It?s A Kid Thing
Chapter 6
Melville?s Best Friend

?Hello? Oh, hi Mrs. Yuy. I?m fine and you? Good, I?m glad to hear that. Uh huh. Well, yeah. My audition?s?.Right. Okay?Yeah he?s going up there with me?.Well, we can share a party when he gets into Har--?..what? WHAT??
Relena threw the phone to her mother and ran out of the door. She sprinted across the street to Heero?s house and flew to the backyard, which housed his window. She easily climbed a tree by his bedroom window, and, seeing as how he?d left it open, climbed in his room. He was asleep on his bed?She smiled, as it was only 6:30. She was going to wake him up gently, but decided against it, as he had pissed her off. Taking a step backwards, she ran and leapt onto his bed?.Or?.on him, rather. A giant ?oof!? was solid proof she had hit her intended target. She laughed.
Words were lost in his pillow and under his sheets. He sounded like a gagged chipmunk on speed?..Which added to Relena?s laughter. When he had had enough, he easily threw her off the bed. She landed on the floor with a thud, and she heard his mother laugh from downstairs.

?Lena! Heero?s asleep!?

?Thank you Mrs. Yuy!? she screamed with all her might. ?I?ll be sure not to wake him!? A pillow hit her jovial face, and her delicate head flew back with the force. When she removed the object from her head, she met his red face and mussed hair. He was actually smiling at her. The freak. How dare he? She stood up, went to his bed, grabbed his nipple, and twisted.

?Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!? he screamed as he squirmed out of her grasp.

?That was for the pillow. I should kick you in the balls for the other thing.?

?What other thing?? he questioned, his was talking in falsetto. Relena tried her hardest not to smile; she was serious. She was upset he hadn?t told her this sooner?..Like?.When he found out!

?Heero. You know what I mean! How could you not tell me??

?About?.??

?About Harvard, moron! You got in?.With a FULL RIDE?!?!?!?!?!? she would have hugged him were she not so enraged.

?Oh that. I didn?t want to say anything until you got in to Julliard.?

?That?s not extenuating, Heero. You should have told me.?

?I can?t believe you know that word. That?s impressive.?
She glared at him while she watched him nonchalantly calm down. He fell back down on his bed, rubbing his bruised chest and sighing. Satisfied that she had hurt him, she climbed in beside him, and placed her head atop his chest. He drew her closer, and hugged her.

?Proud??

She didn?t move. Heero knew what was coming. He should have worn his earplugs.

?Oh my gosh, Heero! I?m so PROUD of you!!!!? she hugged him so tightly he thought she was going to choke him. Actually she was?..

?Lena! Stop!?

?Sorry! It?s just?? she looked at him with joyous eyes. He had to smile.
?Relena?? He raised a hand to her cheek, caressing her face. ?Thank you? he whispered before slowly pulling her chin towards his. She melted on impact, fondling his tongue with hers, mimicking his gestures as she felt him raise his hand to pull her onto the bed with him. She blushed, unable to hide her astonishment when his hands slowly moved down to her waist, brushing against her thighs in a most tantalizing manner. She openly gasped and fell atop him, pinning him down to the bed. Smiling, she kissed him on the top of his forehead, swiftly ending their lover?s journey.
?Heero, I can?t believe you didn?t tell me,? she said with a sigh. A small moan escaped his lips when he felt her warmth leave him. She had moved from on top of him, to nestle beside him, head on his chest. ?It upsets me that you didn?t even mention it,? her hand curled around his arm, squeezing lightly. He inwardly smiled at her tenderness, though he never acknowledged her comment. They fell asleep in each other?s arms, a symbol of chaste love for the dimming sun?which was slowly setting, illuminating the two.

?Oh my word, Heero! It?s beautiful!?

?It?s crowded.?

?It?s busy.?

?It?s loud.?

?It?s music.?

?It?s dirty.?

???..Yes. Yes it is. Filthy, actually.?

?Tell me why you want to live here again.?

?Because they have the best dance school EVER.?

?Relena?There?s dirt?on the dirt?.?

?You so need to lighten up.?

??????.?

Sighing, she followed the bellboy into their room. He opened the door for them, and allowed them to step inside and gaze at the wonder that was a New York hotel.

