Work Daze 1/? Rated R for lime, sexual innuendo

Work Daze
By the Black Rose

A Gundam Wing fanfiction.

AN: This is Book 2 in the Heero Gets Laid (by Relena) Series. I'm expecting 4-5 chapters maximum (cross your fingers). This is a just for funsies kind of thing with lime and lemon coming up in future chapters.

FYI: Since it has recently come into some doubt (by reviewers who shall remain nameless) I am a Gundam Wing author. I am ALSO writing some Fruits Basket fanfiction, and dabbling in Full Metal Panic!, etc. fanfiction. I think the best way to put it is I'm majoring in GW Fanfiction (with a 1xR emphasis), and minoring in Fruits Basket (Kyoru) and Full Metal Panic! (Sousuke x Kaname) fanfiction. I do have 2 more Kyo x Tohru fics in the works. I also intend to finish Falter and Dinner and Dessert (FMP!). Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my stories. And with that, I'll leave you to the fic. *hugs* Love, Rose

PS ? I am about 1/2 way through a rough draft of Missing by a Mile ch 22. :)

*************************************************
Chapter 1

Warning: Lime

Heero glanced again at the reflection in the mirror. That stupid mirror that stared out into the hallway and workspace just outside his office door. He tried to will his eyes back to his computer screen, or the contracts on his desk or, well, anything else, but they refused to comply. He was becoming a pervert, plain and simple. And that secretary of his wasn't helping.

Full, red lips nibbled on the top of her pen and Heero felt a cold sweat start to form on the skin of his palms. His jaw slackened when she shifted in her chair again, crossing and uncrossing those long legs as she spoke on the phone and jotted down notes.

Thigh highs. She was wearing thigh highs. He could tell from the slight line on the front of her skirt. Probably with lacey tops; maybe garters, and?

Damn. This was all Maxwell's fault. Heero shook his head and finally dragged his attention back to his files. She had been here, working under him, uh, beneath him?er, for him for the entire summer already and it had not been a problem in the slightest.

It had been great, in fact ? thigh highs aside. She was intelligent, efficient, hard-working? The list went on. And then Duo Maxell had to ruin it.

His lifelong friend entered the office, practically backing his way in. A long braid bobbed behind the man as he nodded and spoke to the girl just beyond Heero's vision.

"Thank you so much, Miss? Miss??"

"Darlian. But please, call me Relena."

"I'm sure my business with Heero will only be a second." Duo turned and Heero got a glimpse of her laughing and rolling her eyes at his friend's oh-so-subtle flirting. He glared at Maxwell.

"Leave her alone."

The visitor grinned and plopped down in the chair opposite Heero's. Duo leaned back and deposited his feet on the desk. "Oh? Why's that? So you can have all the fun dipping your pen in company ink?"

"She's my secretary."

"I know.? He wiggled his eyebrows. ?Tell me she takes dictation in bed."

Heero growled. "I wouldn't know."

"Oh come on! She's sitting right there, Heero, how can you miss those legs and that tight little a--"

"Stop. Right now. This is a law firm, and I have work to do." He shot Maxwell a 'don't cross me' look over the top of the 'Griffin versus Brown' folder. "Does Hilde know you talk like this?"

The smile fell from Duo's lips. "Yeah, she knows." He let out a sigh and made his repentant little boy face. He'd been using that look since second grade. It usually worked - on females. Heero rolled his eyes.

"She also knows I'm not going anywhere as much as I enjoy looking."

"Look somewhere else." He turned the page and went back to skimming the most recent court filing in the folder.

"No way. Your secretary is hot, and I'm not leaving until you at least realize it."

Heero stood up and grabbed a fistful of his friend's jacket. He pulled the other man up out of his seat and ushered him towards the door. "She's pretty, go away."

"Pretty? PRETTY?"

"Maxwell, she's Milliard Peacecraft's step-sister. She needed an internship this summer, so he asked for a favor."

Maxwell broke free of his grasp. "Since when do YOU do Peacecraft any favors?" Cobalt eyes narrowed suspiciously. "This doesn't have anything to do with the partnership committee meeting coming up, does it?"

Heero shrugged. "Since I needed a secretary, anyway, and law students are cheap."

