My ideas always come on the computer...

My ideas always come to me when I'm working on the computer. But that can keep me on it for hours and kills the old back. When I do write it down, I always seem to nit pick it to death and it's never as good to me. I don't know why I do this? What do you guys do?

I don't know what you can do because I do the exact same thing. Although, I write the basis of the plot during class (when I'm supposed to be working) and then do all the 'nit-picking' later on my computer. It still takes a lot of time, but having an idea of what I'm going to do saves me time.

that happens to me quite a lot. So here's what I do...I type them down...even thought they're just bits, then, when I write a story, I just cut and paste...
Most of the time though, I write my ideas down on paper. staring at the computer screen for a long time hurts my eyes. :-?
hope that helps!

Oh gosh..I have this problem too. Must be a curse or something. Symee-sama, I'm guilty of writing story ideas in class. But, I do nitpick them a lot, and perfectly good stories go *crumple crumple* and meet the trash can.

Thanks for the ideas, melrose! You're a life saver.

My best ideas come to me while in front of a compy too. But the thing that sucks is that once I start, sometimes I get writers block something awful. I tried jotting stuff down on paper if I didn't have a compy handy and that doesn't seem to work cause I can barely read my own handwriting. I can't thank my hubby enough for getting me a laptop so I have something portable when the need arises.

I have a similar problem. Although my ideas come to me when I'm listening to me CD, and thinking something stupid along the lines of "I'm hungry... Maybe I should eat," then, pop, out comes an idea. So, I sit down, and start typing. Once I start typing, the story just kind of falls out. Then, there's the great and FUN job of editing... Grrr.... Anyways, does anybody have certain ways that they come up with ideas? 'Cuz I've been in an anti-creative slump for a while now :pale:

You and me both...I get ideas from my daily life...most of them come to me while I'm on the computer though. Oh well, I guess the computer is just like some system of dinive inspiration that no one can seem to ignore! :D :lol:
Peace out! :D
