'Well, I guess the time was going to come one day. I'd have a chance to leave the Sohmas, and I wouldn't really have a choice... But I know I'll cry. They've all been so kind to me, like a family almost. I guess...I guess I'll say goodbye.

?Miss Honda? Why are you-? Suddenly the door flew open, and pounding steps were heard. ?Why the hell are you crying what happened?!? Kyou's much rougher voice rang out in the house, he was breathing fast as if he'd been running. Tohru blinked away her tears and smiled sweetly at the two boys she'd grown to love so much. ?Kyou... Yuki... I have to do what my mom wanted... I have to do well in school, so, I got an offer at a college, it's really nice.? The two boys froze, Kyou looked down at the ground, and Yuki stared sadly at Tohru. ?So I can guess, this college is far away, and that's why you're so upset.? Tohru nodded. Kyou's eyes narrowed, but he said nothing. ?I see....? A sad voice came from the doorway. Kyou frowned, ?You better not go off on one of your whining rampages...? Shigure looked down, ?But how can you two boys remain so emotionless? It's offal Tohru leaving, and you know it.? He said holding his arm up to his forehead. Both Kyou and Yuki frowned. Tohru looked up at the three she'd been living with, Shigure in his dramatic pose, Kyou's fists clenching, trying to keep in his emotions, and Yuki, standing perfectly straight and beautiful, but his eyes showing everything. She smiled. ?It's okay, I'll only be gone for a little while, I'd come back.? They all looked over at her. ?There's no way I could stay away from here too long. This place is my home, once somebody's found a place they can happily call home, why would they want to stay away?? Yuki and Shigure smiled, and even Kyou's expression changed to a more bashful surprised look. Tohru slightly blushed having the three of them staring at her expectantly, and fixed a wrinkle in her dress. ?Well... I'm going to say goodbye to the rest of them tomorrow. After all, I leave on Tuesday, so that only gives me a day and a half left here.? She said with a forced smile. Shigure smiled sadly as well, ?Yes well, we all shall do something nice tomorrow then.? Tohru nodded happily, then realized she was about to cry again, and knew she had to do something. ?W-well, all right then! I'm going to go wash up and go to bed, I'm really very tired.? She forced one last smile, and went up the stairs. Shigure glanced at the two boys. ?So what are you going to do?...? Yuki stayed silent, and Kyou turned to face the window, looking up at the full moon. Shigure sighed. ?Yuki?....? Yuki turned away, Shigure frowned, ?Kyou?...? Kyou slumped down onto the window seal.

Tohru was sitting on her bed staring at the ground. 'How long have I been sitting this way?...It must have been at least an hour....' Her face saddened, and she stepped out of bed. She walked out to the balcony, and climbed up the latter to the roof.

Yuki glanced over at Kyou. ?You know what you have to do...? Kyou felt slightly irked by this comment. ?Do what?? Yuki's eyes narrowed, ?She was the only one who brought you back... you would've kept running...running farther and farther away.? Kyou's heart was beating faster now, he could feel the familiar cold feeling creeping up in his stomach. ?Who the hell do you think you are bringing that up?...? Kyou's voice was low. ?I don't know exactly what you should say... but you should at least tell her something, you've never said a word, and you know she won't... but she deserves at least that.? Kyou felt more shocked than angry at the moment. ?And what about you?... aren't you gonna tell her.? Yuki looked confused. ?What do you mean?? Kyou's eyes saddened, and he looked down. ?She'd....she'd be happy with you...? Yuki's eyes widened. ?Stupid cat...don't say things like that, you know we can't have such things with the curse.? Kyou lowered his voice more. ?Why not?... I've seen it happen...? Yuki felt the most confused he ever had in his life, why was Kyou acting so strange? ?Every time she's around any of us, it's there... so we can have that....? Yuki grew slightly sad. ?What about you?? Kyou huffed. ?What about me?... I can feel one way about her my whole life, but that doesn't change anything... I'm still a monster, whether I'm in my other form, or just being me... It wouldn't change that I scare so many people...I... almost hope she could never feel the same way I do about her... I wouldn't wish that on anyone.?

