I'm having fun, hope other people like it well enough so far. I was going for twisted fairy tale....

Still don't own GW at all.

The cave was cold. Even worse it was ugly. Relena had surrounded herself with beautiful things when she had brought peace to the world. For a long time she resided in a white stone palace, tinged with pink. True the west tower looked a bit like a giant pepto bismol bottle, but she liked it anyway. Things were very decent. And now she?d have to substantially rebuild the great hall thanks to that stupid hulking beastly creature!

?You won?t get away with this. My brother and my suitors will come for me. Then you?ll be as good as dragon steak at my return banquet.? The dragon arched an eyeridge at her and continued to rest, one claw still clutched about her waist. Relena tapped her nails on his scales in an irritated fashion. After a while the dragon began to growl as the tapping echoed in the silent cave. She kept doing it.

?STOP THAT!? The dragon yelled at her. Relena felt her face scorch a little and smelled her hair burn around the tips as it was blown back. It smelled like charcol all around her now. She coughed.

?Then let me go. I need to go to the bathroom anyway.?

?No.?

?Do you want me to go here??

?No.?

?Then what??

?I don?t know.?

?You are a bloody minded person, you know.? She rested her head in her hand, and leaned against his claw.

?I?m not a person.? The dragon thrummed.

Relena huffed in anger. ?What if I promised I wouldn?t run away. I?ll swear by everything I hold dear that if I don?t return to you --? she paused waiting for him to say his name.

?. . . Heero?

??if I don?t return to you, dragon Heero, that you may take my life to do with as you see fit.? For a moment she wondered what he would do. Then the claw released from around her waist. Walking outside took a while, and she was sure she would get lost, but finally she found a way outside and took a look as to where her captor had taken her. The mountain was huge, and the air was thin up here. There was some green grass and some snow, but other than that just rocks and more mountains. It would take quite a while for a rescue party to get here. She might as well make the best of things. Going back inside, as she wasn?t about to break her promise, even to a dragon, she tripped on some rocks and felt something jab her in the head sharply when she fell. Her wand! She had totally forgotten. If she had had it, then it would have been a lot easier from the start. It had been a long time since she had needed her magic. Frankly, it took a lot of practice and concentration and she hadn?t done it in so long. But no matter, it was just like riding a bike, right? It would all just flow like back in the day. Sweeping up her now slightly torn robes, she tried to find her way back and think of some spells at the same time.

After a while it became clear to her that she was lost. Now the dragon would think she had run away. It was getting colder too. Even if the cave was ugly, it had been warm with the presence of the dragon (or at least the part that had held her). Now, without him, the altitude and wind chill were biting through her. Stupid dragon. It started to get dark and Relena wondered if he was ever going to find her, of she would have to find something to magically set on fire. Rocks didn?t work, or else she would have been in good shape.

Those same rocks stirred around her as something began to rumble in the distance. ?Releeeenaaaaa!!!? The enraged bellow was getting closer. Clutching her wand, Relena cowered as she felt the wind stir from the direction of her called name. Oh yes, the dragon had noticed her long absence all right. When he burst forth from the darkness, preceeded by flame, she thought that she had finally glimpsed hell. From instinct she waved her wand and yelled out the first thing that came to mind.

?Cambiare vivus forma? Her words were strange and arcane. Dragged out from the back of her mind only for that brief moment of glory, her power retreated to obscure itself in the pathways of her subconscious. Gone for now. Exhausted from the effort of casting what was an immensely powerful spell, she tried to remember what that spell in fact did. She needn?t have thought to hard, soon her handiwork was quite evident as the dazed figure of what used to be the dragon approached her.

He was a dragon no longer. The slanted angry eyes were smaller but still spat condescension at her. What a pretty blue they were, she now thought. Her eyes widened in surprise. Turning around quickly in embarrassment, she heard Heero approach her with murder in his eyes. He was quite naked you see, and quite human as well. At least, he was human in form.

