This is the last one I have for now....After this it'll be another wait for the rest. Paitence is a virtue people, and I thank you for being very paitent with me.

Chapter 553: "Incedent at the Well"

So. A meidou. Behind Kagome. Not surprisingly, it starts to suck her in. Scruff yells her name and leaps for her. Name game ensues. He misses. The gate closes. Scruff wonders wtf is going on. Shippou explains that he saw what Byakuya did.

Inu stands there-wondering where she went...And Kaede notices the well has vanished! Inuyasha looks distraught. He thinks to himself-that if Narki wanted to get rid of Kags-he coulda had Byaku do it. Meanwhile Ship-dip wonders if Kags is in the modern era.

SO-we switch to the modern era...where Kags' friends have come to see if she's still feeling bad. An earthquake like phenomena happens and the well in this era vanishes too! Everyone wonders where Kagome has gone.

Back to the Sengoku, Inu wonders what Narki wished for-and Miroku confirms that Naraku is gone-because his kazanna is gone...But he realizes the tama is missing as well. Inuyasha now thinks he maybe sees a connection-and takes out the Tetsusaiga-begging it to take him to where Kags is-and lets out another Meidou-and promptly dives feet first into it.

Everyone is shocked and non-plussed by this rash act-but he figures-if the tama still exists-it won't leave Kags alone...

And we come to see a confused looking Kags...In a High School uniform?

SOO-this has gotten interesting! I think it'll be like Tsubaki's little dream thing in the anime, but this time in the manga and with the whole tama at fault. But I guess we'll have to wait and see. We're soo close to the end now-who else can taste it? Till later!

Merely inches away from the conclusion of this Long Sought for tale end of this epic adventure-we soldier on.

Chapter 554: "High School Life"

So, Kags is now wandering around in a normalish life at High school...But, she knows right off that something doesn't seem right...Though it takes her a talk with her "friends" at WacDnalds, an evening of pretty much the same kind of thing that happened in the first chapter with Jii-chan and his gifts, seeing the archery club at school-and then coming home to realize...Hey..Where the fuck is the well-house? to begin to figure it all out.

It runs much like the filler Tsubaki (dark miko) episodes from the anime...Going as far as to have Houjou (ugh) send her a text message and ask her to go to the movies with him. Though she FINALLY figures it out after she's confronted again by her three-person-triplet-posse about whether or not she was dating Houjou-and is asked if there's another guy. She comes home and the Goshinboku is missing the scar from Inuyasha being pinned to it...

Water breaks the dam and she remembers....And ZOOOM...She's sucked back to where she actually is...In the darkness-swallowed by the shikon no tama. It tells her the well is sealed. She can't go back any more.

Well, well...I dunno if Takahashi watched the anime-but she certainly seemed to have ripped this chapter off of it! Anyway-to see what Inuyasha does-we

Chapyer 555: "Darkness"

Inuyasha searches the Meidou for his lost miko, knowing she's in there somewhere. Inuyasha hears the voices of Kagome's mother, Jii-chan and her triplet-Posse-and cries out asking if she went home.

They all hear him--and ask if she's okay, telling him that the well has vanished. Though he doesn't actually know himself-he tells them she's fine, and to hang tight. He'll get her back...And he bounds off back into the dark again.

Meanwhile-Kags is confronted with the tama...It tells her the whole thing she just went through was an illusion. (well DUH...doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure THAT out.) and asks her if she wants to return there. If so--make a wish. It tells her if she doesn't wish, she'll be here forever. Alone.

But-there's our gallent red hero racing through the darkness-hunting for his green maiden-until he's confronted with youkai. Not even thinking he Kaze no Kizu's them-and forges on. Or tries. The youkai reassemble and tell him that the miko will stay here. He guesses they mean Kags, and tell him they can feel her breaking...falling into the darkness.

Proof of that shows as we bounce back to said miko-and she cries out for her comrads and family...and the tama tells her there's no one there...no one's coming. And tears begin to well.

Back to the hanyou-the youkai inform him that she'll become afraid-and wish..that they are inside the shikon no tama-and her selfishness to return to people will bring her to take over Midoriko's place in the battle for eternity within the tama. Inuyasha insists he WILL not let the tama take Kagome...

As the girl curls in the blackness and cries-trying to think.

Well, I guess Midoriko-who has been fighting for so long-has finally run out of steam! And the tama needs a new strong miko's soul to battle to keep the tama in existance...how twisted is that? NEXT...

Chapter 556: "Fate"

Ship-dip, Miroku and Sango are at the site the well was in...and all wonder what became of thier young miko friend from the future....

