TO LOVE A GUNDAM PILOT
Chapter 1: The Game
Love's the game and boys are toy. Play it, break it, throw it away; lit their heart on fire, fan it, and let the flame increase along with desire… it's only a game, a one-way game… because the player doesn't get play back… or not.
Typical morning, the sunshine above, the birds are singing, and a soft breeze blowing by, carrying flower petals along with it. It was a little cold but the weak sunray is enough to heat up the atmosphere. Relena get into her car and drive to school although she only lives a few small blocks away. Maybe a girl like her shouldn't walk, driving is much better, and besides, what would others say? She is one of the most popular girls in school and pretty much has everything she wants and needs or does she? She has all the love in the world, but what really is love? Is it when someone is there to give her everything she wants or someone always there waiting for her call or maybe someone who share a passionate feeling wither her; but then it's still meaningless somehow, something is missing, something not even herself sure of what it is. Relena parked her car in the parking lot and step out and enter the school's campus. She walked leisurely and gracefully ahead in silence through the noise with her bright smile and her radiant beauty that makes the sun above shines with shame. Her silky blonde hair fluttered along with the soft breeze and those glossy strands glisten and reflect as the sun shine upon. "Hi!" a guy calls out from the crowd
"Hey!" Relena greeted back
" 'S up Relena!"
"Hi!" she waved
"May I carry your books?"
"My class is in section 3 room 4," she answered as she hands him her books
"Thank you," the guy said and walks away. A random girl suddenly approaches her and asked, "Relena, can you sign my year book?"
"Year book? How d'ya get year book at this time of the year?" Relena questioned
"Oh, no, I was trying to ask you last year but there were so many people and…" the girl explained
"Okay, uh, remind me later… I gotta be at somewhere right now"
"Alright, thanks"
A different girl sitting on a bench observing everything in sight then turn to her friend and whispered, "Do guys ever stop looking at her?"
"You mean those brain-locked idiots over there?" her friend responded
The girl sighed and said, "Why does she always get what she wants?! What does she have that I don't?"
"Do you really want me to answer?"
"Oh, shut up"
Without paying attention to whatever that is going around her, she continued walking to her destination and until a voice coming from behind called, "Hey! Relena!"
She turned around and greeted back, "Hi, what's up Haruko?" She stood there, waiting for him as he approaches her. "Hey," she said, "I gotta be somewhere right now so can I catch you later?"
"Sure," he replied
"I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you later"
"It's alright," he said and kissed her, "I meant that to be on your forehead."
Relena giggled and kissed his lips, "I gotta go now, see ya at lunch hon., bye"
She walks to where her friends and her usually hangout and saw they all are already there. "Hi! I kinda overslept so…"
"It's cool" Hilde said
"Alright, so what's up?" Relena asked them
"I am so totally dump Kano yesterday" Catherine started
"Oh really? I thought you liked him," Relena asked
"Are you mad?" (Mad crazy not mad mad)
"My bad," Relena emphasized, "I thought he's the guy who give you whatever you want."
"Yeah, but he's like grounded because his parents won't let he stay out with me no more and he tried to apologize and it's so pathetic!" Catherine laughed and
started, "I mean, the guy actually thought that I like him." They other girls laughed at what they hear with joy.
"So how did ya break it to him?"
"I said that I couldn't see him no more because he wasn't able to spent time with me"
"And what did he say?"
"He was all 'I thought you loved me' and I was like 'So I don't know that the hell is love, sue me'" Catherine told them and continued laughing. The others find it funny and joined her. "Good one" Sally thought out loud
"I know! Isn't it?" she replied
"So how about you Relena?" Dorothy asked
"What?" Relena responded
"You know you have three days left 'til the dead line, you know the 2-weeks limit?" Dorothy reminded her
Hilde turn and whispered to Relena, "Remember: you want to dump a guy before the limit date"
"I know," she whispered back
"What are you two talking about?"
"Nothing" Relena replied with a smile, "it's all cool. We're going to a movie tonight and I'll end it then"
"Well I better get to class" Dorothy smiled, "bye!"
"Sayonara!" They said in unison. Catherine, Dorothy and Relena walk to Math together and Sally and Hilde go to Chemistry.
"Good morning class!" the teacher said, "okay sit down and we begin today's lesson on Derivative and I hope you all have already master limits."
"Oh fun," Dorothy whispered to herself sounding bored. Relena glanced at her and turn around to pay attention. The teacher continued, "Okay, first take the function of x+Dx and substitute it in to the given function such as f(x) = 3x4+5x-6 and then add f(x) all over Dx…"
"I didn't know he can talk for half an hour straight," Catherine snickered, talking to Dorothy
"Is there something funny back there Miss Catherine?" the teacher asked
"No," she answered firmly, pretend nothing is going on
"Alright, I would appreciate it if you're not interrupting for one day"
"Sorry"
"Anyways, so do I have a volunteer to do this problem on the board?" the teacher asked, scanning around looking for a volunteer. Relena raised her hand immediately and said, "Sensei!"