?What have you done, you foul witch!? Heero was beyond raging. He had thought that killing such a bit of human fluff was beneath him, and her ransom would surely swell his treasures, but indeed she was just the fearsome Enchantress that she used to be and now he was living proof of her power. A weak human body. How embarrassing. This needed to be rectified as soon as possible. ?Change me back!? He grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her. She stared at the ceiling and blushed. After a moment it finally registered that not only was he very naked but very cold. Stupid humans. Relena mumbled something. Heero?s still dragon sharp hearing picked it up just barely. ?What did you say??

?. . . I said,? Relena spoke louder, and Heero studied her lips very carefully. ?I don?t know how to change you back. And even if I knew I won?t be strong enough to for another three days.? Three was always the magic number in cases like this. ?Until then we just have to make the best of it.?

?Hn.? Heero growled under his breath. He shivered again. Bumps raised on his skin. He wondered how the humans had gotten so powerful when they were so weak. A robe was thrust before him after he pulled himself away from Relena. It was one of her layers of clothing. She still had two more layers and her corset after that overcoat, and she couldn?t have her only chance at survival dying on her. Someone needed to take care of her until the rescue party got there. Plus she did feel a little bit guilty for changing his form. He accepted it without a word, wrapped it around himself as best he could and then began to stalk back to his home cave. Relena followed without a word.

They walked for a long time in the dark. Heero?s eyes must still be fine in the dark for him to be so sure of where he was going and not trip. Eventually Relena remembered a light spell and coaxed a faint glow from her wand. She couldn?t get anything besides a faint glow due to mental fatigue from casting such a powerful spell earlier. She cursed the fact that she didn?t know any spells that could really hurt anything. Even though she was a pacifist, it would have been a lot more helpful for both of them if all she had done was hurt him a little. His hair bobbed a bit as he moved, there was quite a lot of it and very messy as well. He also looked very funny in her robe, like a skinny wizard?s apprentice. After they had walked a while, Heero suddenly stopped. Relena ran into him as she was closely following and fell on her rump with a thump and a squeal.

?Why is this body telling me I?m hungry? I ate a week or two ago, I should be fine for at least the rest of the month.? His confused eyes sought hers, but the frown did nothing to soften his expression. Relena snickered a bit. There were some things about being a human he wasn?t going to like.

?It?s telling you you?re hungry because humans need to eat at least once a day. At least. Preferably twice, or even three times.?

?But where do you store it all? Do you just keep expanding?? The idea of this skinny boy swelled out like a bullfrog in mid croak caused her to roll around on the floor laughing.

?We, uh, eliminate it rather quickly.? Relena saw his face contort into a grimace. It was really a rather nice face, maybe he had been a rather attractive dragon. Not that she would know what made a dragon attractive, maybe nice scales?

?Come on, we still have a long way to go. I have food at the cave. We would have been there an hour ago if I were in my real form.? He said the last part loudly, the emphasis being on how he was not going to forgive her for this most likely. In a way she was sad it happened, her feet were pretty tired and her magical energy was running out, making things steadily darker now that it was totally dark outside in general. She shivered. It was too darned cold.

Finally they reached the cave, not that Relena could really tell it from anything else they had gone through, but as Heero was rooting around somewhere she assumed that he would know when they had gotten to his home. She gasped when he shoved some meat in her face. It didn?t look bloody, and the cold seemed to have preserved it somewhat, but it was raw meat all the same. Her nose crinkled in disdain. Even though he was only offering to her what he himself considered to be something perfectly edible, she just couldn?t.

?Could you start a fire?? His arm still extended, he cocked his head to the side. Her eyes were adjusting to the dim glow that the moss on the walls exuded as her wand finally died on her.

?Why??