?You?ve got to be kidding me?Your parents paid for this??

?Yup?But they said I have to spend the rest of my life paying them back?and I will?.?

She threw herself on the couch?which was large enough to be a bed. A good thing, too, because that?s where Heero was sleeping. She spread herself out on it and sighed as the bellboy stood in the doorway waiting for his tip. Heero paid the man and shut the door, ready to kill Relena for messing up his bed.

?Get off.?

?I?m tired.?

?So am I. Get off.?

?No.?

?Now, Relena.?

?Heeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr--------Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

He picked her up and threw her off the bed. She fell in a heap on the floor, waiting for his apologies. When none came, she made a pouting noise and left the room. He heard the shower start up, and started to fall asleep with the gentle slaps of water against the tile. Improper thoughts about his best friend swam through his mind, however, as he realized she was taking a shower. Suddenly physically uncomfortable, he sat upright?Only to be doused with freezing cold water from a pitcher she had found. His clothes stuck to his skin, and the shaggy sweatpants did little to hide his situation. Gazing down at his form, Relena saw where Heero Yuy?s thoughts had previously been lying. She dropped the pitcher to the ground, and held her sides she was laughing so hard.
He ran his hands through his soaked hair, noting that the cold water settled down his body, but not his temper. In a quick swipe, she was in his arms headed towards the shower, but had yet to stop laughing. He turned all the cold water on, and stuck her in there, watching her laughter?not subside, actually, which only added to his anger. He turned off the water.

?Stop laughing.?

The fit continued.

?Stop laughing.?

No pause.

?If you don?t stop laughing, I?ll tell everyone at school you stuff your bra with Victoria Secret boobie-padding.?

Pause.

?You wouldn?t dare.?

An eyebrow raised towards the sky. ?Oh? Wouldn?t I?? He turned back the shower and left her standing there.

?I love this place, Heero. It makes me feel alive and important.?

He glanced at her, memorizing her face. ?You don?t feel that way at home??

She flinched and whispered her answer. ?No I don?t.?

?You?re going to love it here, Relena.?

She smiled at him. ?I know.?

They were walking down the busy streets of New York around sunset. She convinced Heero to go sightseeing with her. All she had to do was point out the fact that ?more women get raped?? and he had stopped her mid-sentence. They were walking up a small hill, and he felt her hand wrap around his. He squeezed her hand, adding warmth to her entire body with a single touch. They walked in silence until Relena saw a bridge overlooking a small pond. She ran towards it, leaving the comfort of Heero?s hand to stand upon it, and looking over the side.

?It?s so beautiful here,? she whispered as she looked around the park. Although the coldness chilled her to the bone, and her nose turned a bright red that she didn?t particularly enjoy, she sighed as the tranquility melted her core.

?This,? she said to Heero, who had followed her to the bridge, ?is where I?ll go to calm down after a bad day.?

?You plan on having bad days??

?They?re inevitable. But this is where I?ll be, Heero. It?s very calm here, don?t you think??

He said nothing, but watched her face as she spoke. She was truly happy. He had never seen her like this before. She seemed so carefree and excited. He found himself smiling at her?Until he realized what all of this meant. He would never see her anymore. They would see each other for the holidays? But that was it. That wasn?t enough time. They?d never been apart for more than 10 days their entire life, and he felt such sorrow at that thought that it made him dizzy. He sat down on a bench next to the bridge.

?It?s not scary, Heero.?

He looked at her, puzzled. ?Pardon?

?The bridge. It?s not scary. We?re probably?20 feet above the water, and I?m not scared at all.? She continued to stare at the water as she spoke to him. ?It?s because you?re here, I think. And that makes me happy, Heero, because I can do anything when you?re near. That?s why I had you come up here. The judges will allow visitors in the back of the stage. Knowing you?ll be there makes all the fear go away,? she whispered.

Knowing we?ll be apart frightens me more than death, Relena?

?Heero??

?Yeah??

?We should get back. I have a big day tomorrow, you know!? she smiled. He couldn?t reciprocate. He just got to his feet, and walked with her back to the hotel.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

?Heero, I audition at 3:30. You have to be there on time.?

?I?ll be there? came a muffled voice from underneath a sheet.

