"What do you think she's doing?" Porthole whispered.

"I don't know, but maybe if we move a little closer to her we could get a closer look at that laptop she's got." Gallian replied.

As they inched closer to where Chloe sat on the bed, her head suddenly shot up. Narrowing her eyes she closed the laptop without switching it off, and walked towards the door. Opening it she peered outside, but on finding nothing there she closed it and breathed in.

Then something started to bleeb.

Holding her wrist to her mouth, Chloe spoke, "What is it? Can't you tell that I'm busy?!"

A muffled voice echoed around the room. However as it was difficult to hear, anyone outside wouldn't be able to tell what it was. However, the two other occupants in the room could. And they listened.

"Gelfis wants a report. Now!"

"I've told you all the recent happenings. Everyone believed my little story, and let me in as one of themselves. Right now I'm trying to find out the best way to obliterate this base and still get out of here alive."

"Well hurry up about it, because Gelfis is getting quite a bit impatient. And I have to bear the brunt of it all."

"Oh, and one more thing before you go. One of the new Gundam Pilots-Porthole's his name- well he has telepathic powers. This might be useful for whatever plans Gelfis has up his sleeves."

"Good work, when you destroy the base, keep him alive. And then bring him here."

The watch strapped to Chloe's wrist bleeped once more then went silent.

Some time later, when Chloe had finally gone to sleep, the two novice Gundam Pilots sneaked out of the room. Once outside, a safe distance away from the enemie's room they stopped.

"They'll never believe us."

"We'll have to come back. Maybe with Duo or Wufei tomorrow night."

"You're forgetting one thing Gallian."

"What's that."

"Chloe is Wufei's sister in-law. And you heard what he said. He respects family. He of all people, will be the last to believe this crap."

"Then we'll just have to find a way to persuade him. Before it's too late."

The two boys knocked at the door hoping someone would answer.

" Don't you think, it's a little too late to bring that back, can't this wait until morning." Duo said shaking his head.

" No, it can't wait, Chloe is an enemy, she's gonna try to destroy the base, but they want me alive." Porthole said while trying to catch his breath.

" And we know Wufei won't believe us. Gelfis is planning something." Gallian said.

" Alright, let's talk in the hall. Hilde's not one to be nice if woken up for no reason." Duo said pushing the boys into the hall. " give me the watch."

They hand him the watch and it repeats everything that was said since they turned it on.

" Another wonderful feature is record function, this is how I bust him from sneaking into the fridge. We'll just play this back in front of everyone, so Wufei can't disagree with it." Duo said turning around and going back into his room. " Tomorrow boys, tomorrow."

And they walked back to their room.

" I'm doomed." Porthole said as he walked into his room.

" We all are." Gallian said as he walked into his room.

" This better work or we're gonna have to fight....

"He looks like a little kid when he sleeps," Maeko whispers as she holds Reku's hand in hers.

"Maeko, why don't you go to bed?" She turns around to see Sally enter. "I'll watch him for now."

"I'm fine," she says, looking back at the boy.

"You should really sleep. You never know when the enemy may attack." She puts a hand on Maeko's shoulder.

"Alright, but is there somewhere I can make a phone call first?" she asks, standing up.

"Sure. Make a right and follow it all the way. There should be a phone somewhere."

"Thanks." After taking a last look, Maeko leaves, Sally watching her movements.

"They're almost as bad as Heero and Relena were."

"Heero, why were these people chosen as pilots? Why did they choose to be gundam pilots?" Relena asks as the group sit on the shuttle to Preventer's HQ.

"They were chosen because they are all experts in different fields and are capable of fighting. Right now, they may the best chance we have to win this war.

"Hello?" An old man answers the phone, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"Grandpa, it's me," Maeko says, trying to sound cheerful.

"Maeko. My how you've grown. What have you been doing?" He smiles,but some other emotion shows in his eyes.

"Traveling and becoming a gundam pilot," she says, the last part softly.

"A gundam pilot?" he questions, looking worried.

"Yeah. I was recruited and they need me. They're all really nice," she replies, trying to make sure that her grandfather wouldn't start to worry.

"It's good to see that things are going alright for you," he answers, his eyes becoming cloudy as if he's about to cry.

"Grandpa, what's wrong? You look different," Maeko asks, becoming worried at her grandfather's appearance.

"It's nothing dear." From behind, an older woman comes up beginning to cry and stares at the screen.

"Maeko?" she asks, drying her eyes.

"Grandma, what's wrong?" she asks, starting to plead with them.

"I just wished we could have talked under better circumstances honey," she answers, tears starting to fall again.

"I'm afraid we have some bad news Maeko. Master Seiji has been ill lately and well...he just passed away."


And the tension builds...

" Relena, why are they fighting again." Mariemeia asked while Heero stared out into space.

" Peace can't always last , that's something I have learned. It's been quite a while since anyone fought, but now I guess it's time to fight again." Relena said with a sad look on her face.

" Heero, do you think these new pilots can gain our peace back."

" Of course, they are very different from us and they know more, but they don't understand the trouble they are getting themselves into. They are after all still just children."

" But you were still children too when you fought."

