Ficlet: To Paradise (Wolf's Rain)

To Paradise

AN: My apologies this is so short. Who knew I could even write something short?



There's a voice calling me?.

"Kiba," Cheza bent over the bleeding wolf. The sound of his name, though spoken softly, was enough to lift the veil of unconsciousness that had settled over his injured form. He could sense her nearness, as if her entire being called out for him to wake.

Cheza reached a hand out to touch the angry wound. Kiba groaned and shifted. Sharp pain punched his shoulder then radiated in thick waves throughout the rest of his body.

He heard her again. Much more clearly this time. "I'm sorry?."

The wolf peeled his eyes open. She was staring down at him with such gentleness and concern, it made him smile despite the pain. "Cheza?."

She laid both hands over the injury, and the flesh beneath instantly heated at her touch. The area stung for just a second, but the discomfort quickly ebbed away when the warmth invaded his body. It eased the acute ache of the bullet wound in his shoulder, and the deeper pain as well.

He closed his eyes again, feeling the cold tug of sleep on his mind. Her hands moved and he felt her fingers slipping in and out of the fur on his forehead and back. Kiba let out a long sigh and allowed himself to himself relax into her touch.

There was a song. It soothed him. He could sense the melody, but he couldn't quite hear. Yet somehow?he knew it was there. It vibrated around him and reached inside, touching the voice that urged him on.

To paradise?

Until the melody and the voice became one.

Kiba felt Cheza's breath on his neck. Her arms wrapped around him and she pulled the wolf with her into sleep?

"We'll find paradise."

Thanks so much! I'm really hooked on the anime itself. I think episode 10 comes out in Japan tomorrow, so I'm hoping to see it this week!!!

I just recently got into Wolfs Rain, so it's nice to see some fiction for it already ^_^

Short and sweet. Not complaining, though. I heard that there are 30 eps. Ep. 26 had already aired, and I already watched it (sort-of). Probably the last four would be OVAs or something, since there are some stuff that are still left unsaid. I even downloaded the OP and ED songs. Those were nice.

And the wolves are kewl. Including Blue.