?Heero, I mean it! Please! You have to take the taxi early. If you could be there at 3:00 to help me calm down, I would love you forever.?

You can?t, Relena?

?Alright,? he sat up. I?m up. I?m getting ready. Why are you going so early??

?Warm-ups?Meet the teachers?.You know?Chat with all the other scared people??

?Okay?Sorry I asked.?

?Heero. Look me in the eye and promise me you?ll be there.?

He nodded, head turned away.

?Heero!?

He turned around to stare at her, watching her trembling form. He looked straight in her eyes and told her what she wanted to hear.

?I promise.?

She sighed. ?I?ll be waiting!? she hugged him goodbye, and took her big bag of dance stuff?her ballet duffle that she had had since she was 5? ?Remember! Be there at 3:00!!!!!?

?I won?t forget.?

?Look presentable, Heero.? And with that, she left. He sat back down on the bed, and ran his trembling fingers through his hair. His voice would have cracked had he spoke aloud, so he whispered his feelings to the emptiness of the room.

?I?m so sorry, Relena??

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

?Number 47, you?re up next!? The loud woman screeched as she weaved through the masses of dancers. She looked straight at Relena. ?You?re up next, hon.?

?Is there any way I can go later??

?Sure there is,? she lowered her glasses, and narrowed her eyes at the young dancer, ?If you want to loose your opportunity to get in to this school, then you?ll forgo your slot.? She turned around and called out to the other dancers to leave if they had finished auditioning.

?Oh, gosh?? Relena was flushed. She was so nervous; a rash covered her delicate skin, and threatened to stay for an extended period. A girl beside her noticed her color, and laughed, whipping out some make-up, and started applying it to her. She rambled on and on.

?Goodness! You look like a tomato! No need to be nervous, though! We all saw you warm up! You?re in for sure, lucky little filly!? the girl closed her eyes and smiled before she noticed that Relena?s heart was racing, and her face was growing more red by the minute. She was utterly and totally panic-stricken.

?Hey! Hey, calm down!?

Relena had begun to hyperventilate.

?Honey! It?s okay! You?ll do fine!?

Relena managed to shake her head, and whipped out her phone once more to try him for the 4 thousandth time.

?Who?re ya? callin?? Are you okay??

?Pick up the phone, Heero!!!!!!? Her frantic voice frightened the other dancer, but made her want to help Relena more.

?What?s going on? You?re a lot more stressed than just nerves!?

?My friend,? said a shaking Relena, ?He was supposed to be here?I can?t get hold of him? What if he?s hurt!?!??

?I?m sure he?s?.?

Relena grabbed her throbbing head, pain shooting from all over her brain, trying to force her to pass out. ?What if he?s hurt! What if something?s happened to him! What if he?s in trouble, and he needs my help!?

?Woah!!!!!!!!!? The girl grabbed on to Relena?s hands, and stroked her back until she calmed down a small bit. She was still shaking, and had to sit, as it was impossible for her to stand. ?I?m sure he?s fine. He probably just missed his taxi or something!?

?He?s never late. He?s never that careless?.Something?s wrong?Something?s wrong with him!?

?I?m sure he?s fine, dear! They probably didn?t let him back here. He?s probably in the front, waiting for you to go onstage.?

?But his phone??

?Could have broken, or he could have left it in the hotel, or?No batteries?.A number of things could have gone wrong! Don?t worry! He?s fine. I promise.? She smiled again. Relena?s shaking didn?t stop, however.

?I have to go look for him?? she stood up to leave, pulling her jacket on.

?No way! You can?t leave! You won?t get in!?

?Heero?s more important to me that this.?

?More important than your future??

?He IS my future.?

?So THAT?S why you want him so badly? He?s your boyfriend?? she took Relena?s arm. ?Look, let?s assume that something did happen?Just assume? What would he want you to do were he dead or unable to reach you??

?He?d want me to audition? she whispered? ?But I can?t!?

?You can, and you will! Look for him afterwards. But, do thins because it?s for you. You?ve obviously worked hard on it?As I said before, we are all envious of your talent.?

?But I???.?

?Heero would want you to do this. You said it yourself??

?Number 47! You?re up!?

?Go get ?em, tiger! I?ll be cheering you on!?

?Heero???

