Inuyasha Manga From chapter 476 to END

Well its definatly getting exciting. And am I the only one who thinks Inuyasha has an unknowing hero complex? He's gotta save everyone, even when he can't save himself. Oh well, its the thought that counts, right?

Thanks for the update LGM, I think Takahashi likes drawing this story out, I mean, she is profiting off of it ^^ Unfortuantly for us, the poor fans who wouldn't mind a conclusion one of these days.

Chapter 484: "Youdoku"

Last we left our heroes they were about to be chomped by a big bone youkai-just for the sake of Hiraikotsu. Miroku decides to open up his Kazanna to get them out of the ball of bones.

Miroku ends up sucking half the old bone youkai's face right off and gets them out-but of course he ends up sucking in more shouki too and re-poisons himself!

Sango drags him away and the bone woman comes in-claiming it's useless, even that won't affect her father. She then manipulates the bone youkai so that the bones from the cage lift up and begin to rebuild the half missing face of him. Once he's restored he claims that it was a useless attempt as well and Sango looks back at Miroku.

She attempts to bargain with the pair of bone youkai. In exchange for her and her Hiraikotsu they let the houshi live.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the mansion: A certain kitsune throws his top to disperse the collective bones burrying him and his friends. Kagome pops up like a daisy and Shippou asks if she's okay. Inuyasha's hand then belts him on the head-and they exclaim his name. Next frame shows him still human and both miko and kit have disgruntled look on their faces because the hanyou's still human complete with Shippou's top still spinning on his head.

Back at the ranch: The bone woman scoffs and laughs at Sango's attempt to save Miroku and claims that she's stupid. They will both die and her father will get the Hiraikotsu no matter what anyway. Having heard this-Sango makes a last resort decision. She pulls the tiny shell holder from inside her elbow armor and puts the stuff within it (called youdoku) on Hiraikotsu. She intends to melt the bone youkai along with her Hiraikotsu-to her-it's the only way. She hurls it-he catches it-and it works. Both bones begin to melt away. The bone woman gasps and yells "Curse you!" And begins to start to do something with the eroding skull.

Sango moves to move the houshi as the bone woman exclaims that she'll dissolve her too for this, and viola -who comes in to steal the show-but none other than our hanyou Inuyasha! (because apparently Sango can't finish them both off on her own.) He uses the Kongousouha and blows the last of the dissolving skull into oblivion, and rips a hole in the wall-allowing sunlight to stream in-and spilling across the bone woman. She gasps-and begins to melt away as well. (sunlight don agree with her, I guess.) After this Miroku begins to stir.

Inuyasha spins and asks them if they're okay-Shippou and Kagome bust in with the same questions. Sango explains the houshi has been poisoned-yet again-and laments the loss of the Hiraikostu.

SOOO, basically-the entire point to this arch was: MELT THE HIRAIKOTSU! Wee. It didn't have any real link to defeating Naraku. Instead-it gives the Inu-gumi yet another handicap! Next week: Takahashi claims a New Development...But will it have anything to do with the end?! Stay tuned to find out!

It's that time again! The next installment has been recieved and so the next summery is on the fly! Who knew that fixing things would be such a up and coming bitch?

Chapter 485: "Yakurou Dokusen"

Toutousai has been called from his volcano mountain for the obvious reasons. Though not to him. The poison eaten Hiraikotsu is shoved before him and Inuyasha orders him to fix it. One look at it and he says he can't. Inuyasha gets into a huff at him. Sango tells the hanyou to stop-she was well prepared for this when she poisoned it.

Inuyasha figures-they gotta find her a new weapon in that case. Toutousai says not to be stupid, Sango has been fighting with this forever and a day, she just can't pitch it and get a new one. Inuyasha tells him to shut up, he can't fix it anyway. To which Toutousai replies. "I can't."

Inuyasha catches on, and Kagome expresses his thought by inquiring if there's someone who can. Myouga pops up here-for the first time in *many* books-and claims that he can show them the way.