" That's because we had no life, like we do now. We are more in tune to our true selfs now." Heero said turning to Mariemeia with Relena's same look on his face.

" I hope they can protect us."

Gallian had ben trying to go to sleep, but as he normallyy would have been able to he couldn't. He couldn't stop thinking about what Chloe was doing, hoping that at any moment some one would catch her.

" Damn Wufei...

sorry about this but does any one know what happened to Vulkanis ( the resource satellite from Endless waltz because I can't remember and we could use it's mobile dolls in the story?

"Good morning everyone. It's nice to see you're all up," Quatre says as he walks into the meeting room, seeing everyone minus Reku, Maeko, and Chloe.

"How can you be so cheerful at 6 in the morning Quatre?" DUo asks, rubbing his eyes and yawning.

"How's Reku doing?" Trowa asks Duo.

"He's doing fine. He'll be back in action in no time."

"How's Chole doing Wufei?" Naora asks.

"She was still asleep when I saw her this morning."

"Has anyone seen Maeko?" Quatre asks.

"Last I saw, she was in sick bay with Reku. She might still be there," Hilde answers, a smile apperaing on her face.

"Duo, I think there is something you should tell everyone," Gallian says, turning his head in Duo's direction.

"Huh?"

"Remember? Last night?" Porthole begins, becoming annoyed.

"Oh right. Well last night Gallian and Porthole did some investigating and found something quite interesting," he begins to say, taking out Reku's watch.

"Wufei?" The screen turns on and Lady Une's face appears.

"Lady Une. Morning," Wufei answers.

"Good morning to you all. There's an important call for you Wufei. Is it alright to put it through?"

"Sure." Her face disappears and a man around his 30's appears.

"Chang Wufei?"

"This is he."

"Sir, my name is Charles, a student of Master Seiji. I'm afraid that I must be the bearer of bad news now. Master Seiji passed away last night."

"What?" Wufei answers, surprised as other gasps are heard around the room.

"He had been quite ill lately and finally died last night."

"He was a great man."

"We just wanted to tell you that we will be holding a burial service later this week and we hope you will attend."

"I will try my hardest," showing his respect to the late swordsman.

"By the way sir, have you seen a miss Maeko Ikura lately?"

"Yes I have. I'll be sure to give her the word."

"Thank you." With that, the screen turns off and Quatre puts a hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Wufei. I'm sorry. You two must have been close."

"You shouldn't be worrying about me." He turns the screen back on, only for Sally's face to appear. "Sally, is Maeko there with you?" he asks.

"No. She left a while ago. She also said that she wanted to make a phone call which I thought would be to her family or something."

"Thanks." He shuts her off and turns towards the others."If she called her family..."

"Then she already knows. We should go look for her," Naora finishes.

"What about what Gallian and I found out last night?" Porthole says, trying to stop everyone from leaving and going on a hunt.

"You need to hear it most of all Wufei," Gallian states.

"I'll go take care of Maeko. You guys stay," Quatre says as he heads out.

"Wait, I'll come too," Naora states as she runs after him.

"Alright, now what were you two saying?" Wufei asks.

Chibi Reli doesn't know what happened, but we can always use a another one that wasn't mentioned.

" you have to promise not to yell at us." Duo said looking at Wufei, then the boys.

" You have my words within a limit." Wufei said with an eyebrow raised.

" Well then sit down and listen to this."

Sally stepped out for a while, so a boy snuck out.

" Need food."

He walked down the hallway and saw the girl standing there over the phone.

" Are you alright?" Reku said looking at Maeko.

" You're not allowed out of the Sick bay, what are you doing here?" Maeko said still looking down.

" If you tell me what's wrong, I'll tell you why I'm out here." He said trying to look her in the face.

" My master just died, I... just... It hurts." She starts crying again.

" I don't know how that feels, but I'm here for you, whatever you need. A shoulder to cry on or some one to yell at I'm right here. Ok." Reku said holding her in his arms. " Remember we're all here for you."

"Maeko? Are you alright?" Quatre asks as he and Naora see her and Reku on the floor.

"I can't believe that he's dead," she says, tears trickling down her face unnoticed by her.

"It's going to be alright," Naora says, rubbing her back.

"Reku, what are you doing out of bed?" Quatre asks, looking at the boy next to her.

"I wanted to get something to eat, but then I found Maeko here," he answers, not taking his eyes off the girl.

"I think we should get you back to your bed Reku."

"But I rather stay with Maeko. Or at least let me make sure she's okay," he pleads.

"Fine. Right afte we bring her back to her room, you better rest."

"Come on Maeko. Maeko?" Naora says as she starts to get up. They all watch as Maeko takes her sword and takes out her sword, dropping the case next to her. Before anyone can react to her movement, she takes the sword in her right and slices a little of her left arm.

"Maeko!"

"Good work, when you destroy the base, keep him alive. And then bring him here." The recording stops and everyone looks at Wufei.

"I can't believe it. She's actually a spy?"

"Sounds like it Wufei," Trowa responds.

"I can't believe it," he whispers under his breath.

"No one's around. This is my chance," Chloe says as she peaks outside her door and heads out.