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

?Hey, doll. I have to say, I?m not used ta? such high class. This hotel musta? cost you a fortune!? she said, popping her gum. She ran her hand on a tabletop, feeling the smooth feel of something clean beneath her fingertips. ?Wow,? she whispered before turning around with a huge smile on her face, eyes closed. ?This is amazing!?

?Hn.?

She gave him an odd look. ?Well, uh?What do ya? wanna? do? I mean, dontcha wanna????

An icy glare flew into her eyes, and she felt herself go numb. ?We don?t touch until I give the signal.?

?So, uh, what?s this all for anyways?? she said, trying to calm her heart from the attack his eyes had given her.

?It?s not of your concern.?

The girl smiled when she realized what was going on, and made a small ?ah ha? noise when she had figured it out. ?I know your type. Other girls get them all the time.? She popped her gum once more, loudly smacking.
?I hear about it all the time, I do. They say the girlfriend walks right in on them, sees my friend and some dude makin? out on a lazy boy,? Smack. ?Girl never wants ta? see the guy again.? Pop. ?So, eh, what she do to ya? anyways? I mean, ta? make ya? wanna leave ?er??

?She made me fall in love.?

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

?Number 47, Miss?. Relena?? the man lowered his glasses and eyed the girl onstage. She was clad in a dark purple leotard and thick black tights. Her ballet slippers were well worn, and her leg warmers molded to her frame as if they?d studied every curve of her muscular leg.

?We?ve been looking forward to your audition, Relena. We know you?ve been working long and hard.?

She nodded, unable to speak.

?You may start when you wish, dear,? said a woman sitting next to the man that had talked to her. There were three judges in all, and they looked brightly at the girl on the stage, eager to see what she had in her. She was the material Julliard was made of.

They would never know.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

This is it. No turning back now. This is my destiny. I was meant for this. This is my path. It was chosen for me ever since I was born.

You keep telling me I can go ahead. I understand you, but can?t you see? Can?t you tell I?m scared? I?m a wreck, here, people!

And it?s not because I?m nervous.

It?s because?I?m scared.

All I can think about is Heero. All I can concentrate on is Heero.

In a ditch.
Bleeding.
Hurting.
In trouble.
Alone.
Dirty.
Filthy, really.
There?s dirt on his dirt.

Would he really want me to go on with this? Is this what he would tell me if he were dead?

Dead?

I can?t think about that. Shake those thoughts out of your head, girl.

Smile.

Pose.

Dance.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

?Oh my word?? she looked on the stage from behind the curtain, carefully assessing the situation before her. What she saw made no sense. What they ALL saw made no sense!

?She?s??

?Terrible. Da?s what she is, okay?? a young boy behind her stated, albeit a little bit prissy.

?Cut the crap, William, okay? Jeez. The girl?s got a lot on her mind, y?know??

?Mmmhmm. Well she bess? get her dancin? on her mind ?cause what I see a?int makin? is? way up in hee.? He turned around to warm up some more, snapping his fingers in a defiant way as he turned. Her eyes watched on bleakly.

?Come on, girl??? she quietly whispered.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

She stopped. The judges were astonished. She not only, well?.blew her shot with her dancing, but now she had stopped in the middle of her song. She jittered about nervously before stammering.

?I?m?.Very sorry, but I can?t right now. Please accept my apologies.? She curtseyed and ran off the stage, grabbing her jacket and bag and running out the door to flag a taxi.

The judges mouths hung open before disappointment fell over their features.

?And she could dance, too. It?s just too bad she?s one of the nervous types.?

?Pity. Someone should?ve worked with her on that.?

They set her papers aside, ready to move on to the next auditionee.

?Excuse me? Sirs, Madame?? the same girl who had helped Relena stepped out from behind the curtain. ?I think there?s something you should know??

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

She ran out of the taxi, screaming at the driver to wait until she came back, and that he could keep the meter running. He came out with some wise retort she would have normally found incredibly frustrating, and probably would have yelled back at him were she not so scared for Heero. She had been looking for hours, up and down every street, behind every alley. She was currently roaming the bridge where she and Heero had discussed her future. Maybe he was there.

