chapter two: "So, what's a fantasy of yours?"
?Damn it,? Heero cursed, watching the lithe figure disappear among the throng of clubbers. Now he?d have to go and get her. It would be impossible to just pretend that they hadn?t seen each other, no matter how much both of them obviously wish they hadn?t. Rising from his bar stool, Heero?s eyes trained in on Relena?s fleeing back, and he began to give chase.
The bar tender was too late. ?Hey, you didn?t pay!?
?Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!? Relena whispered desperately. ?How am I gonna get outta here? Heero?s gonna get me!?
It wasn?t fear of Heero that made her run, Relena knew. But it was the fact that seeing him again, without her being prepared for such a confrontation, really through her off balance. Her suppressed feelings came back, slamming through her harder than ever.
Ignoring the toes she stepped on and the people she slammed into, Relena kept running until she spied the exit sign of the club. With only a few more steps to go, Relena felt an iron grip clamp itself about her wrist. Freezing in her tracks, Relena couldn?t bring herself to turn her head. Maybe if she just didn?t look at him, he would go away?
?That wasn?t very nice, Relena. You didn?t even say hi.?
That oh so familiar voice caused tingles to go up Relena?s spine. Feeling his body?s heat and the warmth of his breath stirring her loose hair told Relena that Heero was nearly pressed flat against her back. But the smell of the alcohol that clung to him also told Relena that Heero had been drinking for quite a long time. He began to drag her back towards the bar.
The decision on whether to just turn and talk to him was taken away from Relena as Heero tugged on her wrist and pushed her onto a bar stool. Slightly ticked off at the slight, she decided to give him a piece of her mind. Finally turning, Relena slowly ran her eyes up the large expanse of black material that was Heero?s clothed chest. Meeting his hard eyes, Relena realized that his proximity was too close for comfort, three years of separation be damned.
?Well then, ?hi, Heero,? nice to see you again, but if you don?t mind, I?ve got to be going to, uh, Duo?s place.? Relena replied, unnerved with the way Heero was acting. She knew he could care less whether she said hello or not.
At Relena?s response, Heero felt Jealousy rear its ugly green head. ?Oh really? How?s Duo doing these days anyway? You guys been banging each other long??
Relena felt anger flush her cheeks, but instead of slapping him like he deserved for suggesting such a thing, she just took a long look into Heero?s eyes. Searching his eyes, Relena thought she saw something flash by, but she couldn?t put a name to it?
Relena?s lack of response lead Heero into believing that he was right. He?d actually nursed a small amount of hope that Relena wasn?t really with Duo, since he wasn?t with her right now. What a fool he?d been. Thinking so, Heero?s eyes narrowed, his jealousy eating away at his stomach. ?So, I was right.?
?What the hell are you talking about, Heero?? Relena asked, jolted out of her thoughts for a second. Looking back into his eyes for a moment, she prepared to explain herself, but instead, her voice trailed slowly away, ?Duo and I are only??
Relena finally realized what had been making Heero?s eyes glow with such intensity.
He was jealous.
?What?? Heero asked. He didn?t like the light of discovery that lit Relena?s eyes.
With barely suppressed hope, Relena decided to play the game a little longer. Crossing her arms and acting nonchalant, Relena answered, ?Friends. Close friends, but what?s it to you??
Clenching his teeth, Heero felt pride take hold of him. ?Nothing, nothing at all. But listen, I gotta go meet up with?? he had to make up a name fast, ?with Anna soon, but I wanna play a game with you first.?
Relena felt her high hopes crush painfully as the unknown woman?s name fell from Heero?s lips. So he?d found someone to be with? It was so stupid of her to wait for him. I guess, I really didn?t mean anything at all to him.
?What kind of game??
?A drinking game,? he explained.
Signaling the same bar tender over, Heero asked for one bottle of Tequila and two shot glasses. Just as he was reaching for the objects, the bar tender asked, ?You are going to pay this time, right??
One glare and the bar tender decided that having his head still attached to his body was a really good thing.
?Come on, Hilde, I feel like dancing tonight. Wanna go out?? Duo asked.
As she was washing the dishes, Hilde Scheibecker felt two strong arms wrap themselves around her waste, squeezing in gentle persuasion. She smiled a secret smile. Duo had become considerably more affectionate since the end of the Eve Wars three years ago, and just hearing his voice was enough to make her melt. With her decision already made up, Hilde decided to make Duo beg a little more.
?I?m not sure, Duo. I?m not really up for clubbing right now.?
Her ?reluctance? had its intended effect.
Hilde felt Duo?s body press full length against her back. His lips were right next to her ear, sending hot shivers down her spine as he spoke. ?Please? I?ll make it worth your while?? He started to move against her, and Hilde gave in before she had a chance to liquefy into a puddle on the kitchen floor.
She could barely contain her smile. ?Oh, alright.?
Relena eyed the shot glasses warily as Heero carefully poured the clear liquid into them. With both glasses filled to the brim, he turned back to her and gave a slight smirk, the ghost of a dimple shadowing the right side of his chin. He dug in his pockets and produced a coin, all the while not saying a word.