"You're a damn liar." Duo jabbed two fingers into his friend's chest with every word. "Ask her on a date."

Heero scowled and knocked the annoying man's hand away. "I'm her boss. It's completely inappropriate."

"You've been a hard ass, haven't you?"

Heero turned and went back to his seat. "I have work to do." He reopened the folder and tried to look busy.

"Tell ya what." Duo grinned and started towards Heero's desk. He settled back in his chair, feet up, arms crossed behind his head. "I'll take her to lunch and grease the old wheels, find out what she thinks of you, and report back." The braided man's boots fell to the floor and he leaned across his friend's desk. "But if she seems at all interested, you have to ask her out. Deal?"

Heero crossed his arms. "I'm not in high school. If I want to ask her out, I don't need to send my friend to find out if she likes me."

"Sounds like a deal." He leaned back again in his seat.

"Why don't you go bother Chang or Barton?"

"Because they already date on a regular basis." Duo appeared way too comfortable and smug for Heero's liking. "And you'd better be glad I'm not Barton, or she'd already be handcuffed to his headboard and moaning interesting renditions of 'Oh Trowa!'"

Heero shot daggers at his friend. ?This conversation is over.?

"Seriously. You need a woman." Duo was no longer grinning like a Cheshire cat. He sat up from his relaxed pose and opened his mouth to speak again.

Heero cut him off. "Maxwell?"

"No, man, I'm serious. You never smile, you never do anything but work. Of course, now I can understand why? But joking aside, Heero, I mean this. If you don't find something?Someone. You're on your way to an early grave. And I have a good feeling about her." A hint of a genuine smile appeared on his friend's lips.

"Trust me."

"Trust me. Yeah right." All he'd been able to do since then is, well, what he was doing now: staring at her reflection in that stupid mirror Duo installed 'for traffic flow'. That was a laugh. The only traffic Heero willingly had in his office was, well, her. His clients, he met in conference rooms or over the phone. Heero's office was his domain, and no one else went there that didn't absolutely have to.

Knock! Knock!

Well, almost no one. Maxwell's head popped through the crack in the door. He sauntered in and tossed a bundle of papers in front of Heero.

"Okay, so here's the info I dug up."

He sorted through the pages and frowned up at his friend. "Duo, I don't need my secretary's transcripts." Heero shoved the papers back into Duo's hands. "Don't you have work to do?"

"Nothing as important as this." The braided man leaned across his desk. "So, did you talk to her?"

"I've been busy." He attempted to avert his eyes back to something of little interest on his desk. But he caught sight of her in the mirror ? standing beside her chair; her long, silk-covered legs were perfectly shaped in what looked like three inch heels, and seemed to go on forever. He glanced away.

"Argh! You're impossible! Geez, just forget it. Forget I said anything?"

She bent down and Heero's traitorous peripheral vision caught the action and alerted the rest of his body. The office suddenly grew quiet as both men turned their full attention to the mirror. Her rear rounded out the lines of her skirt, revealing just a hint of the lace tops of her?"

"Garters?" Duo guessed.

Heero swallowed hard. "Thigh highs."

"Ah." Cobalt blue eyes danced mischievously. "You've been getting use out of that thing."

He stood up and slammed a large file folder over the reflective surface and glared at his friend. "It's distracting. So are you."

A tap sounded at the door. "Mr. Yuy?"

"Yes, Relena?" Heero fought to keep his eyes level with hers.

"There's a Mr. Barton on line one."

Duo grinned and turned on his heel. ?I suppose I should get going.?

"Take a message," Heero gritted out.

Duo clutched his armful of files and made his way towards the exit. "Please. He meant to say please." He brushed passed the secretary, but seemed to trip. The pages poured out of Duo's hands onto the floor. "Woops." He tried to look chagrined, but Heero didn't buy it for a second.

"Oh, here, allow me." She bent down directly across from Heero's desk to retrieve Duo's stack of papers. Her boss found his eyes glued to the tempting sight. He could imagine easing the silky material up over her hips?.

She righted herself and handed the documents back to Duo.

"Thank you, " he said and tried to swallow a grin.

