Chapter 1: The Real Beginning







A.C. 202




Relena smiled, she was finally outside, free too. She was from the Dove of Peace into the Dove of Freedom. “ So your out here Miss Relena.” A feminine voice echoed in the wind. Relena looked up to see Dorothy Catalonia, actually, Dorothy Winner. “ Yes, out of all the places to go for my vacation, I round up going to this beach.” Dorothy smirked, “ I heard a bird once tell me that there was a story behind this beach between you and ... Heero Yuy.”



Relena did not take her eyes off the splattering waves but nodded. “ Yes there was.” “ Your still in love with him? He’s been disappeared for 5 years already.” “ And you’ve been married to Quatre for 1 year. I persume you have not found out what real love is yet then.”

“ Yes, I must agree I haven’t. Some people consume pain in this emotion, but some live in happiness like me with their love ones.”



“ Yes, I agree. I’m quite jealous of you, having someone you love already by your side. I’m more jealous of Sally for evening having a child with Wufei. But everything has its good and its bads.” “ Very so, but I rarely should say this, but you deserve someone to be by you.” A light chuckle came out of Relena, “ I think that God gave me inseprated paths to my destiny. But I had to choose the path being Vice Foreign Minister.”



“ My my Miss Relena. I never knew you were into these nonsence. Theres no such things as God, if they’re were then God would’ve helped us with the Peace already. Have you ever thought that theres no such things as miracles? Coincedence? Theres none of that.” Dorothy explained. “ I never knew you could be so reasonable Dorothy.” “ Yes I am.”



A beep was heard ringing inside Dorothy’s purse so Dorothy opened it. Her cellphone was ringing violently making Dorothy sighed in sarcasm, “ Quatre has to put the maximum vibration.” “ Wow, today must be a day for me. Dorothy Catalonia-Winner is being sarcastic.” Dorothy let out a smirk and pulled the mini-phone up to her ear. “ Hello?”



Relena smiled and turned back to her concentration on the beach. Memories flooded in, simple and beautiful.




December 31, A.C. 197




“ 10...9...8...” The conference started the count down. Duo clapped in the rythm of each second passing to a whole new year. “...7...6...” Relena looked around seeing politics, the President, Lady Une and Mariamaia with Duo and Hilde. Quatre was congraduating the staff and herself, feeling happy. The era of peace had lasted for 1 year again. But they had to wait if a couple of days later someone would announce the break of pacifism.



“ ...5...4...3...” “ You did well this past year, Vice Minister Darlian.” A voice spoke behind her. “ Relena turned around to see Lady Une. “ Thank you. I appreciate what people have coexisted together, Colony and Earth.” Lady Une smiled, “ You seem disappointed of something.” “ ...2...” Relena knew who she was talking about, “ I’m not, because I know Heero is looking after me...in the shadows.” “...1...” “ Yes.” Lady Une nodded, and a loud shout from Duo caught their attention. “ ...0! Happy New Year people!”





That day was wonderful, and before she new it, weeks had gone by and no sign of disruption to the war. But still, she felt like she wanted something dangerous to happen. She knew what she thought was awful, but that was the only way Heero would come and be her knight in shining armours.





Febuary 14, A.C. 198




“ Relena!” The vid-phone turned on automatically and Relena perched up from her paperwork. “ Hilde?” Relena replied softly. “ Your still working? Look what day it is! Febuary the 14! You should be out with someone, a special person you like!” Hilde stared at the youthful girl on Colony L2 through the vid-phone. “ Hilde,” Relena tiredly said,

“ You know I don’t have time for those things.”



“ But Relena! It’s not those things that will happen everyday. Todays Valentine’s Day for goodness sake!” “ Yes, I know. Still, all these delegates are due tomorrow.” Relena stared at Hilde through the vid-phone. “ Anyways, what did Duo give you this time?” A timt of red blushed Hilde’s cheek and she held out her hand so the camera could catch a look at it. Relena let out a gasp and Hilde nodded.



“ He proposed to you?!” “ I know, weird because he said he didn’t want to marry. And now he just goes in, gets in one knee and says, ‘ Will you marry me Hilde,’ in the most dramatic way!” “ I’m happy for you.”



And so the two talked, Relena not noticing a man walked in silently and leave, putting a wrapped up box on the Vice Foriegn Minister’s desk. “ I must really finish my work Hilde. I will see you at your wedding.”Relena bidd farewell and turned back to her work. Then a light reflected to her face and Relena looked on her desk to see a wrapped up package. It read, To: Relena Darlian, but the giver was unkown.



Opening it without caution, Relena’s eyes glittered in tears. A hazel furred teddy bear sat in the box with a card tied around its neck.