Along the way he explains that the person who can fix the Hiraikotsu's poison problem is called: Yakurou Dokusen. (dun-dun-dun!) They make thier way to a waterfall-where the youkai in the group smell-lots of sake. They all look down into the lake bed and find-lots of jars of sake! Myouga instructs Inuyasha to grab the nearest jar and dump it. He does and out falls an old looking youkai with the sake. He appears to be trashed.

Little later the story's been told and Yakurou says he'll look at the bone. Inuyasha shows him and he-licks it...Instantly he recognizes the virulant youdoku that Sango used and says even if he could fix it, he wouldn't. Everyone's surprised, Sango looks solomn. He says that it looked as if it had seen a lot of use. It'd been taken to every battle, and then poisoned like that. Treating weapons like that made him sick. Inuyasha yells at him, and he seems to prove the point by barfing and scaring the crap out of the hanyou. He then claims that he feels yucky and hung over and tries to leave.

Sango tells Inuyasha to stop and the hanyou asks if she's giving up. Upon seeing her, Yakudou says he'll fix it-and apparently seems quite taken with her-and claims she's just his type. Inuyasha gets mad and asks why the hell he suddenly changed his mind-to which he claims: "I thought it was <i>your</i> weapon!"

Kagome exclaims that it's good he has a weakspot for women, and Miroku agrees with a content face. Yakudou asks Sango to let him see her hands-and then proceeds to check her *ALL* over, which gives him a kick in the face from Sango and an angry threat from the houshi. He says he can fix it, but she must do the battle. This confuses everyone.

His arms stretch out and he grabs two of his jars-dragging them over, and asks for the Hiraikotsu. He sticks it in one jar-and-it starts to erode more. This freaks the Inu-gumi out and Yakudou explains that Sango must leap into the other pot and defeat the youkai within it to turn the poison into a "medicine" and heal her bone. If she doesn't do it in time-the bone will be gone. (Which makes NO sense...but whatever man! Fantasy is fantasy.) Sango agrees to the task and heads into the pot. Oddly enough-she finds she can breathe-and swims till she comes across- a whole lot of youkai! She has to defeat all these?

Well-the end of another chapter-and no where closer to an ending...But the Hiraikotsu is on it's way back to the playing field. Big surprise! Will Sango be able to defeat the youkai in the sake jar? (well-of course she will) Will she do it herself, or call for help? We'll find out what happens next week! See you then!

Okay, a day off schedule, but I got interupted...Anyway-the newest IY manga installment for this week!

Chapter 486: "Inside the Jar"

Hokai! SO. Hiraikotsu is busy melting in a poisoned sake jar, and Sango is in an adjacent one trying to quell the youkai within it. She sets out immediately to cut them down with her katana. Of course-it doesn't work! And she wonders what else she can do.

Meantime; outside world: Inuyasha, Kagome and Miroku stare into the jar and wonder if Sango is okay. Yakudou complains that he's bored and wants someone to drink with. Inuyasha mooshes his face in with his foot telling him to stuff it. Yakudou retaliates by flipping the hanyou upside down into a vat of sake-at first making the hanyou royally pissed off.

Shippou then finds Myouga swimming in sake. Myouga claims he's not drunk-he's watching Sango. Shippou's all surprised and drinks some against Kagome's warning to see Sango too-and immediately becomes drunk. Inuyasha agrees that he can see Sango and Kagome gives him a flat eyed look and asks if he's sure he's not hallucinating. Miroku disagrees with Kagome and says that it's probably true, this is magic sake after all. He asks Inuyasha, still in the sake jar, how Sango is faring. Scruff tells him and Kagome gives another flat look and tells the hanyou to get out now.

Back in the lovely vat Sango figures out that the youkai are angry with her, not intending to kill her. On the ouside staring in again, we have Miroku. He asks how long till Hiraikotsu is completely desolved and gets the answer it's probably too late. Miroku goes to the jar Sango's in but is stopped by Yakudou saying that he will not be able to help Sango because he won't be able to get to where she is. Meanwhile Inuyasha has come out of the sake jar and is busy denying to Kagome that he's drunk-yet why are there two of her? Yakudou reaches back and throws the hanyou into Sango's jar and proves his point as Scruff just pops out in another one.