'I have to do this... Get a fresh start, get a nice job.... it's for the best... I can't burden them anymore.' SNAP Tohru jumped back and fell on her butt, glancing around for the source of the noise. ?I-is someone there?....? she said shakily. Suddenly she saw a figure lay down on the opposite side. 'Kyou?...' She crawled over to him, and hesitated for a moment before saying anything. ?Kyou?? He slightly jumped, but noticed it was her, and gave a weak smile. ?Oh.. Hey.? She sat down next to him and smiled. They both sat in silence for a while, just staring at the stars. ?This reminds me of when I first got you to talk to me.? Kyou looked up at her, ?Huh?...? Tohru laughed. ?When you didn't like me much for a while there, and I finally got you to talk to me... I was reminded of that, and it made me laugh.? Kyou smiled. ?Yeah...I remember that.? Tohru's eyes were running over Kyou's stomach slightly, and she was made a bit nervous, and looked away. 'How could I have not noticed Kyou's changed so much until now? He's so much bigger than he was when I first met him.' she smiled. 'I guess all his hard work has paid off.' She felt a cold sweat break on the back of her neck. 'Why am I even thinking about that?!' she suddenly blushed and lowered her head. Kyou noticed the sudden change in her and sat up. ?Hey...? Tohru hid her face even more. ?A-ah yes?? Kyou raised an eyebrow. ?What's your problem?? She looked up. ?O-oh, uhm, I uhm... I was just thinking too much, and uhm, surprised myself, you know how funny thoughts can be sometimes?? He looked a bit confused, but shrugged. ?Yeah I guess.? Tohru smiled comfortably again. ?Well... I'm going to go to bed, we have a big day tomorrow. Don't you think Kyou?? She said standing up, and smiling at him. He looked sad, but smiled back. ?Yeah...? Her eyes softened, ?Good night then.? She turned her back to him, and began to slowly walk toward the latter. ?Good night....Tohru.? He said quietly, feeling as if he had almost won a race against Yuki, but got distracted and tripped right before the finish line. He glanced one more time at her, and suddenly noticed a loose board in the roof. His eyes opened wide and he jumped to his feet. ?Tohru stop!? She looked over her shoulder, ?Wha?? But it was too late, he saw her foot lay to rest on the board, and it cracked. His breath caught in his chest, and he swore his heart stopped for a second. As he ran towards her she fell back, letting out a scream that brought pain to Kyou's whole body. He jumped and caught her just by her left arm. She looked up, her words stifled with fear until that one moment when she screamed his name to save her. ?K-Kyou!? He pulled her up to him so he could support her back with his left arm, and still hold her far enough so he wouldn't transform. A tear ran down her cheek, and she rested her hands on his shoulders. ?Kyou...? He couldn't stand to see such fear running through her eyes still. In those few seconds, the only thoughts that had been in her mind, were of death, and he couldn't stand that. ?You need to be more careful... Tohru...? Tohru suddenly noticed that tears were in his eyes. ?I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset, I-? Kyou pulled her a bit closer, so now she could feel his lower body against hers. ?Shut up... you haven't done anything wrong, don't go thinking it's your fault...? She blushed, but didn't look away from him. ?K-...Kyou.? He waited for her to finish talking, but got too confused. ?What?? He felt slightly warmer than usual, and glanced down, finally noticing that Tohru's skirt had been pushed up in the front when he'd pulled her closer. He blushed, and went silent. 'Kyou has gotten so much bigger...' Tohru thought as she began to feel a little hot. Kyou was closer now, only inches from her lips, his breathing growing heavy. ?Tohru, is everything all right? I thought I heard a scream.? Shigure's voice was heard from the balcony. Both Tohru and Kyou's hearts jumped, and they pulled away from each other. ?I-I'm okay Shigure, I was just looking at the stars before I went to bed and uhm... I thought I saw a bat.? (Shigure: ..... A bat?) ?Oh that's awful, you poor little flower! You should come inside at once.? Tohru nodded absentmindedly even though Shigure couldn't see her. ?Okay, I'm coming in now.? Shigure grinned, ?Oh, and Tohru?? ?Y-yes?? ?Don't let Kyou find you I think he's in heat. Good night then, Hmm hmm.? He said in a sing song voice, and left. (Tohru: *Sweat drop*) Kyou slightly growled. ?Neh.... Damn dog.?

Tohru felt the sun shining bright in her eyes, and she slowly opened them. ?Good morning Miss Honda.? Tohru felt instantly happy at the smooth sound of Yuki's voice, she rolled over at sat up in her bed, smiling at Yuki. ?Oh, good morn-uh?? She stopped, and looked down at a tray of breakfast he was holding. He smiled shyly. ?I read up a little bit on cooking, and decided...well... I wanted to make you breakfast for once, Miss Honda.? Tohru's eyes lit up. ?Oh my goodness, you made this?!? Yuki laughed, and scratched the back of his head, ?Well yes, I hope I did an okay job. I know it's not much, but I thought I'd give it a try.? Tohru's smile only widened, and she clasped her hands together in front of her chest. ?Oh yes, it really is wonderful.? She grabbed the chopsticks and tried some of the eggs. ?And nothing is burnt, Yuki, you've really out done yourself!? Yuki's eyes were a bit wide, and his cheeks pink. 'Even considering that burnt remark, she said it in such a cheerful way, how could I take it wrong?' (Yuki: ^_^; ) (Tohru:

Tohru froze as stiff as a board, and Yuki's eyes went dark. ?Is it just me, or do I need to find my dictionary bag again...Shigure?? Shigure shrank down a bit. ?Oh Yuki...So cruel, and cold. And to think, our poor little flower has had to deal with two such ruthless young men. The tragedy!...? He threw his hand to his forehead. ?So... The writer guy just told you to leave that big-ass bead behind huh?? Tohru smiled at her two friends. ?Yes, he said that he wants to keep it there for when I come back.? Uo looked a bit confused, and Hana smiled. ?I'm very sure those boys will miss you.? Tohru laughed. ?Maybe, but I'll write them, and I'm sure they'll get along fine.? Uo laughed. ?Even so, you know how they act, they'll be bickering all the time because one opened one of your letters, and then the other one couldn't find it.? Tohru smiled nervously, and couldn't help but think of that outcome. (Kyou: How the hell could you lose one of her letters?!! Yuki: I didn't lose it you stupid cat, I just misplaced it.) Tohru sighed. ?Well...I guess I should get cleaned up and go see the rest of the family.? Uo and Hana nodded. ?Yes, we shall come and see you tomorrow Tohru.? Uo smirked in agreement. ?Yeah, what time does your plane leave tomorrow?? Tohru put her index finger to her chin. ?Hmm...Oh yes, 10:00 am.? Both her friends hugged her, ?All right then, we'll be here at 8:00 tomorrow.? Uo said in her matter of fact voice. Tohru nodded and smiled. ?Right.?