"Miss Relena, you cannot go to the bathroom to fix your make-ups…again," he answered and turns away to pick a student, "you!" he pointed at Heero.
"What was that all about Relena?" Dorothy asked quietly, "You know you can fix hair and make-ups at break in like 10 minutes!"
"I wasn't trying to go to the bathroom dammit!" She answered, "I was trying to participate in today's lesson!"
"Oh that's a shocker," Catherine added, "are you feeling okay?"
"Yeah, I mean we're more like 'please let the class move faster' and 'don't let the teacher pick on me' kinda people," Dorothy said
"Type? I don't have a 'type', anyways, I was aiming for some changes, you know? You see, every time the teacher ask those kinda questions, those guys over there would answer," she said pointing to the right, "you know blondie, brunette, and more brunette?"
"Oh, them" Catherine responded
"Yes!" Relena exclaimed
"Well somebody gotta answer coz it ain't gonna be me," Dorothy laughed quietly
"You two… I give up…" Relena sighed
"Whoa miss revolutionary girl," Dorothy joked
"Whatever" Relena sighed
"Well, I'm glad you at least try," Catherine smiled, "I mean I would be right behind ya if I know the shit in this class." The bell rings and students rush outside to freshen up and talk. "Yay!" Catherine exclaimed, "and Hell is pause for a few minutes!"
The teacher turned to Catherine and said, "By the way, you need to watch your language in class, that's it."
"Sorry sensei" she faked a smile and steps outside behind Relena and Dorothy
"He so totally hated me!" She told the girls. Relena smile and said, "And you think you're the one with problems."
As the break bell ring, they all returned to class and sit in their seat that most of the students referred to as the hellhole. Relena sits down and opens her book to the lesson and found a note for her. She opened it and read the note that said 'Roses are red, Violets are blue; sleep with me if you have nothing to do, signed Toshi". Relena smiled playfully and pull out a pen and replied, 'Roses are red, Violets are blue; no fuckin' shit, it's the last thing I'll do!'
"Can you pass it to him?" She asked a girl next to her
"What was that?" Dorothy asked
"Nothing," Relena answered
When bell rings for lunch, Relena saw Haruko waiting for her in front of class so she hurried and greeted him. Toshi and his friends are talking as they walk out next to her so she overheard their conversation. "Dude! Why were you all mad 'n crap in class?" his friend asked. Toshi handed his friend the note and he reads it to himself. "Damn man!"
"Whatever, you know I'll get her someday!"
"Oh get outta here! And you still want that bitch?"
'Let see if he can, what a loser!' Relena thought. She turned around and said, "By the way, I heard that, loser's friend." She then turn back to Haruko and kissed him. "I love you," he told her and smiled
"I know you do," she replied with a smile, "let's get outta here."
After the last class of the day, Relena meet with her friends before going home like they do everyday. "You guys go ahead and chill, I gotta go to the library"
"The library?" Hilde asked, "You'll caught dead there"
"I have to do some research for my report for history," she said, "Where else would I get information?"
"The internet?" Catherine suggested, "Nobody will actually know you're researching or at sites that are filled with history information and crap."
"Thanks, but I'm gonna need more than Internet sources!"
"Okay, good luck then," Hilde told her as Relena disappear through the crowd, "Good thing I don't take that class!"
"Yeah you always take the easy way," Sally said
"And you shouldn't be talking," Hilde told her
Relena head toward the library and opens the door and enters the silent room. The place was a little empty and quiet. It seems lonely somehow, but again, it's a library, isn't it suppose to be this way? All you could hear there is the silent typing on the keyboards and whispers among the groups, perhaps talking about test or project or whatever these types of people are talking about. Relena walk quietly to the reference section and start looking through books, mostly encyclopedias. "Hey! I never saw you in here before, you don't come in here often?" a voice asked her from behind.
Relena turn around to see who and answered, "No, I have a life"
He looks at her and responded, "And what's that suppose to mean?"
"Never mind, I need to get this over with"
"Maybe I can help; what are you looking for?"
"It's this history report thing and…"
"Oh, you have Yoshida's class?"
"Yeah, you have that class too?"
"Yeah, yesterday," he answered, "So what are you doing your report on?"
"Society," she answered. He browsed the shelf and pulls out a few books and suggested, "You might wanna look through these."
"Thanks Mr. Expert," Relena said with a smile
"It's simple, you see up there," he told her, pointing at the top of the shelf, "It labeled 'Sociology'"
"Oh"
"Have you ever even been in here?" he asked
"Do you really wanna know?" she said with a smile, "Well, thanks…uh… what's your name?"
"Heero, you?"
