Blissful Ignorance

How did I never reply to this fic? It's funny, because for as long as it's been since its initial post, is how long this story has lingered so strongly in the back of my mind that I use it as subconscious reference in regard to possible feelings Sesshoumaru may have had concerning Inu's mother. Seriously, this fic is embedded in my neurons. The writing is exquisite, the characterization so precise I think Sesshoumaru beta-ed this fic himself (with a huge blush and grumbling under his breath, no doubt), and the scene is altogether tender, sadistic and tragic.

Good gracious Lord, I absolutely adore this piece.

Oh, and BTW, your random yellow explanation was hilarious. But even more BTW, for some reason I nearly guffawed myself into the ER with your little drabble at the end between Trowa, Miroku and Inu. Why the hell was Trowa there?? I do love a good crossover, but never expected that one! Did he and Miroku ever notice that they're voice twins? Why am I asking more questions about your drabble than your spellbinding fic? Slap me.

Oh wow... that is the single most accurate portrayal of Sesshomaru's feelings that I've ever read. Other fics tend to give him weaknesses he doesn't have, or have him act in a way entirely against his upbringing in order to get him and Rin together (when she's older, of course...) But this, somehow, fits so perfectly with the personality of that sexy bishie we all know and love, as developed on screen. Sesshomaru -does- hate humans-- so he has to analyze and explain every action of mercy he bestows on them. There's always another, perfectly logical explanation for what he does that has nothing to do with his personal feelings-- and the audience at home just has to learn to know better. ^_~

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I love the back story you made for him and how it works perfectly to fuel his actions in the "present." I could hear every word in Sesshomaru's voice. Being as he's one of my favorite characters, this was a real treat to find. ^_^ Great job!
