I'm sorry if this has already been answered somewhere else on the site, but I was wondering why everyone starts a new topic when adding a chapter to a story?

Wouldn't it be easier to just reply to a topic with each new chapter?

Maybe I'm missing something. Sorry to bug.

I hadn't had a chance to reply to my lj entry you left me, but the reason why we do it that way is because.... That's the way I've seen it done, it seems to work, and then you don't have to deal with reply posts attached to chapters.

I am working to try and improve the fic archiving function of the site, and the chaptering thing will all be taken care of. But it won't happen for a few months yet.

I have a little question that goes with this one. Trying to find chapters of stories is miserble! Is there some way of orginizing the stories so they are easier to find?