Yakudou notices something about the houshi, and licks him. Miroku, disgusted, slams his shakajou on his head and makes him explain that he knows the houshi is poisoned too. SO-while Kagome drags the even more floored Inuyasha from the second-(or is it third?) vat of sake (He's still claiming "I ain't drunk! Why are there three of you now?") Miroku drags Yakudou off. Yakudou senses that for whatever reason the monk doesn't want the others to know about this and Miroku shows him his arm, explaining that everytime he sucks up shouki it worsens. Flash back to Pre-Extinct-Kikyou and her words: "When those wounds reach your heart, your life will be..." Miroku reminices about how bad they actually are and how Sango had had to save him because of them, till Yakudou asks if he wants a medicine. The monk is understandably surprised, and asks if there is such a thing.

Sango, meantime, is being questioned by the odd youkai in the jar. "Why did you poison us?" And slowly comes to realize-that these youkai are the souls of the youkai that were the bones within the Hiraikotsu's make-up.

Yakudou tells Miroku this too, and Miroku figures out if she slays them-that would be bad. But Yakudou tells him that he didn't tell her to kill them, only subdue them. He then produces a sake jar and pours a dish out to set in front of Miroku. He says to him: "This is medicine, however, it is also a very potent poison, knowing this would you still take it?"

Final panel has Miroku looking serious, surprised, yet contemplative as he silently questions "Poison?!"

SOO that ends this week's run. Kinda a cute and dumb one, mixed with a bit of seriousness. All the same though, no steps closer to the end of the series. Progress has only been turned into Guess Work. But we'll see next week how that potential guess work may pan out. So, till next time!

After an extended wait-most likely due to the Christmas holiday- I finally have the next IY installment...And there are problems!

Chapter 487: "How to Live"

Sango is still facing off with the mottled souls that made up the Hiraikotsu and they again ask why she poisoned them. We flash-back to a time when Sango was a little girl and just recieving the bone boomarang from her father. The souls recount how they have been by her side fighting with her as a purified union for so long, how could she betray them for a human man?

Said human man is still being faced with the choice of drinking Yakurou's poison/medicine. He tells Miroku that it will eliminate all the pain he gets from using his kazanna and/or sucking in shouki-however it will not stop the poison spreading or the further opening of said Kazanna. Miroku says he'll drink it.

Inuyasha-still kind of drunk-wakes from his 'hang-overed' nap smelling the air-and leaves Kagome to tend to a still hung-over Shippou and comes to sniff at the soup Yakurou has put before Miroku-and exclaims that it's poison-and berates Yakurou for giving it to him.

Miroku tells Inuyasha to stop-and starts to explain why he's agreeing to this-but Inuyasha cuts in-saying he knows. The smell alone was enough to tell him that Miroku is severely shouki poisoned...And if he does this-what will happen to Sango?

Sango meantime is being asked why she isn't fighting back. She says she can't fight back, she wants Hiraikotsu to join her side again. The souls consider this by saying that they will if she promises never to betray them like that again. Sango laments and then claims she can't make the promise. Upon being questioned why she responds "Because if that man dies, I won't be able to live."

Back to "that man," he explains to Inuyasha that he doesn't want Sango to protect him-to throw her life away for him. He wants to protect her and he can't do that if he's always in pain and failing. Scruff argues that this will send him to an early grave-he'll overdo it and that'll be the end of him. Miroku retorts that it's a choice. He's not rushing to his death, but rather choosing how he'd wish to live. And he wants to live to protect Sango.

Inuyasha has lost this, and fails to reply. Miroku then makes the hanyou promise to not tell the girls what he knows about the houshi's poisoned body, and in return the hanyou makes the houshi swear not to open the kazanna pointlessly and throw his life away. Even if Sango forgives him for that, he won't.

Miroku readily agrees and drinks down the soup.

And meantime Hiraikotsu's souls decline to return to her, claiming that if she would throw her life away for a man, then they will sever their ties with her.

And we're left with the last frame Sango looking horrified/frightened/unhappy and thinking the weapon's name.

SOO that's the end of that chapter. Still no closer to the defeat of Naraku, but a definite development for the relationship between our houshi and taijiya...Now...if Takahashi would do that with Inu and Kags and then end the story, I think it'd be all good. But anyway, till next time!
