all night with his new born son. Another, because it never failed to piss Heero off.
"Yes. And get your big ass feet off my desk. I know your wife taught you better manners." Heero grunted to his friend as he paced.
Duo smirked, happy to rattle his pal. "Hilde doesn't let me put my feet up on the furniture at home. That's why I have you, buddy."
Duo wisely took his feet down seeing Heero heated glance. Flipping his long braid back over his shoulders, he continued grinning. A light, jovial person, nothing ever really got Duo down. Maybe that's why he and Heero were best friends. Heero was the straight man while he was comic relief.
"Have you told Relena?" Duo questioned.
"No. What am I going to say? Your pushy sister is trying to start up a relationship again because she got dumped by her boyfriend. Hell, Sylvia was wonderful about Relena and I dating once she realized I wasn't interested in her. Now she thinks she can seduce me. We never had that type of relationship to begin with." Heero sighed.
"You better tell her and let them deal with it. If Relena finds out her sister was making a play and you didn't tell her...boy, would you be in the dog house." Duo whistled.
"I know. I want to get this settled before I ask her." Heero said.
On a lunch break from work, Relena hoped they could have a quick bite together before the nights unveling. Outside Heero's office, Relena was chatting with Heero's receptionist, Sally Po. A smart and pretty strawberry blond, Relena was surprised to hear she was newly engaged to Wufei, one of Heero's partners. Having met him only once had been enough. Sally must be a saint.
"Congratulations. When's the big day?' Relena asked.
Beaming, Sally laughed. "When I can tear him away from work."
Laughing, Relena was about to continue when she heard Heero talking loudly from inside his office.
"She's a pain in the ass. I don't know what to say to get rid of her." Heero voiced, frustrated.
"You better tell Relena soon. It'll make it less painful for her to know the truth." Another voice answered.
Relena instantly recognized it as Duo, Heero's friend. She felt the hair on the back of her neck rise as she eavesdropped. A lump came in her throat. Were they discussing her?!
"You're right. If I want to move on with my life, I need to get this all handled soon."
"Maybe you should call her up and let her down easy. That way there's no scene." Duo
suggested.
Feeling sick to her stomach, Relena just stood there in shock. *All of these months together and he wants to dump me? He always acted like he was happy. What went wrong?*
But shock soon turned to anger. *How dare he?! I told him I loved him and he wanted to toss her aside like trash?*
Slamming the office door hard, Relena stormed in. Heero and Duo jumped up in surprise.
"You jerk! If you want to end our relationship, be a man and tell me to my face. No, better yet, I'll tell you. You're a heartless bastard. We're through!" she shouted.
Turning away, Relena stormed out, heading for the elevators.
"Oh, dear." Sally grimaced from her desk. She watched as Relena walked away and Heero just stood in the middle of his office in a comatose state. It didn't take long before Heero put two and two together. He raced after Relena while Duo and Sally looked on.
After a few moments of silence, Duo leaned against her desk. "So, how much you bet he proposes?"
Sally snorted. "That's a sucker bet, Maxwell."
***********
Relena made it to the elevators before Heero could catch her. Cursing, Heero took the stairs. Too bad he had an office on the tenth floor.
Running through the parking lot, Relena was just about to open her car door when Heero sprang out of nowhere. Grabbing her suddenly, he pulled her into his arms. Angry and hurt, she resisted and tried to break free.
"Marry me."
Stunned, Relena froze in his arms. Pleased with her reaction, Heero brought her close and kissed her lips. She didn't respond at first, but soon melted into his arms. He ran his hands over her back gently, clutching her close. Catching the back of her head, they pressed open-mouthed kisses, tasting each other. He held her, coaxed her, coerced her...deepened the kiss.
They finally pulled away from one another for much needed air. "Just let me explain everything, okay?" Heero pleaded, not letting up his hold on her.
When she nodded, he breathed a sigh of relief. Explaining the unfortunate situation with her sister, Heero worried about her reaction.
"I can't believe she would-yes, I can. Well, I'm glad you told me. Sorry about blowing up at you." Relena sighed. *That bitch! I'll strangle her later.*
"It was understandable. Just don't jump to any more conclusions, please." he said.
Relena smiled as she nodded. The sadness that had entered her heart was gone and now filled with relief. He wanted her...just her.
"You didn't answer my question." Heero said, gazing at her intently.
"What qu-oh! Right. I didn't."
"Well?" he asked anxiously.
"What do you think?" Relena grinned, before pulling his head down . They shared a very heated kiss and Heero got his answer.
************
Heero smiled down at his sculpture that Relena had presented over dinner. He considered himself a very lucky man. He owed his friends poor match making attempts and a spunky sculptor his happiness. It was an exact likeness of him in every way. Her attention to detail was astounding. And in the end she got what she wanted. A bronze sculpture of him...naked.
That's the end of that. Hope you all enjoyed it. I'm going to rest my poor fingers and eat everything chocolate in my house. Bye!

Relena's charcter was wild and I loved it. All the characters were new but not too OOC that it wasn't unbelievable. Very nice. And the comment at the end about Heero's sculpture in the nude...cute.