?I want to cook this.? He grumbled and then looked around for something to light on fire. After finding a few scraps of moss he squatted in front of it. Relena rubbed her arms impatiently, hoping he would get some fire and warmth into this place. He just sat there, and eventually she got impatient. ?What are you waiting for?!?

?I ? I don?t know how to start a fire this way. Maybe that?s why I also can?t seem to get warm. . . ? He sounded kind of lost and helpless, like he had just discovered he was missing a thumb. Maybe not being able to breathe fire anymore was like missing a thumb to a dragon. Relena felt bad again about her mistake, even if he was cold blooded (literally) and only took her so that he could probably ransom her and then kill her. Good lord! Why was she so soft hearted?

?It?s fine, we?ll figure it out tomorrow when it is more light out. I can go a day without eating.? Her stomach protested this greatly, but she tried to cover up the loud gurgle with a cough. Relena instead busied herself with trying to make a nice place to sleep. She moved rocks around, and attempted to find something that could be considered soft. Moss was about it. Heero watched her do all this, not moving, and seemed to study her with a steady gaze. After a while she found this quite unnerving. ?WHAT?!?

?What are you doing? Making a nest? You don?t have any gold, so that can?t be it.?

?Why would I need gold??

?It?s the softest thing to sleep on.? Maybe it is if you are a dragon and your scales shred anything not metallic you try to sleep on, Relena thought to herself.

?Moss is fine for someone like me. It?s no mattress, but it will do for now.? When she had enough, she tried to settle down to sleep thinking that tomorrow would be easier to face if it were morning and light out. She heard Heero get up and wander away, and she was glad. His presence was kind of creepy, what with his staring and all. Cute though. Even in her dress, as it were, he managed to exude a sort of power. Maybe he had retained a little of his dragon-ness after all.

The night was too cold to sleep. She shivered in the moss. She tried to shrink into her clothes but that did nothing much to help the cold. She embraced herself as best she could to seal in the little body heat she generated. What made matters worse was that her corset was really uncomfortable, but taking it off meant being even colder. It looked like should wouldn?t be getting much sleep. About to give up on even trying, she felt a hand shake her roughly. Opening an eye, she saw Heero standing over her, the usual frown marring his handsome face.

?Gold isn?t very comfortable, and it isn?t very warm. It?s stupid to be apart. Humans are warm-blooded right? Hence it would make more sense to sleep together and save our heat.? He said this all matter of factly. He really thought this, she concluded. Weighing her options, as he waited for her answer silently, she decided it was better to be warm and asleep than cold and awake even if it meant sleeping with a transformed dragon who also was her kidnapper. Best not to think of anything at all. It was just for the sake of survival. They would both be warm and fine if she hadn?t messed with his physical form, but that would only be true if they were sleeping next to one another anyway. She just couldn't win today.

?Fine.? He lay down next to her, back to back. For Relena?s part she did think it was nice to be warmer. Heero also seemed to be having an ok time settling into the moss nest. Now the only thing bothering her was her damn corset. After a few minutes of fidgeting Heero spoke up.

?What?s wrong? Your moving keeps me awake.?

?I, um, am wearing something very uncomfortable, but to take it off would make me a lot colder.?

?Then take it off, we?ll just get closer. At this rate neither of us will sleep, and this stupid human body is already tired as it is.? Relena fussed with the ties in the front and finally unlaced them all. With a relieved sigh she pulled it off underneath her clothes with the same sort of proud flourish that only a girl knows how to make in such situations as removing clothing from beneath other clothing, such as a bra, and extracting it with little hassle. With some trepidation she turned towards Heero. They embraced, and Relena was glad it was dark otherwise her blush would be obvious. This was much more intimate than she?d ever been with a man, and yet this wasn?t a man and they weren?t about to do anything inappropriate. Heero mumbled something close to her ear, and she caught just enough to make her want to pull away. . . .?Your chest area seems to have expanded.? Relena closed her eyes tightly and hope she wouldn?t have to explain anything about ladies undergarments tonight.