The stuffed animal was still there, right on Relena un-touched bed. She had sewed it, pouched it, re-newed the cotton and fur. The bear ment the most to her, she loved it. “ Yes, I know. I’ll bring her back, but then again...” Dorothy’s voice penetrated her back to real life. “ I garentee she would-NO!” The yell caused Relena to turn and look at Dorothy. The wheat blonde was fuming. “ No, don’t apologize Quatre Raberba Winner.” Dorothy snapped her phone closed and faced Relena.



“ I’d say we got rid of one problem. Would you like to go to dinner Miss Relena?” “ I’d love to Dorothy. I’ll call Pargan-,” “ Have no need,” Relena was cut, “ We’ll go by Taxi.” Relena stared at Dorothy Catalonia-Winner, “ But Miss Dorothy-,” “ I know, but your safety will be secured with me.” Sounding convinced, Relena stood up and wiped the sand off her skirt.

“ Very well. Where are we going may I ask?” Dorothy let out a smirk, “ Where else? I’d say the most gossiping place there is in Sanc.”



Groaning, Relena smiled, “ At least I know that you’re not an imposter.” “ Very funny Miss Relena.” Sarcasm was found in Dorothy’s voice and once again, Dorothy’s phone rang. One ring, two rings, 3 rings, “ Aren’t you going to answer?” “ No, its not important.” “ Fine.”

“ Don’t be foolish Miss Relena. Nothings important these days, only yourself.” “ You sound minor after your call with Quatre. What did you two talk about to cause you angry?”



“ Nothing,” Dorothy waved her hand in the road. A yellow car stopped and turned to the rear lane. “ Quatre thinks that I can’t bring you back home and he wants Duo to pick us up. But I can’t handle Maxwell and so I don’t want to. The nerve of Quatre thinking I can’t bring you home safe.” Dorothy’s eyes narrowed stepping in the cab. “ Yes, then again, Quatre-,”

“ It’s bullshit if he can’t think of me stronger then I am.” “ Miss Dorothy, please.” Relena warned of the vurgal language.



“ Miss Relena, your too pure.” “ Why do you say that?” Relena arched an eyebrow, “ No ones pure.” “ You are. You know rumours are spread that you’re not human.” Relena this time gapped, “ What do you mean people say I’m not human? I have a human flesh, bones with tears.” “ Yes, but to some people, you are an angel, goddess. You have nevor felt lust, passion-,” “ Please Dorothy, I understand.” Relena interupted and changed the subgect, “ I’ve heard that Trowa’s circus troop is coming to town this weekend.”



Dorothy let out a shrugg, “ Quatre was talking about it the whole day yestuarday. Sometimes, I think Quatre is in love with Trowa in the first place.” “ Dorothy, really.” “ You see Miss Relena. You can’t even complain about someone.”



Relena let out a sigh of defeat, “ Miss Dorothy, you are in possible.” In the years, some of Dorothy’s ignorant behavior still remained. “ I know, you try so much in vain to change me Miss Relena.” “ I must agree that you are right.” “ Ladies, we have arrived to your destination, Movel’ De Ve` Restuarant. That would be $ 23.85 dollars.” “ Relena grabbed her purse and tooked out a $ 50 dollar bill, but before she knew it, the driver was giving Dorothy her change. And an advance seductive smile, but Dorothy brushed the smile away and said, “ Come Miss Relena. We will be late for the latest gossip.”



“ Yes Dorothy.” Relena crawled out of the cab on the right side door and the two blonde walked inside the restuarant. “ A table for two, and can we have a seat behind a plant? My friend here needs the refreshment she can.” Dorothy lied, but the waiter believed them and lead Dorothy and Relena down the aisle. Relena scanned her surroundings seeing ladies, and Dorothy smirked once again. Was that the only thing Dorothy could do these days?

“ Now Miss Relena, listen carefully. You’ll learned a great deal of things.”



Relena sat quietly, hearing voices and Dorothy let out a chuckle meaning something was coming up.



“ I know, my neice is going out with that young man. I tell you, he looks so familar!” A women with a slight french accent talked hastily. “ My sister says her duaghter plans to marry him!”



“ My, my. What is his name?” Another women spoke.



“ I don’t know, he’s Japanese or something. Heero Yuy is what I heard from my neice.”

Relena almost fell from her chair and Dorothy just choked her tea.



“ I know, my neice is going out with that young man. I tell you, he looks so familiar!



“ My sister says her duaghter plans to marry him!”



“ I don’t know the’s Japanese or something. Heero Yuy is what I heard from my neice.”
