How often do you want to see contests and challenges at BI?

Hello! With the formal announcement of the Destiny 2 contest, there's been a few things on my mind.

Destiny 1 was the first fanfiction contest BI ever had, and I, at least, was very pleased about the results. :)

I have the results to post for Lime-Aid, they're a little over a week behind due to the fact that I've been sick off an on, but that's besides the point. MY QUESTIONS ARE:

Do you, as visitors, like having a fairly regular challenge-type thing to do, more regular contests, etc. Or do you prefer like one BIG contest a year, and if Rose gets a wild hair, the occasional challenge can be fun.... Or do you even LIKE contests?

The other thing is... Destiny is, obviously, our 1xR (Heero x Relena) fanfiction contest. We had the Lime-Aid contest (also 1xR), and a New Years' challenge (no prizes). My other other question is: Are there people who are SERIOUSLY interested (enough that they'd like to enter) in challenges and/or contests for other animes and GW couplings supported on this board? I don't intend to make them part of Destiny, but I was thinking of trying to offer some activities and prizes to fans of other GW couplings and anime series. But it depends somewhat on INTEREST in having such things.

SO, that's why we have POLLS! YAY!!!! (we needed a new one, anyway)

Even though I'm new to Hellsing fanfics and it has yet to garner a large audience as of yet here on BI, I wouldn't mind seeing a contest of some sort for that anime.

I'm not particularly HUGE about contests because I'm so unsure of my own writing, but if it's the right type of contest with the right type of inspiration I'm definitely going to enter. But contests are a good thing because it brings out the best in people's writing (I hope). And for those who are stuck on one thing may get inspired to write something else which then triggers the missing link for their previous writing.

That's my little bit of bee's wax!

P.S. A contest featuring 3xR would definitely get my attention as well! :wink:

Contests sound wonderful to me!!! I'd love to see one for Rxany of the 5 pilots... Sounds interesting???

I'll have to see what I can do. I'm sure that Stella could help me with a prompt. I lack prizes, but with the number of Hellsing doujinshis and whatnot that are being released, I'm sure I could see if Cheryl could find me some nice Hellsing stationery.

I love doujinshi stationery. :D

I'm new, but would like to try and participate in contests if I thought that I could prouduce something that would even be good enough to submitt.

Hi! -I just wanted to say that I've been looking all over for contests, and all I really came up with was a ton of yaoi contests... :eek: -And, I'm not much of a yaoi fan, so... I was kinda' like, eww! :pale: -Sorry if that's offensive to anyone... -Anyway, I'm excited about this contest, and I really kinda' need to start working on a fic to enter... -So, ja'ne!

I am not much of a writer and I love HxR but I do like to draw. Have you ever considered a fan ART contest? I would definately submit something.

MBF... no. You can't do it. All of that effort MUST go to 1xR. I mean it!!

But let me put my two cents in on the topic. I LOVE the contest thing, and I think that making a contest for one of the other animes would be just peachy. Kenshin has gotten alot of new online support since it started airing on US tv, and thanks to *the administration's* constant plugging, many people are getting into Fruits Basket. Plus, Trigun's always popular. I think those three are easy targets for a big contest (although there already is a contest for FB, right?)

By the way, is mayhaps technically a word? i've always wondered... I thought it was just "mayhap" or something like that..... grr arrg... so confuzzled...