She caught her breath quickly as she looked for him. She even looked over the side of the bridge. Nothing. The fact that she hadn?t seen his body on the bank made her sigh with relief, only to be scolded by her brain that she still had yet to find him. Her brain once more told her something. Running back to the taxi, she was red from running, and out of breath.

?Plaza hotel, and step on it!!!!!? she barked.

?Right-o missy. We?ll be tha? in a jiff. I?ll just use my magic cahpet to fly us on ova? tha?, and we?ll be ova? tha? in tha? haht-beat of a mystical unicahn.?

She grabbed his collar, her eye twitching out of its socket. ?Listen here, you Nightmare on Elm Street look-alike. I don?t care what you do, and I don?t care how you do it, but get me over to that hotel NOW!?

?Missy, you?d be lucky if, in this weatha? and traffic, to get tha? in a few days.?

She shoved him, dumping money in the front seat, and started to run to her destination. She would get to him?She was so stupid! Why didn?t she see it before? She ran through streets filled with people, and snow fell all around her. She paid no attention to the cold biting at her body through her leotard. She ran with her light jacket on, and her bag slumped over her shoulder.

?Excuse me! Sorry!? she ran through the crowds, bumping into people, caring less about who she hit.

His family. He wouldn?t have left the hotel If someone had called about his family?

?Heero, I?m coming!?

And tears that built up in her eyes wouldn?t fall because Heero was not there to tell her that it was all right.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The phone?s ringing. I know who it is even before I think about picking it up. The manager is confirming that Relena had entered the hotel.

Showtime.

I grab the woman I met on the street, and her cold figure chills my body to the bone?Or maybe it?s the fact that I?m doing this to Relena that has me so worried?

But thoughts like that shouldn?t penetrate my mind at this point. This is what I have to do to ensure her never wanting to see me again?Because I know neither of us could stay apart forever. This is my graduation present to you, Relena. I love you so much that I can?t hurt you?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

She ran quickly to the door, having taken out her key-card minutes before. She never noticed anything was out of the ordinary when she walked in?screaming for Heero. It didn?t register to her that he was with someone. She didn?t even see her. Just him.

She ran up to him, hugging and kissing, and wrapped her arms around him so tightly that they hurt her body. She moved on from happiness to worry as she checked every inch of his body, her hands roaming where they would, checking for a cut, or a missing limb, or a fever. When nothing out of the ordinary was found, she started asking questions about his parents. Were they okay? When was the funeral? She would help Heero through this. It was all right. He had to push her away before she noticed.

He wasn?t wearing a shirt?and there was a woman whose clothes were skimpy as a Brittany Spears g-string. A moment of confusion washed over her face. The whole time she had been babbling, and he had said not a word. Silent. She looked at the girl madly when she finally caught on.

With the speed of a cat, she was by the woman?s side, yanking her hair with ironclad fists. In a flash, she was out the door and Relena had slammed it on her.

He just stood there.

?I?What?? her hands balled into fists of pure rage by her sides, as her words struggled to manifest.

He just stood there.

?You??.you?.YOU!!!!!!!! Where were you?? she kept her back to him.

No answer.

?You were here?with a woman you didn?t even know? While I worried for you??

Silence.

?While I worried to the point that I?? she felt sick, ?gave up my audition for you??

He visibly paled. It wasn?t supposed to happen like that?

?I tried to dance, Heero, but?I couldn?t. You were out there somewhere?hurt, alone?dying? All sorts of things flew through my mind? And you?? she turned to him, ?you were here with a woman you didn?t even know.?

?You tried to audition??

?Yes, Heero. I tried. But I stopped in the middle, faint with worry over you. You COST ME THIS COLLEGE!?

He was upset. Her not getting into college was NOT his fault.

?Let me get this straight,? he sneered, ?You thought I was dead, so you went in to audition? THIS is how concerned you were??

?Don?t you dare turn this around on me, He??

?That?s where your loyalties lie, huh? Think a guy?s dead, but who cares? I mean, him being dead doesn?t mean anything to you,? his eyes narrowed, ?because you had to get into a school. That?s all it was about.?

?What the hell are you talking about??

?Your concern really shows, Relena. Caring so much about me that you go on with your routine.?

?The only thing that pushed me on that stage was the knowledge that, were you dead, you would want me to be happy.?