She smiled and excused herself from the room. Duo's eyes followed her through the doorway. Once she was gone, he turned back to Heero.

"Damn. Barton."

"Mr. Yuy," she whispered as his fingers trailed up underneath her skirt.

"Heero," he said into her ear. His hands traveled to the front of her thigh. She lay her head back on his shoulder, leaving her neck exposed and begging for his touch?

"Earth to Yuy."

"Hn?"

"I said, we have less than two hours before Barton gets here to take your secretary on a weekend getaway to his bed. So, we need a plan."

Heero closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. A flash of her bent over in front of his desk replayed in his mind. Dammit! "Duo."

"I'm serious."

"You're never serious."

Duo raised an eyebrow. "I am now. It's Friday night. Ask her for drinks or to dinner. Hell, ask the girl to marry you. Do something."

"Duo. Get out."

"But Heero, man--"

Heero stood up from his chair. "You know the rules. I tell you once. If you don't leave, I throw you out."

Duo smirked. "I don't think you're up for the challenge."

Heero loosened his tie and pulled off his jacket. He glared sharply across the room at his meddling friend.

"I'm going to enjoy this."

*************************************************

Relena hummed and checked the clock on her computer for the fiftieth time in the last? She sighed. Seven minutes.
It was almost five o'clock on Friday, and time for the weekend.

"Who am I kidding? I don't have anything to do except sit in my apartment, watch tv, and read romance novels." She made a face at her reflection in the monitor.

"Is it too girly to wish that there was still a Prince Charming somewhere in the world?"

CRASH!

Her eyes widened and she turned to stare at the door marked "Heero Yuy, attorney at law".

"What on Earth?" She stood up and took a tentative step towards his office. "Mr. Yuy, is something wrong in there?" A loud series of shattering noises and dull thuds sounded in reply. "Mr. Yuy?"

"Ahem." Someone cleared his throat behind her. Relena paused and pivoted back around. Standing in front of her desk was a handsomely dressed man with dark green eyes and wild auburn hair that hung down into his face. He was gorgeous, tall, and holding a single, long-stemmed red rose.

"Miss Darlian?"

The door burst open behind her and Duo Maxwell shot into the hallway. His shirt was un-tucked on one side, his jacket missing, and several strands of hair had come loose from his braid. He plowed right into Relena.

"Oh!"

She caught him and felt his hands go around her waist. The secretary frowned. He was taking his time disentangling himself from the embrace.

"Mr. Maxwell?"

He rested his cheek against her chest. "Sorry Relena." An errant hand slid down to her rear before he finally stood upright.

She shot him an exasperated look.

"Miss Darlian? Are you all right?"

She turned to see Prince Charming still standing in front of her desk. Heat rushed to her face and she smoothed her rumpled skirt.

"I'm fine. Is there something I can help you with?"

"I brought this for you." He handed her the rose and his lips quirked up into a pleasant half smile. "We spoke on the phone."

"Oh?"

"Excuse the interruption." A stern voice sounded from behind her. Relena was beginning to feel like a yo-yo. She turned to see a slightly rumpled Heero Yuy appear in the doorway. He seemed out of breath, but when he caught sight of Mr. Barton, she could swear that his whole body tensed to the point where she wondered if he were breathing at all.

"Relena, may I see you in my office for a moment?"

"Yes sir." She followed her boss into the other room. Her hands twisted together as she walked inside and Mr. Yuy shut the door behind her. He wouldn't look at her, and she found herself replaying episodes from this afternoon ? trying to figure out why he sounded so serious, so severe, so? She blinked. His jacket was off, his tie removed, and his whole office was a complete shambles. "What happened?"

"Maxwell and I had a disagreement."

"A disagreement or a boxing match? It looks like a herd of elephants stampeded through here."

He glanced up and shot her one of his no-nonsense looks. Her eyes fluttered down to the floor and felt her cheeks warm. "I'm sorry."

"A while back, Miss Darlian, you asked me if I would answer some questions you had on the Goff v Lehman case."

She nodded, and managed to meet his gaze once again. "Yes."

"I believe I said I was too busy at the time."

"Yes sir."

