Blissful Ignorance

" Ow, Stomach ache. This always happens when I get nervous." Duo says as Reku thinks the same thing.

"Relena, I love you, I always have. I wanted to ask you... Will you marry me." Heero asks as he gets on one knee.

" After all this time. Of course I will Heero Yuy, you're the only man for me."

They embrace while everyone slinks away.

" That was nice, Heero's finally getting what he wanted and so is Relena." Hilde said as she walked with half of her family. "Where's the other two, our son and the girl he loves."

" Leave them alone Hilde, don't interfere any more." Duo said as she pushed her along.

He was waiting for her outside in the same rose patch that they were just in. He was fiddling with his hair and movig dirt under his shoes.

" I have to tell you... I....I..

My computer was hacked into and this story and my comic was copied so if any of you see it on the internet some where tell me so I can kill their ass with my trusty Deathscythe borrowed from Duo ( of course)

"yeah" asked Maoko quizzically (i know that spelt wrong), "what do you wanna say?"

Reku, faltered for a brief second, but then he looked into the serious yet loving green orbs staring back at him. (is that the colour of Maoko's eyes?) In those eyes he saw the hope and love of many years to come, love for him. He was no longer nervous. He no longer was afraid.

Reku slowly walked up to Maoko, then said, "Maoko, i know that we started off on the wrong foot, but for the past few weeks, i've learnt more and more about you; and I....I...I love you, and i want to make sure that you feel the same way and that you'll.........

He grabs her close and gives her a passionate kiss then turns and runs.

"Maeko, what are you doing out here?" Rosaan asks as she and Gallian come out of the building hand in hand, seeing Maeko sitting on the ground and looking into space.

"He left before I can even answer him."

"Who left?"

"Reku that idiot. I'll talk to him when we get back," Gallian says. Maeko turns her head around and attempts a weak smile, her eyes full of pain.

"No. Don't. I don't want him forced into doing it."

"What are you doing Reku?" Heero says as he flies up to Reku's gundam, Relena in his lap.

"What are you talking about?" he asks as he just increases his speed. Heero quickly catches up though and cuts him off.

"We saw the whole thing back there. You just kissed her and then left," Relena says, looking sad as if it just happened to her.

"So?"

"Everyone has a soulmate and I'm pretty sure you met yours. If you let her go and ignore her, it will only be harder the next time and the times after that to ever go back up to her. Trust me. You'll never find another one like her if you turn yellow." Reku watches as the two exchange loving glares and a quick kiss.

" Heero, you don't under stand. I'm not.. I'm not right for her. I'm only supose to be 14. But I'm a freak. I'm older than I should be. All because of the Zero system. Now I'm nineteen. Why do you think I was home schooled." Reku said as he looked down.

" There's no problem with that there's something about us all that's different. If you tell her she'll under stand." Relena said with a understanding look.

" Wait, one thing, it happened to you brother too. right?" Heero said as the two gundams landed.

"Yeah." He looks at everyone waiting for him to come out. "I'm sorry I left Maeko. I have something to tell you."

" Well what is it." Gallian said. " Back off, he has something to tell me."

" Can tell you alone."

The two walk off.

" I wanted to tell you that I'm younger than you. I'm really meant to be fourteen, but I'm not. I aged too fast in the span of minutes"

" That doesn't matter. I don't care how old you are I love you."

" I love you too. And I never want to leave you. Heero told me that every one has a soulmate and i know you're mine. I want to stay with you forever."

" I do too."

The two walk back to the group holding hands.

" Welcome to the family Maeko." Hilde said as they came back.

" Mom!"

" Hilde dont....

"What? It's not like I'm showing her embaressing pictures of you or telling stories. Oh, like the halloween when you wanted to be Rapunzel..." Hilde says as she thinks and starts to chuckle to herself.

"Mom! You didn't have to say that in front of everyone!" Reku complains, covering his face with his hands.

"Reku. In a princess dress. I can just see it now," Gallian says, trying to hide the smile as he thinks of a mini Reku in a pink princess dress.

"Do you have pictures? I would love to see them," Maeko says giggling as well.

"Acutally I do," Hilde says before Duo goes up to her and covers her mouth.

"Hilde, you can't show them to her," Duo says as he tries to keep Hilde's mouth shut and watch Reku's face glowing red.

"Come on. I'm probably going to see them anyways. Please," Maeko pleads, her hands together and puppy eyes towards Reku.

"Alright. But don't spread them around and that means I can see your pictures."

"No can do." She shakes her head no and crosses her arms.

"Why not?" Reku asks disappointed.

"THere was only one thing my grandparents and master agreed on and it was that cameras were machines that took away your soul. So there are no pictures of me, just portraits and none are embarresing."

"Not fair." He frowns, but Maeko throws her arms aroudn his neck and gives him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Well then. Maybe we should get off this topic and think about our big party for winning this thing. I say Sanq Kingdom," Duo says, uncovering Hilde's mouth.

"Let's just hope it's really over," Heero says as he gets looks from everyone around.

Chibi Reli had to add some humor and Reku seemed perfect for the part. Hehe.

Oh go ahead he's a Maxwell. it was bound to happen sooner or later. And I'll try to post that comic somewhere when the story is finished.

" Where are we going to have a big party for all the preventors and us." Quatre said as he counted out all the people that would have to come.

" Relena's old castle." Reku said as his face still looked red from the attempts of his mother to embarass him again. " It's big and there's enough room. Oh yeah and I'm not the only one who wanted to be a girl for Halloween... right Alex ... Dad."

" Hey, I defended you from your mother, at least spare me."

" Alright, I have an idea. If well. wait a minute. not everyone will want to be in a group picture. But I have some things these pictures will go in. So if you'll all get in a group." Lady Une said.