?The only thing that pushed you on that stage was the knowledge that you were going to boost your ego. This wasn?t the first time you had to have people come to see you dance, was it Relena??

?Heero, that?s enough? she said, getting teary.

?You had to have your parents come to see you when you were little, remember that??

?Heero!? she was red in the face, unable to take much more of his harsh words.

?Do you remember the tantrum you threw??

?Stop!? she blocked her ears.

?And the only reason they died was because you left a toy, a little ball, in the back of the car. The ONLY reason they died was because you wouldn?t listen to anyone but yourself. You wouldn?t clean out your toys because you were busy practicing. You wanted them to come see you, and the only reason they died was because that ball went under that break, and they couldn?t stop. You killed them, and you kept on?and now it?s no different.? He screamed out all those sentences as the intensity of the words increased.

?How dare you??

?How dare I live??

She slapped him. Walked over to him, and slapped him. His head slammed the other way.

?Go to Hell, Heero.?

He slapped her back, and she flew against the wall. She cried out, but quickly quieted as she realized what had happened. Her eyes flashed with ?.sorrow at his actions. There was suddenly no trace of anger, just a deep sorrow.

?I never want to see you again. Stay away from me.? She looked up at him with sad, sad, eyes, and tears threatened to spill, but couldn?t until he gave the word.

He narrowed his eyes at her, giving the impression that he felt not a thing. ?Go ahead and cry, Relena.?

She gasped, and looked up into his expressionless eyes. ?Yuy, you?ve broken my heart.?
She turned and left the room. She?d call the manager and have him deliver her bags to the airport when she had to meet her flight, but she wouldn?t stay here with him any longer. She let her tears fall.

Never again.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The clock read midnight. Surely it hadn?t been four hours that he?d been searching for her. Although he felt his plan was the right one, he had to admit that it had gotten terribly out of hand. He had to find her and apologize?.he had to do something, anything? The blame was supposed to be placed on him and the girl?Neither one of them even mentioned it. Well, Relena did a bit, but quickly shifted focus. He had to let his anger get the better of him. He sighed as he ran across the bitter-cold street. Not many ran about around him, but that?s not saying much. Thousands of people crowded the streets in the day; only hundreds at night. He shuffled through some people, searching streets for her form. He was about to give up the search and turn back for the hotel when he saw her.

?Relena? he whispered. Shaking the guilty feeling from his mind, he called out so she would hear him. She turned around quickly, and looked at him. She was wearing a smile. He smiled back at her; this too would pass. They would both apologize. She stared at him from across the street, her eyes a dull hue that could only be described as sleepy joy. He smiled back at her. He tilted his head to the side, and waited for the light to change so he could hold her in his arms and whisper his apologies in her ear. A man behind her caught his eye. Swift as a bird, the man ran, obviously a mugger who was on the run. He was slipping around in the snow and ice, and the mixture of his speed and stupidity caught up to him, and he fell. He pushed his weight onto Relena so as not to fall in the street. She lost her balance with his weight forced upon her, and was forced into the path of a taxi.

She was killed instantly.

End.

Oh my god! That was so sad and so unexpected! I can't believe you did that.

It was really good though.

Wha?? What?!? WHAT!?!?!
Relena DIES!?!
That was amazing! As horrible as it was that she died, it was a perfect ending to the story..Even though it made me want to cry..
Heero and Relena were so cute together! and now she's dead...
This was fantastic! Can't wait to read more of your fics!

MBF are you crazy. You don't do that unless you have no will to write, much like my Ranma/Princess Diaries Fic that I gave up in favour of Gundam Wing Fics.

It was a great story by the way. Please let this not be the end. I would cry if it was cause it was so unsatifiying.

damn! it was all so fast.
argh! in a flash she's gone.
I didn't know that was how her parents died!
Heero slapped her, too! ::cough::-ass-::cough::

That was such a twist.
is it just End. or End?
though it was sad it was realistic.
that could happen, but did it have to happen to her?
::sigh::
but it was still brilliant! bittersweet.
i loved it!

How could you? Such an unexpected ending, didn't see that one coming... but wow, that was one great fic... congratulations!

Now, I'm gonna ask the same question WhiteWindRRose asked... is it The End... or, maybe, The End?

anywho, great work.