Extending his hand, Heero made a fist, placed the coin on top, and flicked his thumb up. Relena, her eyes glued to the coin, was mesmerized. The coin flipped end over end, up and up, the club lights reflecting off its shiny surface. Down it came, still tumbling in a spin, and Heero caught it with ease, the coin disappearing from Relena?s view and snapping her out of her dazed stare.
?This is what you do,? Heero explained, flashing the coin again. ?You?re ?heads,? and I?m ?tails.? We flip and whoever?s side is right side up, they have to down their glass and say?? he trailed off suggestively. Relena suddenly felt really nervous.
She had to ask. ?Say what??
?Why, say a fantasy of theirs. You in, still??
Relena knew that backing out was no option. It didn?t matter that her mind was screaming at her to run for cover. Her curiosity beat it hands down. Sitting straighter on her bar stool, Relena nodded her consent. ?I?m still in.?
Heero?s eyes glinted. ?Alright.?
He flipped and caught the coin, his left hand covering the palm of his right. He looked up at Relena, and the dimple appeared again.
?What do you think it is??
?I think it?s yours. Tails.? Relena challenged. But as Heero lifted his hand and cocked an eyebrow, she knew it was Heads. She was first.
Sighing, Relena reached for her shot glass and downed its contents in a single swallow. She instantly regretted it. Fire shot down her throat and landed in her stomach, burning a hole in her intestinal track as far as Relena felt. She gasped and coughed, her eyes watering from the shock, and Heero helpfully thumped her back until she calmed.
By now, Relena was not in a good mood and everything turned worse when Heero reminded her about the second part of the game.
?So, what?s a fantasy of yours??
Angry that her cheeks were flaming crimson and embarrassed at what she was going to say, Relena lowered her voice and tipped her head forward, her hair shielding her hot face. ?I?m in my office working overtime and suddenly the power is cut off. I?m scared but you ? I mean, my bodyguard, um, is still there with me?
?Ah, here we are. Insomnia,? Duo exclaimed. Opening the door so that Hilde could pass by, Duo took his time to look around. He could feel the bass of the music thrum through him, and he itched to dance and get a chance to hold Hilde close.
?Wow, this place is packed and it?s only 11:30.?
?Uh-huh,? Duo mumbled, already heading for the dance floor. ?Now, sorry for being pushy, but how about that dance, hmm??
As Hilde was pulled onto the dance floor and locked in a possessive embrace, she buried her face in Duo?s shoulder, holding back a sigh of satisfaction.
Two hours later and with ten drinks and ten fantasies apiece, Heero and Relena were both starting to see double of each other. Relena decided to finally call it quits. Her face was still flushed and to add to it, her mind was now filled with images that she?d rather not put into words for fear of burning up on the spot. She began to get up.
?I think? Uh, that I should go home now. Thanks for the drinks, Heero. It was nice to see you again.?
Just as she was about to step passed him, Heero grabbed her by the elbow and pulled her back to her seat. ?Just one more, please. I?ve got something special for this one.?
Relena was amazed. ?How?s that possible? We?ve discussed everything from blackouts at work, the blanket scenario in a deserted cabin in the winter, to being stuck in an elevator with you ? uh, I mean, a stranger. What else could we do??
?Just say yes.?
Biting her lip, Relena reluctantly said yes. Why do I have a feeling that I should?ve said no?
Heero leaned forward until their noses were only inches apart. ?Just once more. But this time, if it?s Heads, I kiss you. If it?s tails, you kiss me.?
Freezing, Relena had only a second to refuse before she saw the coin fly upwards in between them. It was caught in a blur, and she waited in silence to find out their fate. She licked her lips in her nervousness, unaware of the reaction Heero had to seeing her tongue flick across her lower lip. Gritting his teeth against a moan, Heero slapped his hand over the coin. As his hand slowly lifted up, Relena worked out the outcomes of the toss.
Heads, he kisses me. Tails, I kiss him. Either way?
Relena only saw the top of a profile?s head before she was grabbed and immersed in the heat of Heero?s lips.
Notes: Muhahahaha, that?s all for now, kiddies. What do you think will happen? Hmmm? Well, you?ll just have to wait until I get the next part out.

Hmmmm, mine's looking a little rusty, but I guess it'll still work. Hey, Stella, do pitchforks ever go bad?
Stella: *looking in her root of all evil handbook* Nope. Says right here, it should be fine. Oh, it even has a recipe for removing rust stains.
Rose: Nah, the rust will be good for her, I think.
Stella: Oh lord, who are you after now?
Rose: SHE LEFT US THERE!
Stella: *reads over Rose's shoulder* Hm?
*20 minutes later*
Stella: DAMMIT! She can't end it there!
Rose: I know! *sharpens points on pitchfork*
Stella: I have the everlight torch.
Rose: Ooh, good brand. Guaranteed to not go out during a stake burning...
Nausicaa: Does this count as feedback?
Rose and Stella: Oh, I'm sorry, are you talking? Because you NEED to be writing! More Heero x Relena kissing, lime, now!
Nausicaa: O_O;;;
*whines*
It was just getting to the really GOOD part!
Hope to see more soon!
Love,
Rose