"Relena"
"Oh, you're in my class!"
"Really?" Relena said, pretending not to know, "Well, I gotta go now, bye!"
"See ya!" He said and looks at his watch and notice that it's 4:05 and he supposed to meet his friends for a project the have been working on at school five minutes ago! "Shit!" he emphasized and run out of the library. He hurried to the computer class and enters the room "Hey guys! Sorry I'm late," Heero said
"We just got here too; gonna start right now," Quatre told him.
"That's cool," he said as he put his jacket on a table, look around and asked, "Where's Duo?"
"Here!" Duo yelled out from the door and her hurried in.
That night Relena was waiting for Haruko to pick her up for the movie. She sits in her dark and gloomy room with a single light, staring at the mirror, trying to look for something, something she has been trying to find and see for so long but she could not. 'Could life be all a game?' she thought, 'then what's gonna happen when game is over? Or have I been living a lie?'… So many unanswered questions she wanted to ask, but asking her mirror self isn't working for it's as clueless as her. She let out a long sigh and look through her life, a life that she once thought was perfect, the life that every girl would want. They thought she has everything, have is all, but no one really knows what it's really like. The truth behind her smiles that often were fake and the perfection of the life she has. It's not all what it may seems, it's complicated, it's jaded, it's lonely, and it's completely meaningless. She has been living at the moment, never think of what's ahead, mostly because people surround her suggest that she shouldn't; it's all about here and now. "Yes, Relena, this is your life," she told her mirror self and steps downstairs as she notice Haruko voice coming from below. "Hi!" she greeted with a smile and leave with him.
When the movie ended, they slowly walk out to the car in the parking lot. "It's only 10, so what do you wanna do now?" Relena asked as they approach the car. Haruko smile without saying a word, opens the car door for her, and entered in the driver's seat. He drives away to an empty, quiet space at the park that was located near her house. It was a little chilly night and the park is empty, foiling the starry sky above. "So why are we here?" Relena asked him
"I thought we could be alone for a while," Haruko answered and move closer to her. In the darkness, he slid his arm around her and pulls her closer to kiss her. Her lips are tender and sweet like fresh peaches. In the cold night, the heat from where the burning lips touches can burn a cold body, maybe not hers but his. Haruko has desired her and waiting for this day, the day he thought he will be complete. His lips are still press tight against hers doesn't want to leave as hands held onto her body, feeling the delicate skin underneath her shirt. She pulled apart to catch a breath as he move down and give butterfly kisses and slowly unbuttoned the shield that blocks him away from her body. Relena lift his head and kissed him and asked, "Can I talk to you?"
"Right now?" he said, almost annoyed, "But we're in the middle of something… what?"
"Look at me," she said
"I am"
"I meant my face…uh, up here!"
"R-right"
"What do you see in me?"
"What do you mean?"
"You said you loved me, right?"
"Uh huh"
"Why?" she asked… there was a moment of silence 'Another brain-locked guy.' she thought. Suddenly, her phone rings and Relena picks it up and reply a few simple words. "Can you take me home now?"
"Right now?" Haruko asked, didn't want to leave yet, "But we-"
"My mom wants me to get home now," she lied
"Alright, keep that thought 'til tomorrow," he smiled and starts the car
Relena open the car door and steps out into the melancholy atmospheres, Haruko kissed her goodnight and drive away, disappears down the dark street. She open the door to the house and glances at the clock on the wall, it was eleven thirty. The house looks lonely and isolated; it was silent, the sounds of nothing, the one sound that she despise. She walks upstairs to her room and pick up the phone. She dials Hilde's number and wait as it rings. "Hello!" Hilde greeted
"This is Relena and what's that noise in the background?"
"TV's on. Can you hold on a minute? Someone's on the other line"
"Sure…"
"Okay, what?" Hilde asked
"It's a little lonely here so I guess I call you"
"Lonely there? Don't you have somewhere to be at? It's only 11:30"
"It's over and how 'bout you? Home and TV definitely said something"
"I just broke up with Tomi on the phone"
"Why?"
"He annoys me"
"How come?"
"Well, you know guys"
"They're all the same? And the fact that all they want is sex?"
"Yeah"
"So what's with you?"
"I guess the same as you. There gotta be someone out there, you know what I mean?"
"Yeah. You know those other girls that said we gotta be the happiest girls on Earth?" Hilde asked, "Do you feel that way?"
"No, I was never happy."
"Really? You always look so bright in school."
"Why are we this way?"
"What way?"
"Misunderstood and with someone most of the time we don't even love"
"Maybe we're just searching blindly. I mean I'm not even sure if 'love' actually exist out there."
"Then why are we going on like this? Even if it doesn't solve loneliness?"
"If not, then can you imagine what would it be like…being lonely with someone beats being by yourself solely."
"Yeah, well, it's late. Bye Hilde"
"Goodnight"
