"Miss Relena, if his prescence disturbs you, I'm sure Miss Une would reconsider," Pagan began.
"No," Relena cut in, shooting dagger-sharp eyes as the new bodyguard. "I'm just a bit...flustered, thank you, Pagan."
Pagan smiled. "All right. I'll see Master Yuy to his room...as soon as he sees you to yours."
Relena sighed, pressed two fingers to the bridge of her nose. "Thank you."
"It's nothing," he assured her.
She stepped toward the house, but halted in surprise when Heero's hand came to the small of her back.
"Heero--" she started.
"I am to do everything to protect you from any possible attack from the moment you leave your bedroom to the moment you enter it." He handed her a paper. "Read the job description, if you wish."
They walked into the castle and ascended the stairs.
She scanned it with darting blue eyes. "Interesting. I'm surprise they don't tell you to get in the blasted shower with me."
"That's only if you feel it to be necessary."
Relena's head shot up. "You're being serious."
"Naturally. Of course, there are certain circumstances to that part of the contrat. Again, it is optional."
"So, if I told you to share the same bed with me because I'm afraid of a threat, you'd have to?"
It was Heero's turn to look surprised. "...That is optional as well." His eyes darted to the bedroom door behind his charge.
"Good." Opening the door, Relena stepped inside. "Then I forbid you from ever entering this room. Good night, Heero." And she shut the door firmly in his place.
Heero stared at the door.
"I'll not allow you to linger here for long, Master Yuy," said Pagan cheerfully. "I'll show you where your room is."

"Wow, you told him off."
"It was absolutely necessary," Relena replied and heard a snort.
"Yeah right. You're head-over-heels for him, Rel."
Relena grinned and turned around to look at her greeter. "How would you know that, Rosaan?"
The stunning Rosaan Tohai draped her arrow-straight black hair over her shoulder. "Maybe it's the way you seem to regain your normal facial color whenever he leaves." She sighed wistfully. "Not that I blame you. That Yuy is hot."
"Should I tell you not touch my man?" Relena joked.
"Of course not. Damn it, he's a guy, he's not just gonna wait for you to make a move."
"Shouldn't Heero be thinking that about me?"
Rosaan winked. "Come on, you're a ferocious thing deep down. Go wrangle the sexy pilot already. It's been fourteen years." She paused. "I'd say sleep with him, 'cause your both mature adults, but then he could become obsessed and that'd be freaky..." When Relena pushed her shoulder, Rosaan hissed a curse.
"What's the matter?" Darlian asked, immediately concerned.
"Ah, you know. Joint trouble."
"It's not joint when there's blood seeping through your shirt," Relena snapped and headed for the bathroom.
"It's nothing serious," Rosaan insisted when her friend reappeared, dressed in a nightgown with bandages and peroxide in hand. "Ow." She winced as the medicine soaked in the wound.
"Quit whining. If Derekai saw this--"
"Don't worry about it," Rosaan cut in. "Derekai's seen me with worse."
With a "tut," Relena finished wrapping the Japanese woman's arm. "He'll be fighting soon," she told her, patting the hand sporting the pretty ring. "Wufei said he's all right...but, Rosaan--"
"I trust Derekai," Rosaan said. "And until the day I die, I'll never hurt him. Even if those guys kill me themselves, I'll never drip his blood."
Relena nodded. "Good night," she said softly and, while Rosaan moved to sleep on the sofa, sank under the covers of her bed.
Just like Rosaan sank under the cover of the woman who didn't care for anyone.