Inside the tama-Kags is curled in tears still...The tama speaks again, telling her she doesn't belong in the Sengoku. Wish to go home. She actually considers it...

Meantime-Inuyasha is ripping through the regenerating youkai and screams out for Kags...He sees a light-and the form of Midoriko slashes through. The youkai tell him that she's fought with them for hundreds of years-Kags is going to take her place.

A web appears suddenly in front of Scruff-and looking up there's Naraku's HEAD as if on a pig-pole...Scruff's taken aback-and asks if he's alive. The youkai tell him he's not, but he'll revive when Kags wishes. It's her fate. She was meant to take over for Midoriko ever since she crossed the well. That was what she was born for.

Inuyasha THUROUGHLY disagrees...And makes it known as he slashes the fuck out of them more...And reminices on all the things this miko taught him. How to smile, trust, reliance, fear, kindness, true strength. It's becuase of her that he has friends...He concludes that she was born to meet him.

Back in black, the tama prods Kags again to wish...She reminices too...Recalling what Kiks had wished for, and that Narki had probably asked for even less...She figures that the tama doesn't actually grant your real wish...and recalls what Jii-chan told her-that if you make the right wish-the tama will disappear.

Now, she knows what it is...But is afraid to wish it-because she doesn't know what'll happen to her when she does....till she hears Inuyasha's voice...faintly...in the distance of the darkness...and calls back.

SOO-anyone on the edge of their seats yet?! Next one is the wish! Keep reading.

It's all come down to this...The choice between being lost-and being found.

Chapter 557: "I Want To Be With You"

In the dark, pitch black center of the tama-Kags can hear Scruffy...He calls to her-and tells her to not wish for anything...Wait till he's there next to her. She announces she can-and the youkai rebuke him...Telling him there's no point. The only way she can be with him is if she wishes. They try to drive him back saying now she has a futile hope-and she will wish to be with him...He calls out again-but they tell him she can't hear him any more.

The miko hangs in the balance...recalling that Inu has always come for her...she's no longer afraid...as Scruff hunts for a way to get to her...The tama tries again-asking if she wants to be with him. But she doesn't respond...Scruff reinsists that she not wish for anything-even though she can't hear him...but she tells the tama-"fuck you, I ain't wishin for nuttin." which-obviously pisses the ball off to some degree. She says that Scruff will come, 'cause she believes.

Scruff meanwhile-is back at the web-and staring through it. Guess it works as an invisable wall of some sort-because he sees a flash of light and Tetsusaiga goes Meidou colored-and pulsates...So-just like Scruff-he figures-"Hey! Mr. Blade says I should cut along this dotted line!" So he does....and ends up in a really spacey looking spot-till magically-POOF. There's Kags!

They stare-and share a minute name game-and Kags realizes he's the real deal man! And they embrace...she says she wanted to be with him.

The couple turn to the tama-and Kags announces she's making her wish now. She goes back over that the right wish'll make the tama go away, and how if Inuyasha hadn't come she wouldn't have realized the right wish-and now that he's here-she isn't afraid any more-yada, yada...stupid suspense...

She calls out-The simplest wish..."Shikon no tama-Disappear! Forever!" and it shatters into nonexistance....The two hold each other in a blanket of sparkly light-and murmuer..."It's over...."

WELL Folks...Next Week: THE FINAL CHAPTER. I can't believe it. I thought the day would never come! So stay tuned-and find out how this all breaks down in the last chapter of the epic Inuyasha Fairytale!!!!

... for keeping us so up to date on the manga! I always appreciate reading your hilarious synopses. But i have to wonder, how in the world will Takahashi effectively wrap up such an epic tale in one more chapter? I hope she doesn't leave *too* much hanging!!! I'm very excited!

And that my friends...Is All She Wrote. Literally. The series is DONE at long last. It's been a loong twelve years, but it's been an entertaining bunch. Hooray for Kags and Scruffy tying the knot! =D

On another note, I want to thank everyone who stayed with me through this synopsis period. I know a lot of the time I was never on time, and there would be a 4 week gap before I posted again, but I did hold true to my oath-and have brought all of you to the very end of the manga from whence I started this. It's been FANTASTIC two years writing out these things for you guys! I hope you had as much fun reading them! Thank you again, and I'll see ya round the boards! =D

*wipes away tear* That was so beautiful! Although I really would have loved to see a Inu/Kags kiss. LOVED MIr/San's little ones! The twins look just like Miroku! Waah! So kawaii! And the ending was so great. *sigh*. Now let's hope they pick up production again!!