" Oh no the camera's gonna steal my soul." Reku said as both his mother and Maeko smacked him in the back of the head. " Ow, I was only joking."

" This will be the first and only picture of me." Maeko said as they took the shot.

"alright I'll be done with these in a few minutes. but first. Gallian and Rosaan stand over here like a couple."

She snaps a picture of them. " All rigth Reku and Maeko, same for you."

She gets them too. " I'll be back in a few minutes."

A few minutes later....

Lady une hands them all a locket. They open it up to find the group picture inside. " So you will all remember each other. Only you four have two different pictures."

Gallian and Rosaan open theirs to reveal a small picture of them standing together happy. " This is what you did?"

Maeko and Reku open their's as well.

" You four fought two battles the ones with the enemy and the ones within your own hearts. Sometimes you wanted to kill each other." she smiled at Gallian and Rosaan. " And other times you comforted each other. " She also smiled as Maeko and Reku. " But you fought and won your battle so now you'll be just fine....

My mom was watching some mushy love story so I had to finish fast before she took over the front room

Reku grinned goofily and patted Gallian on the back. "I can't call you by your real name, friend. You'll always be Gallian to us."

"Same here!" the rest of the pilots called.

"You're Rosaan's Derekai," Naora added with a grin. "So we won't swipe the mush."

"Very funny." He chuckled into his glass of sparkling cider.

"Gallian?!" Ivan said in frustration. "Where'd she go this time?"

"And where's Relena?" Zechs asked.

Heero and Gallian looked at each other, nodded in unison, and set off.

Relena was in her room, throwing some kind of object of in the air and catching it again. On her finger sparkled a diamond.

"Relena?" Heero asked, stepping inside the expansive bedroom.

She looked up and caught the object a final time. "Hello, darling."

She was extremely cheerful, and very dazed.

"It's funny, isn't it?" she asked with a smile. "That a man who swore to kill me is marrying me?"

Heero felt his lips curve. "Perhaps. I found it...intriguing."

"Romantic, you mean, but you wouldn't dare use the word." Relena rolled her eyes as he sat on the bed next to her. "So was this," she murmured, looking down at the teddy bear in her hands. "Sweet...'intriguing'..."

Heero snorted. "What about Gallian and Rosaan? Those two figured out what the want, but they haven't done anything about it yet."

"You're the expert," Relena scoffed. She smiled and set her head on his shoulder. "Don't think of it, darling. They'll work it out."

Gallian went deperate. There were so many places a twenty-year-old woman could hide in a building like this. Floors, corridors, closets, and hundreds of rooms would sheild her from the world. She had stayed here for a while, even.

He was so worried that he almost missed her figure standing out on a balcony before the fiery sunset.

"Rosaan..." He studied her back; was she all right?

"Maeko and Reku are together," she muttered.

He smiled. "It was about time." He went to her side.

"Derekai..." She turned to him, and set a hand over his on the balcony rail. "Will they get married?"

"In a few years," he guessed. "I'd love to see Maeko in a fancy gown. Providing she doesn't trip over her skirt." His voice softened. "I hope to see you in one someday soon."

She looked away. "Relena will be a beautiful bride."

"And Heero a handsome groom...with bad hair. Rosaan," he said, "tell me why you're sad. I'm back with you now." He reached for her. "Forever."

She rested her head on his chest, doubt bristling through her. "But are you you?"

He frowned.

"Will you be the same Derekai who loved me so many months ago?" Rosaan wondered. "Will you be the same man I loved? After death, and the destruction of those we cared about? I know my imprisonment changed me, Derekai. Did your battles change you?"

Derekai hesitated. "I will never be whom I once was," he admitted, cupping her chin in his hand. "Nor do I believe I will live my life without nightmares, or plagues of those who are gone. I am like Heero; blood stains my hands, ghosts haunt my dreams..." He relaxed. "But love chases the blood and ghosts away. Love entrances me. Love saves me." He pressed his lips to hers and said against them, "You saved me."

"You saved yourself."

He paused. Perhaps that was true, but she kept him living, wanting to live.

"I love you," she said. "I love you, and always will. I'd hoped..."

He had as well. Gently, he lifted her hand and took the garnet ring from her right ring finger. He felt the tension boil through her; she thought she was being rejected. Instead, he placed the ring on her left ring finger.

"Marry me, Rosaan," he said softly. "We'll go back to Dublin, or go somewhere quiet, and we will live together."

Rosaan blinked, tears shining in her eyes. "We're young."

"And strong. And if I don't have you, we'll both die." He grinned. "You know this."

She collapsed on him, hugging him with all her might. It was not passion, though it ran, but this was pure, unquestioned affection. Love.

"Oh! Do you believe this?" a voice shouted. Turning, the couple saw it was Ivan and Naora. Ivan, who'd call out, grinned. "Another marriage! In two days! Oh, the glory!"

Naora bounded over and kissed both of them. "I'm happy for you guys! Yo!" she called into the hall. "These two are gettin' hitched!"

"No WAY," came Reku's voice and he and Maeko slid onto the balcony. "You too! Hell, I'll be in a tux in a week at this rate."

"Give or take a year," Maeko muttered in embarrassment.

"Lookit, lookit, they're KISSING," exclaimed Alex in mock disgust.

Rosaan and Gallian paid him no heed.

"Well, they ARE engaged," pointed out Maeko.

"That's not who I mean!" Alex shook his head. He pointed.

Strangely, Ivan and Naora was sitting on the balcony rail, sweetly embracing in a small kiss.

"Whoa..." Reku murmured. "That was out of the blue!"

Alex poked his brother in the ribs. "Happy...uh... Happy Friday, guys!"

All of the gundam pilots laughed, letting out tension from war and love.

...Except for Naora and Ivan, of course, who weren't paying attention to anything but each other.