He ran a hand through his thoroughly disheveled head of hair. A bead of sweat trickled down the side of his face. She figured it must be from the incident with Mr. Maxwell. His voice seemed a bit shaky, and he rubbed the back of his neck while his eyes darted between her and the window.

?Mr. Yuy, are you feeling al--??

"If you still have those questions," he cut in. "I'd be?happy to answer them over dinner tonight."

She blinked. Then blinked again. "Oh! Tonight, ummm?"

"Unless you? already have other plans."

"No, of course not. Tonight would be?Tonight would be perfect." She smiled and dark blue eyes found her gaze. They were?endless. Deep. Such a beautiful shade of blue. And they almost seemed to sparkle when they looked at her just then.

She flushed and turned to go back to her desk.

"Don't."

"Huh?"

He searched around the vicinity of his desk and then turned his attention to something on the floor. "We'll go now. Just let me grab my jacket."

"Okay." He approached her. She stood frozen in her tracks. Her heart quickened its pace as he leaned over her, his aftershave swirling around her head and making her feel faint. She closed her eyes and swallowed; her mind imagined falling into his arms?

He drew away; cloth brushed her arm. Relena opened her eyes to see him swing his jacket over his shoulders. He smirked at her and her face burned. She knew she had to be as red as a tomato. He opened the door, and made a gesture for her to go first. When she felt his fingertips brush the small of her back, she bit her lip to keep from grinning.

Prince Charming, he wasn't, but Mr. Yuy, Heero, was real. And the way he blushed when she thanked him for opening the door?.
She smiled and took his arm, letting him lead the way. She had no idea how this started, or where they were going, but she had a feeling tonight really would be perfect.

Lol I love the way Duo thinks. "And you'd better be glad I'm not Barton, or she'd already be handcuffed to his headboard and moaning interesting renditions of 'Oh Trowa!'" - There aren't words for that. It's totally hillarious. Smooth-talkin' Trowa vs. shy and mighty Heero. Relena's a lucky gall.

...Well...YAY!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Yes! Finally!

Your writing is actually inspiring me to watch FMP. So I can read more of your work. :D

You should feel all sorts of special. Your work is truly great.

There is nothing I love more than reading a good 1xR story before I go to bed...Then I have these, like, way amazing dreams.....and then I write! *yay!* So! Rose! This was indeed a great peice of work. I admit I've read "Darkness and Light" a couple hundred times, and in the disclaimer section of your fic, you noted that there would be a sequel with Lena as Hee-chan's secratary...I was frantic trying to find it, thinking you had already posted...AND HERE IT IS!!!!!!!!!! ^_^ Lucky me! This was great! I always love anything with Duo as Heero's comic relief. It makes me happy. I about died when Heero noticed that she was wearing thigh-highs...'Cause we all know that the original character would have NO earthly idead what the heck a thigh-high was...Maybe he'd call them really long socks, or something....^_^ Anywho, I just wanted to tell you, you know, you rock, and keep up all the good work, and....Well, missy, I think that's it. Thanks for entertaining me!!!!!

Definatly awsome! You have to keep going, ( have I said that somewhere before, . . . lol!) this is too good to have to wait for the next part, but I assure you that I'll do my best to be patient, . . . What is patientence? I wanna know now!

Anyhow, I like the shy Relena thing, and having the men practically falling over her without her realizing it. Priceless!

Keep up the good work! *_*

Well I just posted a review of this on FF.net but I'll repeat myself here (and add something new as well):

And just what is wrong with being handcuffed to Mr. Trowa Barton's bed? :-P Hm? I see absolutely nothing wrong with it other than it hasn't happened yet. Oh! I think I have another plot bunny! 8) Boy, do those things multiply quickly or what?

Anyway, I truly can't wait to see what's in store next time 'round. I don't know how you do it Rose. You seem to be in all different places at once getting people after you to finish an excellent piece of work when you go and offer another excellent piece of work. I do not envy you Commander.

Poor, Trowa. Too little too late...but I wouldn't mind being handcuffed to his bed! Hahaha, and I just love the way Heero and Duo interact, and especially how they solve their "disagreements"! :)

But please don't keep us waiting too long! And what's this other story that you mention, Book 1 (if you will). I haven't seen it, and I'm definitely wanting to check it out.
